EuroTre Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 OK, I have a legitimate excuse for not doing anything involving RCT2 for a long time. My stupid sister tossed it behind the computer. In the small town of Monona, which neighbors the city of Madison, there was a small park that was used for social events and other things, called the 'Monona Exposition Park'. Situated a few blocks away from the Monona Terrace, the park became a theme park in 1916. The park, although small, had several spectacular coasters, including the best Flying Turns ever made. Updates soon...
EuroTre Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 I uncovered a few construction pictures to satisfy you guys. More soon... Completed trackwork on the Flying Turns Looks like the entrance to the Flying Turns Shoot The Chutes Wild Mouse
devol4 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 wow, this looks like a really great park, can't wait to see more
Tanks4me05 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 The Flying Turns looks interesting, but with the sheer size of the ride, the supports make it really look like an eyesore - or at least REALLY unrealistic. Otherwise, I really like the park, it seems a lot like the pictures of an Australian park that I saw on rcdb. Somehow, the "simplicity" of the park gives it an interesting character - not too elaborate buildings, scenery, etc. Simple, yet effective.
Tanks4me05 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Additional comment: Try to look at some other Flying Turns pics, like the old ones or even Knoebels to get at least somewhat of an idea of realism - I'd say keep the ride around 50 - 65 feet tall - and make sure that a station is put on it - assuming this model's station was finished. But the queue line stuff looks nice - I'd suggest to keep that.
EuroTre Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 The Flying Turns was only about 100 ft. tall. Lake Placid Bobsled Palisades Park 125 ft tall (RCDB) So it's not the tallest, but maybe the biggest.
