I'm in the early stages of planning a trip to HHN 18 and I was just wondering...is the Hampton Inn that is really close to Universal Studios a good hotel? And should my friends and I walk to Universal each day or would it be better to just drive?

You definitely do not want to walk to Universal. (Heck, it's a long enough walk from the parking deck!) I've never stayed at that Hampton Inn (but from the map, it's not even reasonable walking distance.) I'd recommend the Comfort Suites on Turkey Lake Road (that's still less than 5 minutes to Universal).

Googlemaps puts this Hampton Inn 1.5 miles from the park, but if Comfort Suites is cheaper I'll definitely check it out.

You can also take a taxi from Universal to your hotel. Just take one of the 1,000 taxis waiting in line at Citywalk. If your hotel is close to Universal, the trip will probably be less than $15.

Check out Comfort Suites on Turkey Lake road.

Turkey Lake road runs parallel to Route 4 and is the road that runs behind Universal, so you can use the back entrance.

A very quiet residential neighborhood. Very quick to get to Universal and almost no traffic. You can go south on Turkey Lake road and cut under Route 4 to get to the entrance to Sea World.

They have shuttle service.

Also great in hotel pizza.

IF you are into the whole HHN Thing the onsite hotels always do a special with admission for day and night for HHN and it usually includes a tshir,t lanyard and a souv cup. Not the cheapest thing but well worth the experience. They also do specials for the RIP Tour for HHN which in my opinion the way to go for HHN. This past year the prices worked out to be 20.00 less per personto do the RIP tour then it was to purchase a same night ticket AND the HHN ONLY Express pass. Just some other ideas for you!!

^ Wow thank you! Although I think I am going to stick with the Hampton Inn since my dad gets points for staying there, and he has earned enough for 2 free nights and he might let my friends and I use one of them!
