christianscoasters
So about one month ago my dad told me we would be able to take a nice vacation anywhere in the U.S. because he has enough airline miles saved up. My first thought was LA!!! At first I thought that was a little far, but then he said that is what he was thinking! So on June 23, I flew out to Denver. That Monday, the 25th, we flew out to Burbank. California is just so different than Kansas. Unbelievable. Now I would definitely not want to live there, but it is a good tourist destination. When we arrived in Burbank, we went to eat at Pink's Hot Dog Stand, which IMO, was good. Not great, but good. We spent the rest of the day in Hollywood. Just to see the sights of Hollywood was so awesome. So you don't get bored anymore, I'll put the rest of my written trip report in the photo captions. You'll see what I mean. It was TERRIBLE!!! Worst ride ever! It was unbearably rough! I was like, "WTF! This is fun WHY?!?!?!" Our first ride of the day was X. Like I said, this was the number one coaster I wanted to ride ANYWHERE!!! So what did I think of it? Viper! We'll get to it later. The park opened 30 minutes late. For that 30 minutes, they had the tick-tock of a clock (hey that rhymes!) which was very annoying. They didn't even play the SF theme song! Not once throughout the whole day! The ticket booths. We bought our tix online for $35 each. We saved a total of $50! What sucks is that you have to pay to print. Oh well, it wasn't much. I really liked this picture. I just wish that the rides were RUNNING!!! Colossus had a baby a long time ago. It was named Psyclone and it... well, you know the story. Scream. A kick a$$ parking lot coaster. X and Viper. They're Arrow rides. They make people scream because of the amount of pain they're in. So parking is 15 frickin dollars. What the hell were they thinking?!?! Massive. Just massive. Tatsu is just so beautiful. The whole time we were waiting to get in the park, it ate the workers, so we knew Tatty would be running good today since it had a full stomach. Pretty X. X was the number one coaster I ever wanted to ride. I'll explain later. Superman! This thing was testing at like 8:45 in the morning! So you drive up this road and BAM!!! There's X. Then the $15 parking lot fee. Yes it is! Six Flags Magic Mountain, err, California, something like that. So Tuesday came. The day we were going to... Wait. Is that? OMG!!! I'M HERE!!! On our tour, we passed by The House of Blues. Rodeo Drive. In some of the shops, you have to have appointments just to be there!!! It's just so different from Kansas, where people are friendly! Leonardo DiCaprio's home. It's HUGE!!! This is JLo and her hubby's home. Britney Slut, I mean, Spears is supposedly in here somewhere. I got this shot on this tour we took. You can hardly see the skyscrapers because of the pollution. BTW, there IS that much. GODZILLA!!! I got this picture just in time. Right after, GZ got mad because he couldn't see it so he smashed it to pieces. TV Guide Studios. They have that guy that talks about the stuff that pertains to those people who I honestly can't remember. Ok, here's the story. The HW sign is very far away from anywhere and can really only be seen from telescopes. That's why 1) It's dirty. And 2) It's circular. The city is very polluted which also makes it not so visible. These elephants were HUGE!!! I wanted to give them a hug, but that floor was off, so no more "bonus credits". *cry* There's some theater. They were showing these things called "movies" which TPR makes! BUY THEM NOW!!! Two doors down is the Kodak. This is where that Sparky girl sang some song for whatever reason I can't remember. The Chinese Theater with a big fat bus in the middle! This thing is a little smaller in person than in real life. But don't get me wrong, it's still pretty big. For lunch, we waited 40 minutes to get some food at Pink's. Everyone says that it has amazing food. We just thought it was "good". Nothing special about it though. Except the buns. I like buns. Luckily, it spared this building. There's the Warner Brothers water tower! It sprung a leak and destroyed the whole place! So we made it to Hollywood! This is the Disney Channel Studio. I think that it's actually "Toon" Disney. So pretty. IDK if this is the Grand Canyon or not, but we did go over it. We also went over Hoover Dam! On our way back to Denver, we stopped at Heritage square for a CREDIT!!! I consider this a bonus credit because I had no idea of it, and this wasn't planned. This coaster was really jerky on the lift. It's a scary train. It's yelling, "Hey look at me! I'm a train that's going to collapse!" It's a big train. CO is so beautiful. It's fun just to see the mining towns and stuff. There's a train down there if you can't see. We wanted to ride it, but it was sold out. This is hilarious. All these people were trying to go and this girl would sit there. Seriously, she would stop at the turns! It was my first alpine slide and it was GREAT!!! We need more of these. In CO, we went to Winter Park, home to a kick a$$ alpine slide!!!
christianscoasters
Some more... So there's lot's of chicks there, and other people. Hey look! There's Riddler's Revenge! Poor Thrill Shot. I rode the ErUPtion at Frontier City last year. It's an awesome ride! Wish I could've rode this. There wasn't a whole lot of people here today. In fact, most rides were nearly walk-on! The station, which was pretty. It takes them forever to start the ride omg. The SECOND that we got to the entrance, it opened. So we got to ride the first train! With no wait! It lives!!! Deja Vu is MASSIVE!!! We turned the corner and we were surprised. Not only because it was so big, but also because... That stupid fence got in the way. Makes me so mad! Ninja. We NEVER saw it running all day! However, it was running, but only one train. Just in case you don't have enough Tatsu in your life. BTW, I would have got an on-ride photo, but the flash on the camera wasn't working or they didn't have it on. Something like that. Funny that they still were selling them! This girl was walking around on stilts (as you can see). She didn't stop and talk to anyone. Just walked. There they go up the lift hill! Revolution's station track is so rusted, that they train stayed on top of it to hide its misery. Damn straight! Rock on! I mean, walk on! We rode in the front, so there was a little wait, but not much. They were running two trains, but at they end of the day, only one. This ride has a pretty bridge. The ACE landmark. If the person who carved in this sign could read, they probably would have known that it is IMPORTANT!!! Which was fast. And we loved it! So after Tatsu, we hit up on Revvy... Tatty on the brake. Cycling took a while as the ride ops were slow. Best. Loop. Ever. up, up, up! Sitting... waiting to go... Tatsu was only running two trains today. The line did move pretty fast aside from this. I love Tatsu! Yes I do! I love Tatsu! How bout' you! He he... Anyway, this is just SOME of the quene line. We waited an hour for Tatsu, and it was WORTH IT!!! They had mist thingys in line which was well needed. I love this pic. Tatsu's quene had this really neat info board showing some neat facts! They were all around the park too. Flying down the first drop of doom... wait a second. It's the first drop of FUN!!! Tatsu sign. Oh yeah, forgot to say. Some of these pics are blurry cause I just got a new camera and I haven't worked the kinks out of it yet. So we're getting closer to Tatty suey! Revolution was a hell of a lot of fun! We rode in the front seat, it was smooth, and we had a Wow. Just wow.
Swoosh
Um, am I the only having a lot of boxes with red "x's" in them on his second post?
christianscoasters
Some more again... I'm renaming this "Extreme Freeway" because of how loud this ride is. It sounds like a full capacity freeway times two. I think that the new SF theme song is "Celebration". They played this all the time and also for this show that no one cared about. Superman!!! THROUGH THE- Wait, it's partly covered. WTH, why not. SUPERMAN!!! THROUGH THE TREES!!! You get some nice shots of RR from (^)'s exit line. Again, why couldn't the train have been in this picture? (^) The ride was pretty fun. It was small, but fun. Back when (^) was built, this guy rode the coaster, puked on an officer, so the officer tried to catch him and this is what happened to his car. "GOTHAM CITY Building a Better" sign would be nice! That way I can get it all in the picture! This is a very forceful coaster, especially in your feet. Mine were hurting at the end of the ride! To get to (^), you have to go through Gotham City. Now it's time for (^) the ride! At SFMM, they pressurize their Pepperonis! Superman can be seen from everywhere. It's just a large object sticking up so it can continue watching pretty Tatsu. You can ride Riddler, and get polished too, by an "escort". There it is AGAIN. Next up was "Tidal Wave". You do actually pop out of your seat on the drop! Freefall. Painful. Not as painful as X, but still terrible. I will never ride this again. I HATED it. We didn't watch it for long. It was cool, especially when we know that we can't do it, but it kinda dragged on. There's some cool rides on the hill. Oh and a BMX "sampler" show. It was just "okay". ...but the ride was a little bit over hyped IMO. It has a really nicely themed station... Not much of a wait for RR. We were in the back, so it was walk-on. Would have been better if there was a train! RR is a very photographic coaster. Mmm... green B&M track. So we made it too the Riddler. Riddler's Reven... wait a second. Revenge of what/who? I saw Goldrusher, so we rode it. It was only running one train, but there was no one in line so it didn't matter. This ride was full of surprises! This kitty went after Tweety. Seriously! He pounced on him and served him to the guests for $9.99 a piece. Outrageous food prices at SFMM...
christianscoasters
About the X's... I'm not seeing them. The pics are showing up just fine for me. Anyway, more pics... The tree of nothing. Does this count as a credit? Scream was my first floorless coaster. This dive loop was cool. There's an airtime-filled pain machine! Can't you tell? SCREAM!!! This ride was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it a lot. Colossus line. We sat in the back. This ride had GREAT airtime. But it was just so rough, which took away the fun. Scream is in the background. I wish this coaster was "along the way" instead of in the very back in its own little section. One of my better shots of Gogo. Pulling out of the fancy station. Gogo has the biggest line ever. It takes forever to get to the ride itself. The underside of Gogo. Gogo (my new nickname for Goliath) had some feet but he hated them, so he crawled over to Psyclone in a fit of rage. WEEEEEEEE!!!! The sign. It's smaller in person, but still pretty big. Ooh!!! What's that I see? OMG!!! It's! It's! FLOWERS!!! Oh, and Goliath also. Huge. christianscoasters
There's a little more This is under "The Greatest Coasters Ever Built". It's so great, that they had to get rid of it because of such long wait times, paparazzi, and just plain fun! Viper and some chairless tables. BTW, Viper was cycling one train a minute! Great job ride ops! Viper turning around cause that's what it does. DUH A Tatty-su. A Tatty-su. Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Tatty-su. For the last time, WHERE IS THE TRAIN?!?!?! Deja Vu is so happy that Psyclone is gone, that it decided to do a little victory run! s' more? Revvy. I can't imagine it being that much fun w/o trees. Trees are great for this ride! There's the evil rides of doom. Viper however, was smooth-ish in the front seat. We really enjoyed it. But the back, not so smooth. Ninja and Jet Stream. Ninja is really close to the water. Jet Stream is really, REALLY fast for a log flume. The drop was really cool too! Ninja. Hell of a lot fun. Too bad that they were only running one train. Superman was really fun. The themeing was excellent and the ride had some good airtime and forces. Egg/Horseshoe turn. See! This spot is a a great place to get good Tatsu photos. Tatty's loop is very, very forceful. The train was right beside us when I pressed the "take" button on my camera. It wouldn't take it! I was so mad. In case you didn't know, this ride isn't KidTums friendly. Don't worry... I feel for ya' KT!!! BTW, they didn't even have the AC on in these. It was HOT!!!
christianscoasters
Last one... Back in Denver, we ate at Anthony's, home of the 18" pizza. Very good. Well that's all for now. If my second post isn't showing up, let me know and I'll fix it. Thanks for reading! Okay this is what hurled at me. I was approx. 20-30 feet from the ride and it landed about 20 feet behind me. I felt it scrape across the top of my head. Scary... Well, they shouldn't have brought it on the ride! AAAAAHHHHHH!!! OWW!!! Wait for it. Wait for it... There goes Viper. I almost got like a concussion or something when I was taking a picture here. I'll explain in a couple of pics. Thar she blows! Here it comes! The loudest lift in the world! You can hear it across the park! And- There's X again. yay i'm so happy. can't you tell? Before our plane left on Thursday, we had some time to kill so we went back to SFMM to take some pics. We didn't go inside, just stayed outside. CA has palm trees everywhere. But I feel lucky cause Kansas got hicks everywhere! Motorcycles came right through traffic and scared the living sh*t outta me! Okay heading back from Santa Monica, we got into traffic. I'm not used to this cause iza rednek This was my first time seeing an ocean. It was cold! So we rode the Ferris Wheel and just walked around the boardwalk, cause that's what you do on a boardwalk duh! INSANE!!! This thing had airtime all over! We kept popping out of our seats like Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl! It has a nice station. You can get a video of your ride, but we didn't see the camera itself. Odd. Oh and the coaster... So what was the coaster like? BTW, I LOVE this picture! Right next to the station, they have a covered "giant swing". IDK why it's covered. The WRC station. The Ferris Wheel was surprisingly fast. We were so shocked! Such a strange name. I think it used to be called "West Coaster" and then they changed it. Probably took them a year to think of this AWESOME name! The "West Roller Coaster" goes all over the boardwalk even over paths! Morgan hyper that is very small. Pacific Park was my first Boardwalk park, and I have to say that it was pretty cool! They have some smaller rides and a family coaster. There it is! The sight of many Hollywood movies. Now we're at Santa Monica. Remember no Tress ASSing. I'm gold and naked. What the hell else do you want? The place has lots of neat rainforesty stuff. The only thing we did in Downtown Disney, was the Rainforest Cafe. In Kansas, we don't have these really things. I have never seen anything this cool! So Wednesday, the 27th, we went to Downtown Disney. It's definitely a woman's shopping attraction according to my dad, and we both think that it's just a way for Disney to make more money. I'm so sad. We're leaving SFMM. Maybe I'll be able to go back sometime. Now for random crap! And Pacific Park!
FeelTheFORCE
I get the Xs also on the second post. Great PTR, though! It really got me reminiscing about my vacation last year out there. Thanks!

trcg721
If the park opened at 10:30, The park did open on time. SFMM open at 10:30 during the week and opens at 10:00 during the weekend.
phazan
Wow, that was an awesome photo TR!! That's pretty cool that you got to see Southern California, AND ride all the coasters! I love visiting there!
christianscoasters
Thanks! I was glad that Deja Vu was open, but it was a little bumpy, and just "good". Nothing special. A credit's a credit right?
HCONerd
I love SFMM. It looks like you had a good time, too. Yeah, I agree with your opinions on X. Overrated and unbearably rough. I'm suprised that you thought Deja Vu wasn't so special, though. I thought it was one of the most intense rides in the park. Hmm. Well anyways, I love your photoTR! So many great pictures. christianscoasters
^Yeah I got off of Deja Vu thinking "that was cool." and not "OMG THAT WAS INSANE!!!" like i did for tatsu. I LIVE for Tatsu! BTW, I went to Wild West World today thinking OMG if this place got a coaster similar to Tatsu then it wouldn't be a roadside attraction anymore!
FeelTheFORCE
^ Yeah, they are both real quality coasters. When i went last year the line for Tatsu hovered around 2 hours all day even though everything but X and Deja (poor/slow loading) were walk-on the whole day. Luckily, some lady that had to abruptly leave only a couple hours after the park opened had like 10 extra fast passes, so she gave them to us and we got 3 walk-on rides on Tatsu throughout the day. I also found 6 more right before we left just sitting on the ground in Xs que, but we never used them, I think I actually still have them. Thanks for fixing the pictures, by the way. christianscoasters
^Your welcome. I think that they were screwed up is because it put that post in twice, so I deleted one, so it deleted the pics. Anyway, a lot of stuff was walk-on with the exception of those three. Viper and colossus were sometimes without any riders!
