chmilo24 Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I could see now that a lot more skaters have been signing into TPR so I thought it was about time to make a thread about this wonderful sport. So here you can show use some pictures of what or where you ride, who our favorite team or pro skater is, and just share some extreme stories about something you did. So for me I ride either a Element board, or cruise on a custom long board that I created in high school. And I am still trying to get sponsored by Vol com (yes they are my favorite team) and I usually skate with Nike SB 6.0s because they are the best shoes ever.
sfotkid Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I've been skateing for 8 years, I have a Zero board with some old pos Fast Forward trucks I skate with Converse, and my favorite team is probably Vol too. Oh my favorite pro is Rodney Mullen.
Angry_Gumball Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I used to street skate when in high school, but was never any good, just basic ollies on and off of curbs, easy nose slides on sidewalks, nothing impressive. About a year ago, I decided to return back to skateboarding, in a different form: longboarding. The ride is just that much smoother, the rattle doesn't give me a headache, and I can fly down my street without fear of hitting a pebble and sailing off of the board. My anology of skateboard and coasters: Street skateboards is to Vekoma as Longboards is to B&M...the ride's just that much smoother! Regular skateboard: Darkstar, Powell Blank "Mini-Logo" from back in 2003, still in great shape! Venture trucks, bullet wheels. Longboards: A bunch of home made boards of different lengths for experimental uses, cheap wood, can snap. Krown board I bought at Big 5, with stock trucks and wheels, rides nice. Flexdex Classic 29 with Randal trucks, and Krypto wheels. (Turning on this thing is crazy, as well as downhilling...speedwobbles due to sharp/short turning radius.) I primarily ride the C29 to and from work due to the ultra smooth shock-absorbing ride.
chmilo24 Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Yea, when I was in middle school, I always rode a Girl board, had some good times with it, but when I was a Junior in high school, I fell in love with longboards, the ride was just amazing. And it was easier for me to go to work on a longboard than a skateboard. And yes, the greatest skater ever is Rodney Mullen.

socalMAN123 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Sector 9 is the best. And I totally agree with chmilo24, Nikes are defenitly the best shoes for skating, let alone just wearing around. ---Brent
Angry_Gumball Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 There are too many S9's around here. Go to the mall, all they carry are S9's. Yes, they're nice, but that's all there is. I'll always love my bouncy Flexdex as it's got a lifetime warranty. It snaps and becomes unridable, I send it in and get a brand new one. And the guys at Flexdex put the destroyed boards up as it's a rare occurance. I just love the response the board has with the Randals on it...able to dodge inconsiderate drivers who block the sidewalk when pulling out of the gas station knowing I'm coming full speed. Doesn't look like there's that many skaters/longboarders on here afterall.
chmilo24 Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Yea, I love my Pro40 Flexdex, with all the crazy things I like to do, it is perfect. I don't think S9 could handle my insane moves. ^I thought there were a lot more skaters in TPR too.
Angry_Gumball Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I had Adios for the longest time, and after 3 years, the rubber finally dried out and cracked/tore. They had a good life.
chmilo24 Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 ^^No. I got Adio BAM V3's on right now. I also have a pair of Adio Kenny Andersons in my closet. Don't wear them a lot though.

chmilo24 Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 ^I think it was your avatar, isn't that man flipping over?
Angry_Gumball Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 ^So, I see you're a flexdex-er too. What's your flexdex setup? Did you buy the rider tech/prebuilt model or did you buy parts separately? (Probably the best thing...they charge crazy prices for the Randal 180 trucks on their site)
chmilo24 Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 ^My girlfriend got me a RT Pro40 for Christmas, so Rider Tech.
chmilo24 Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 ^I guess, only us guys have to pay for them most of the time, so it is like they are giving back. And for me she gives back in the two ways I love, season passes, a new deck, or something else two couples give each other.
upside down Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Well todays my lucky day, I walked out of my school and trip over a pack of World Industrys TNT bearings, I have no idea what im going to do with them as my pigs work fine. anybody no what I should do with them? sell them, use them, or keep them as spare?
chmilo24 Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 Spare them, 'cause if you are anything like me, you would need them soon.
Angry_Gumball Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I'm still wishing that I haven't lost the rest of my spare bearings or trucks. I was making custom mini longboards (still to this day trying to find strong enough wood, not available at Home Depot) as riding mini boards are quite fun. I just need some extra longboard wheels and some bearings and all of these deck-onlys can soon come to life. I notice that I'm the only flexdex-er on campus of all the longboarders/cruisers there. (Universities always seem to have longboarders) I generally use mine there to get to the student union/cafeteria, eat, then skate back to the art building on the other side of campus.
sfotkid Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Lol, for the longest time I haven't been able to land a Nose grind, Ok so today I was hanging with some friends, You know, just chillin'. I decide I want to land that Nose grind, I try it, and I just stick it... It felt so good. After that, we were skating near this local lake, on the sidewalk, I try a kick flip (Which Im known to be good at) and right when I landed it, it slipped underneath me, and flew right into the lake, So I went swimming today!
