Coasters 4 ever Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 If I go to SFGAdv, I need to know which rides are the best or most popular so I know to go to them first. Don't mention KK because it will be down when and if I go (a BIG if).
YoshiFan Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Batman and Robin The Chiller since it only has 1 train on each side (if Batman is open, if just Robin is open then of course there will only be 1 train total) Nitro, since it's arguably the most popular coaster in the park other than Kingda Ka Batman The Ride, also still popular and can can sometimes get long waits. All 3 rides are in the same part of the park in Movie Town.
CoasterCrazy Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 When I was there a couple of weeks ago Nitro had biggest line. However I had a Gold Qbot so I didn't wait over 35 minutes to ride anything and KK was open when I was there.
coasterdude5 Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 I'd definately go ride Nitro first. Just because I love hypers. But that's just me. Then Batman, then B&R: The Chiller.
shepp Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 On the basis of three days there, I'd say the single longest wait (except for KK) is definitely S:UF. (Posted waits for it were over two-plus hours when you could get on Nitro in 30-45 minutes. Both sides of Chiller were down when I was there.) The load times are very slow, and they were running one train at least part of the time I was there. Because it was raining during KK's Friday morning ERT, I just walked on, and was underimpressed...not nearly as good as Vekoma flyers, IMO. Nitro, however, rules, and the good news is it's better in the back, so you don't have to wait for the front row. The dual-queueing arrangement on the stairs to the platform is a mess, anyway.
CoasterFanatic Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 ^ I agree with Shepp. With KK down you can count on some pretty long lines on Superman. It doesn't have nearly the capacity of Nitro (extra row and fast dispatches). Chiller can also get some pretty long lines. I had good luck riding it as the last thing before close though. Wait Times (75 total records) Six Flags Great Adventure
ddaver177 Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 First off hit Superman. If not you will waiting in a 2+ hour line. Go to Nitro around 5 or 6. During the rest of the day check out Scream Machine and Medusa. Medusa breaks down sometimes, but when it is up its great. Have FUN!!!
PhishyBrewer Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Do they have QBot or Fastpass or something? Going Labor Day weekend, I'll need it. Thanks
CoasterCrazy Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 ^They have the Qbot and the Gold Qbot I highly recommend getting the Gold Qbot on Labor Day weekend.
shepp Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 ^Note that Q-Bot Gold is pretty fabulously pricey: about 70 bucks for the first person, 35 for each addtional. Also, even if KK is running, it only entitles you to one ride, and if KK should break down and you never get to Q-Bot the ride, you're SOL.
ECZenith Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Definately Superman Ultimate Flight first. The second train is still in pieces and the queue time can get up to several hours. Nitro has the second longest wait, and then Chiller, at least that's how it usually is when I visit. Batman The Ride can get crowded sometimes. The rest of the coasters are usually walkons or have waits of only a few minutes.
Red Benny Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 However I had a Gold Qbot so I didn't wait over 35 minutes to ride anything. I figured Great Adventure would have longer lines, but that's just insane. I got a gold qbot for SFNE and the longest I had to wait was 10 minutes for Superman. Most of the time on Batman I didn't have to wait at all. It's a nice feature and all, but I can't imagine paying $70 extra dollars just to cut my wait times down to a half an hour.

It's a nice feature and all, but I can't imagine paying $70 extra dollars just to cut my wait times down to a half an hour. Well, (and I know we've talked about this before...) IMO it's insanely greedy to ask that kind of money to butt into queues. SFGAdv raised their Q-Bot prices by a full 50% this year, no doubt because of KK...and we all know where that's at. For less than 70 bucks, you can buy a retail one-day ticket to Disney and do FastPass for free (tho that system's changing) or get into CP and get free priority spots for TTD and MF. Just to put things in perspective: the $100 a day gold Q-bots would have cost me and my partner was more than we paid daily for a nice Pricelined hotel in Mount Laurel, the rental car, our meals, AND the GAdv parking fee. I realize that we were lucky in being able to visit midweek before peak season, but without QBot (though with participation in the running of the bulls and some luck regarding S:UF) the longest we waited for anything in almost three days was about 75 minutes for one of our three rides on KK.
PhishyBrewer Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 $100 bucks for a Gold Q-Bot... looks like I'm going to check the piggy bank on this one, or sell some more junk I don't need on eBay. I'll have like 5+ hours for the labor day trip, and I'm not going back to California without a ride on Kingda Ka or Nitro.
