Tanks4me05 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 A teaser just came from Tanks4me Construction Yards: Something new is on the way. Something big, and it's ready to burn in 2008. I just asked the president of the company, and the said that he will take pictures of the construction of the new ride as more progress has been made, within a few days.
jarmor Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Tell him in a couple days it would be considered old news... Jarvis "give us dirt shots!" Morant
Tanks4me05 Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 Ok, I have been working on it for a while now, and I have over 2,000 feet of track finished. The name has been revealed: Holzfeuer Meaning: German for "Timber Fire" (Someone correct me if I'm wrong - I've been learning German for only a year and a half) Ok, jetzt Ich habe ein paar bilder: Here is a view of the layout so far (about 170 feet tall.) Yep, that is an overbanked curving Double Drop you are seeing. (120 degree banking.) You'll like this - it's taken quite fast.
DBru Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Looks insane! lol IMO, wooden coasters on NoLimits are almost always more fun to design/ride than steel coasters. And that's strange, because I feel the exact opposite in real life... Keep up the "insaneness"!
Moose Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I think I like wood better because it seems easier. Those overbanks are so high off the ground that they would take a ton of supports IRL.
Tanks4me05 Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 ^So? It would probably only be about $50,000 to $100,000 extra. Not that much. If not, then use some steel pipes - but it's only 53 feet above the ground.
