DBru Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Yesterday I began work on a recreation of The Legend at Holiday World. This will round out my recreations of the park's coasters (even though The Voyage was terrible...). So here is a look at what I've done so far: (Feel free to comment!) Legend-080515222803003.bmp The air-filled double-up! That's it for now. Next up is the double helix, and I have a feeling that it's not going to be easy... Legend-080515222727002.bmp The *main* turnaround. Legend-080515222643001.bmp First drop! Legend-080515222619000.bmp Look familiar?
the ghost Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 that looks very ice. I am getting NL for my birthday hopefully and then I can make my own rides.
DBru Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 ^7 minutes, that must be a record! Thanks for the comment, and hope you enjoy NoLimits (when you get it)!
angryemobeaver Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Looks pretty good so far. Although i would recomend making the paint a more dull and old color.
DBru Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 ^Thanks! And yes, I will change the color somewhat, but this is to be made like The Legend in its premier season. The wood was still fresh then
DBru Posted May 18, 2008 Author Posted May 18, 2008 It's complete! After about a week of work, I am finally finished with my recreation of The Legend. The Legend is located in Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN. It was built in 2001, and was the park's 3rd coaster. The statistics are slightly off, but I tried to get them as close as possible. Keep in mind, the lateral forces on The Legend are EXTREME. So please don't complain about how many lats are yellow, because that's how they should be. So enjoy my recreation, and please leave comments and suggestions! The short pre-lift out of the station. Going down the first drop! Wheee! The out-leg of the ride. Double helix! Look familiar? Overview. Legend.nltrack Download!
dr.gumbo Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 It was quite good, it was great to begin with but heading towards the helix it started to feel sloppy and rushed. If you work on the ending this could be a worthy re-creation of the ride.
DBru Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 ^Really, why did you feel that it seems rushed? That's the layout of the ride!
dr.gumbo Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 ^ To be blunt it was as pumpy as hell. I wish I could go to Holiday world. I love woodies more than steel coasters and I know I would love this, even if it is rough. I'll stop whining now!
