Thorpe Park Lover Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Hi guys I searched this and couldn't find this, sorry if there's already a topic for it! This was posted on screamscape yesterday. http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_over_texas.htm Scroll down to the bottom. I should see this happening with the bumper cars already shut down and flashback breaking down a lot? This should also be one of the 5 year plans in action?
packfanlv Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I think the park could use another great wooden coaster, but think that Six Flags doesn't have the capital to build another coaster in this park in 2009. I think they will be opening coasters in parks that didn't receive any this year. (SFMM SFNE, etc.) Some parks like SFA and SFKK haven't received any coasters in several years. Whatever happens, I am sure parks like SFOT that are good performers for the company will continue to see capital investment, just not a new coaster every year.
cedarpointfangirl Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Here is a link to some SFoT employee forums, they say some of management has confirmed it. I won't believe it till I see it. To me, with the addition of Tony Hawk this year, I really don't see any thing like a new coaster until the 50th anniversary in 2011. I would really like to see something like a flyer put in, it would really be a nice addition to the park. Unless people travel to other parks out of state, alot of them have no clue that a flying coaster even exists. We need one in Texas. SFoT Employee forums
Thorpe Park Lover Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 ^Also it mentions Dark knight for 2008 insted of Tony Hawks Big Spin. Why didnt they do this?
Janus Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Ah... See I'd heard it was Dark Knight for 09 in place of the bumper cars. And considering the bumper cars are still a haunted house for FF, I figured it'd be there and in the lot behind them. There's enough space for a family ride, but a wooden coaster seems like it'd be cramped.
