coasterdude5 Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 ^ Nope, everything except the pretzel loop is, though.
Myself Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I feel dumb for asking but what's wrong with the pretzel loop that it doesn't work?
LOVE SFKK Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Coasterdude 5. I suggest that you just continue the flying coaster track, right underneath the pretzel loop. While it might take away from the realism, i think it will be better than a non-operational coater. Â The pretzel loop is awsome though, great idea!
coasterdude5 Posted September 6, 2007 Author Posted September 6, 2007 Guys, the coaster is operational! It just turnsaround underground instead of going through the pretzel loop... The coaster works perfectly and is 100% rideable, just not the pretzel loop.
coasterdude5 Posted September 6, 2007 Author Posted September 6, 2007 Update Year 7 Â Another small update today, I've been busy with some promo work, however, I did ride Ice Age for the first time today and it owns. Â There I am, next to the left, ready to take off. Â The first drop is incredible. Â So is the first turnaround. Â I had no idea the drop underground would be so huge, it's over 100 feet! Â Into the pretzel loop... Â I nearly blacked out it was so intense... yet awesome at the same time! More soon.
coasterdude5 Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 Update Year 7 Â Well, Year 7 is slowly coming to an end... it's been a pretty busy year. Â Don't expect too much next year but we'll be getting something pretty big. (not a 'ride') Â Windigo was closed today... it's been closed alot lately. Â I guess since now they have two major coasters they aren't as religous in getting them fixed that day. Â I don't like it when the ride is closed. Â What's that through the loop...? Â I believe it's Ice Age - The Ride... Â Look at that, it is Ice Age. Â Ice Age on Ice is also open now. Â The new area looks great! Â More soon, including the Year 8 Announcement.
kraken613 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Nice love this park! When will the finale update be?
coasterdude5 Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 I have no idea. Sometime this month or next month.
coasterdude5 Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 Update Year 8 Announcement   Aurora LightsTAIGA PARK PRESS RELEASE  Prepare to witness one of the largest, technologically advanced light shows in the world at Taiga Park for the Year 8 season.  Aurora lights will be able to be seen for miles, with a new stadium being built for the best seats in the park.  "We are very excited about this addition," said a park rep, "it's something other parks cannot offer."  The light show will run every night of the season.  The park opens soon for its 8th year of operation.  I got to attend the preview show tonight. This show kills anything else I've seen before at a park.  While you can see the show from anywhere in the park, the best seats are here!  Concessions are also availible.  Here's the stadium, it's pretty large.  Lots of seating availible here.  Here you can see where they will be extending the path to make a complete loop.  So the surrounding area doesn't look its best.  ...and the show begins!  You really can see it from anywhere in the park.  Here's the view from the stadium.  More soon.
I_Love_X Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Wow the new light show looks amazing. Keep up the good work.
Twister II Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 You are going to add some more to Aurora Lights stadium, right? Â Like, adding in some more 'nature' looking things around the lake. Also, that I think the entrance (shown in first picture) would look much better in a light blue, blue, green, or turquoise. Â Another small suggestion is the bushes around the concessions. Instead of small green bushes, have the small red bush. Adds a little more color and flair to the area. Â Just my 2 cents. Â
coasterdude5 Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 Update Year 8 Â Here's more from the preview show last night... Â Here's the sunlight portion of the show... Â You can see some of the show from the entrance plaza. Â More lights bouncing all over the place. Â Now onto other happenings inside the park... Â Ice Age is still going strong. Â I wonder if they'll ever place a ride in between Ice Age and Wolverine Bobsleds... Â Watch out Skrat! Â Park Overview... Â Pretzel loops are unique elements - thought I'd throw that in. Â More soon.
kraken613 Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 WOW! That looks amazing! It seems like every time after you update I go WOW!
coasterdude5 Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Update Year 8 Â Work is well underway on the Year 9 project, which will be the larges to date (land wise) Â But Wolverine Bobsleds closed for good today... Â They either had to re-route the path or close the ride, and they chose to close it. Â They were given two weeks to have the track above the pathway gone or else that area would have had to been shut down. Â The lift came down pretty quickly. Â I gotta say though, the hillside looks alot better without the fake snow. Â Sadly, there won't be any coasters added next year... Â As you can see this addition will finally give the park a complete loop. Â No more walking back and forth! More soon.
Moose Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Did i miss something on why the coaster couldn't cross the path? Â Looks good as always, but it's a bid sad to see a great looking coaster retired before its time.
coasterdude5 Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 ^ No, I had to give a reason why I was closing it... so I just made it up at the last minute. It was confusing... but I didn't like the ride and too many coasters were collecting near the front. Â The announcement will be made later today about the new area.
coasterdude5 Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Update Year 9 Announcement   Year 8 isn't even over and they've already announced plans for Year 9!  TAIGA PARK - Taiga Park, Canada's most-unique theme park is stepping up to the plate by investing in the largest expansion to date. Taiga Strait will encompass the strip of land surrounded by one of the many rivers that weave throughout the park. The object of the area is to keep in place the feel of the biome while adding attractions to keep guests entertained.  "We wanted to keep a balance," said a park rep, "we wanted to have the area to be somewhat of a secluded walking trail with attractions dotted throughout."  Guests will be able to kick back and watch the train or eat at one of the three new eateries being installed in the area.  One major sit-down restaurant, Bandero Cafe, will become the park's largest eatery. Two other counter-service restaurants will also be added to the area.  Taiga Park will also be unveiling one of the most-twisted rides on this side of the country. Prospect will rotate riders upside down numerous times while spinning in the opposite direction. Riders will sit three abreast and will be seated around a center hub.  The park will now feature a complete-loop layout. Guests will now be able to enjoy the entire upper-level area without having to back track.  The centerpiece attraction for the area will debut for the Year 10 season. It will become the park's largest, tallest attraction.  If Prospect is anything like its sister ride, it's gonna be one wild experience.  The project was originally going to be one walking trail that went behind everything... they modified it a bit but left in some of the original concepts.  Can you guess what I'm watching?  What gave it away? More soon.
coasterdude5 Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 No update today, but there will be one tomorrow. I thought I'd let some "park time" pass...
coasterdude5 Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Update Year 8 Â Well, Year 8 is slowly coming to a close. Â I can't believe this ride is still here... Â This is now the old part of Taiga Park, or the "original" part. Â At least with Windigo behind the area you know it's not too old. Â The park wasn't too crowded today. Â The park offices have moved to the lower level entrance plaza so this building is currently empty. Â Windigo has been closed for the majority of the season for an extended rehab, but it will reopen sometime this week. Â More soon.
coasterdude5 Posted September 17, 2007 Author Posted September 17, 2007 Update Year 8  Well, here's the last update of Year 8...  It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be.  I guess it was too cold to come out to the park...  Taiga Park  Gotta get the shot of Ice Age into the update.  Unfortunately, Windigo didn't reopen... but it will be operational opening day next year - guaranteed.  Someone's ready to leave...  You can see some construction going on behind the train station.  Can you guess which ride this is from? More soon.
kraken613 Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 The log flume! Wonder whats going on behind the train station. Hope Windigo gets fixed soon!
coasterdude5 Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 Update Year 9 Â The park, including Taiga Strait, is open! Â It's nice back here, until the crowds come. Â Prospect is an awesome ride. Â It gives a unique ride, that's for true. Â There's some walking to do, but nothing bad. Â Two of the new eateries.. Â May I take your order? Â There's some interesting architecture back here. More soon.
