christianscoasters
SCROLL DOWN FOR PHOTOS!! I flew out to Denver two days ago, hung out on Friday, and went to Elitch's today (Saturday)! I haven't been to Elitch's in a couple years, so I was really excited. Mainly just to ride Tower of Doom, because it was closed last time, and I was too short the time before, but I also wanted to go cause I need more coasters in my life . We got to the park around 11:30. The park opens at noon. Around 11:45 they opened the ticket booths and excitedly yelled, "WELCOME TO ELITCH GARDENS!!!" That was really cool I thought. The park still opened at noon, but they let us go all the way through Main Street. They stopped us at the end of Main Street until noon. So when noon came, we went straight to Mind Eraser. Mind Eraser: Vekoma SLC. Hang n' Bang. We rode in the second to last seat. It was fun I thought! It wasn't completely smooth, but for the most part, it was cool. Mild headbanging. It had some really good airtime where we sat! I enjoyed it! After Mind Eraser, we headed to Tower of Doom. Tower of Doom: Intamin II Generation Freefall. 220 ft. This was my first Intamin Freefall (except for SFMM). I was very, very nervous. Well, we got on the ride, they pulled us to the top, where I freaked out. I started screaming, and the ride hadn't even fell yet. Well, when it did, I screamed like I never have before. A 220 ft. freefall is just so intense. When the ride stopped, I was shaking uncontrollably, and walking really slow. I was that scared. The ride ops even asked if I was alright. Not trying to be funny, just trying to care, which really shows that I had the bajeepers scared out me! Overall, I really liked it. Boomerang: Vekoma Boomerang. CAR FOUR BABY!!! It was a little rough, but smoother than Mind Eraser. I did notice that it had a little to hard of jolts. Didn't like it that much. Halfpipe: Intamin Halfpipe. Wow. Does this thing get worse with age? I HATED it! Two years ago, it was my favorite ride there! Now it's their SLC!!! Well, aside from that stupid triangle on the restraint that made the ride VERY "non-man friendly", it had some headbanging. It really hurt. Didn't like it. PTS!!! Twister II: Some wooden coaster. This might be the worst excuse for a wooden coaster. What a piece of crap. Very rough, no airtime, not one, but TWO trims! And yes, the trims were on HARD. This ride was very rough, and we kept getting jolted to the side. Didn't like it at all. The coolest part though, was at the bottom of this drop, they had a saw blade as a 'headchopper'. It was cool! But other than that, they seriously need to demolish it and make something worthwhile. And we noticed something. The s-curve at the top was SWAYING about 6 feet back and forth! I mean, a wooden coaster WILL move, but not this much. It seriously made me reconsider if it was safe. The Flying Coaster: Zamperla Torture Device. What a GREAT name! I mean, it must have taken them years to figure that one out! But anyway, this ride, like all others, has gotten worse with age. Very, very painful. Sholders and ear pain. All the people next to me got off saying, "What a waste of time!" But they could seriously get something else. Come on EG. Sidewinder: Arrow Shuttle Loop. I find the name ironic, seems how it doesn't turn, but it was fun. It isn't as great as Diamondback at Frontier City, but it was the best airtime machine at EG. Probably the smoothest ride too . Well, we were done with the park in four hours. And the last two were spent just walking around and taking pics. Not the greatest park ever. It lacks a good roller coaster. All the rides are clones for Pete's sake! Mind Eraser- Vekoma SLC. Clone Flying Coaster- Zamperla Torture Device. Clone Sidewinder- Arrow Shuttle Loop. Clone Boomerang- Vekoma Boomerang. Clone Halfpipe- Intamin Halfpipe. Clone Twister II- Woodie. 1/2 Clone. It's silmilar to the old Elitch's coaster, Mr. Twister, so I give it 1/2 clone. Another thing, there was a LOT of workers on cell phones. Even more than SFMM
KGA29
I visited EG this past summer and thought that Mind Eraser was extremely rough and bad. Halfpipe wasn't running. I totally agree about Twister II. No airtime and just awful. I think that this park needs to get a little TLC in the back. The park entrance looks really nice and then towards the back, it looks just like a carnival. My favorite ride was Sidewinder because of the air. christianscoasters
^On Mind Eraser, the red train was smooth, but the aqua was a little rough. Be glad that Halfpipe wasn't running.

christianscoasters
^No. It wasn't open. And yes, flying coaster was awful today. I did actually used to like it . We were going to go to Lakeside, in fact we drove to it, but its closed for the season. I guess I'll post some photos now! *Disclaimer: This was taken with a camera phone. Why? Well, my digital camera is broken, so this is the best I could do. Better than nothing though! Wait! No! I want to leave you with this last picture of the Tatsu Wannabee/Zamperla Torture Device! And I'll leave you with this last picture of me holding a decently-priced Pepsi. Hope you enjoyed! Hopefully, I can get the rest of the pics uploaded soon. I love Pepsi. This was me after riding Twister II. IDK if you can read it, but it said Philidelphia Tobaggan Co. Just thought you'd like that. And to the republic, for which it stands, one nation, under the ferris wheel, doomed for all, that enter its cages. This was creative. BTW, the kiddie coaster is called "Cactus Coaster". Not Tombstone Tumbler. Just in case you wondering... Lol. This was pretty funny! Woah. This sounds familiar. Ugh. Now I'm hungry. DAMMIT!!! Chaos was open, but we didn't ride. This is what happened after we rode. =O Let's try Twister II. Launched Arrow Rides ROCK MY SOX!!! Hey! There's the non-turning Sidewinder! Fright Fence. Whoop-dee-doo. Well, it ain't as bad as fresh cut fingers =/ Yes, it's called "Fried Zombie Brains" And the fried zombie brain holder thingy still had Six Flags on it. They still had lots of Six Flags stuff left. IDK if you can see, but there is a janitor wearing (I think) Flash's costume. Weren't they supposed to get rid of that when PARC bought EG? Speaking of which... I didn't really like Halfpipe. It was rough. Can't forget about Halfpipe! That stupid, stupid Halfpipe! Super fast hot Vekoma backwards anal rape! EG really crams its rides into the pavement. You actually walk under the Cobra Roll! I mean, that ain't amazing or anything, but pretty much every ride you have to go through it to actually get to it. It was smooth...ish Boomerang. Car 4. Wow. Ouch. Jolt. Boomerang wants some lovin'. But I'll give that to Tower of Doom! I really freaked out in this ride. It was fun, but EXTREMELY scary. Wow. Then we went to Tower of Doom. Now THIS is my favorite shot. Don't you agree? If this shot was higher quality, then it would have been really AWESOME! Ugh... LOW TO THE GROUND BABY!!! The drop was cool. If this is the red train, you'll hear "OMG THIS IS INSANE!!!" But if you hear the blue train, "Ooooo Maaaa OUCH thisssss isssss rrreeally pain OUCH ful!" I was shocked. It had airtime! Here we are at the Hang n' Bang! "EG Has kept us captive. Now release us so we can get back to our ship full of wonderful non-cloned rides!" OMG IT'S MY MOM!!! She didn't tell me that she was going to be here... This one lady was just hanging out. She looks bored. One of their scary type thingys was 'Brutal Planet'. We left too early so we didn't get to do anything at all involving Fright Fest. Fright Fest is here! EG has a nice 'Old Time' Main Street. Tower of Doom wast testing early in the morning. PARC Management did a great job of taking away the Six Flags feel. Not that it's a bad thing. But I'm just pointing it out. Although, well... you'll see later. Ahhhh. Elitch's. Homer
^Fried Zombie Brains = Elephant Ears. I Visited Elitch's back in summer 2006 (while it was still SF) and had pretty much the same experience you had except for the fact Boomerang was closed. Well, aside from that stupid triangle on the restraint that made the ride VERY "non-man friendly", it had some headbanging. It really hurt. Didn't like it. PTS!!! Half Pipe was the second best ride in the entire park. Don't tell me it has actually gotten rougher. All HP did for me was some nice ejector and some sore shoulders and thats it. If I ever get around to Denver, I'll be sure to do another mini credit run to EG and do Lakeside at night. Great TR though!
Goliath513
Nice photo TR. I haven't been there since 2005 but everything looks pretty much the same. They really need a good quality B&M or Intamin to replace one of the clones here.

christianscoasters
^I've been to Elitch's three times, and it's been closed every time. BTW, the rainbow, it's completely fenced off. Permanent fence. Bye-bye flat ride!
