Howdy All!!

This is the scenario. I am going down to Florida for a National Basketball tournament that my team is in. We have one free day which is Wednesday. I am looking into either doing IOA or Busch Gardens. I have never been to Florida before so I want to hit the best first.

1) Can you do IOA in a day? What rides are tought to get on?

2) Does anyone know anyway to get discount tickets to IOA?

3) Can you get a ticket combination like go one day and come back one evening at a low price?

4) Are there any restaurants in the Orlando/Disney are that you would recommend to a kid that is 15 and his dad?

5) I am hearing that Disney is too much to do in a day... What part of disney would you reccomend to do if you had one day?

6) Anything cool to do in the Orlando area for half a day?(since I will have a lot of half days open)?

7) Is Busch Gardens usually crowded on the weekdays?

8) Those that have rode Sheikra...is it worth it...or is IOA the better pick?

Please give me some info on this guys and gals.

Always Appreciated,

David

Yep, if you get there early (by early I mean 30 minutes before the gates are "Scheduled" to be open)

AAA. Other than that they're really isn't any good unless you are a Florida resdient.

3) Can you get a ticket combination like go one day and come back one evening at a low price?

You save a little bit on the second day, but nothing to get too excited about. They do have a two-park/one-day ticket, but it is a good jump in price and would be pretty pointless in the summer.

4) Are there any restaurants in the Orlando/Disney are that you would recommend to a kid that is 15 and his dad?

If you are a pro wrestling fan, you would love Medieval Times.

5) I am hearing that Disney is too much to do in a day... What part of disney would you reccomend to do if you had one day?

If you do one day, do the Magic Kingdom. The rest of the parks are nice, but I normally don't spend all day at them. Except Epcot, which is really not the park to do if you are only going to Orlando for one day.

6) Anything cool to do in the Orlando area for half a day?(since I will have a lot of half days open)?

Wet & Wild, Sea World (If you are just doing the rides), Disney Water Parks, Putt Putt, Mini Golf, etc

7) Is Busch Gardens usually crowded on the weekdays?

It is very crowded on Summer weekends. They offer deep discounts on their season passes and a ton of locals fill the parks when the weather is nice. But, even crowded, Busch is still pretty managable.

Those that have rode Sheikra...is it worth it...or is IOA the better pick?

Yep. The only people that will put it down are people that have been on 300+ coasters.

You can usually buy a 2 day Uni parkhopper online and get 3 days free. That will give you a total of 5 days of parkhopping, even if your only able to go for an hour or so.

If your planning on going to IOA I'd get either the one-day one-park or the 5day hopper. If your interested Old Town in kissimmee is close to WDW on east 192 and has shops, rides, and no admission and stays open pretty late.

OR you could do what I usually do when I have an evening to kill in orlando and don't want to use up a park admission:

Park at Downtown Disney and grab a free disney bus to one of the Magic Kingdom hotels. Take the monorail (free) to the main entrence and watch the fireworks from out side the park (free).

You get a great view with no crowds and you can still hear the show audio pretty good. plus you beat the crowds heading out because your already outside of the park.

Well, spiderman has a single rider line. I'd say hit Hulk first. It's closer anyways.

Plus I've noticed that Marvel Island is usually the first one to open. Sometimes even before posted opening hours.

I'd say arrive 30 min prior to posted opening time, hit Hulk and Spidey, then tour the park counterclockwise. Then by the time you get to Dragons you can flip off the crowds on the other side of the lake.

And buy some corn from the magic Oak tree for christs sakes! Jesus, your right there anyways!
