mike541x Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Welcome to my first real trip report. My mom dad and I decide to visit my cousin Francis and his family in Chicago. We arrived there on saturday on the 23rd. On monday 6/25 we visited Six Flags Great America. Raging Bull More pictures soon Sexy B&M coaster Ah Orbit Demon and Raging Bull Wait. Hold up. What? Deje Vu open? This is what the park looked like Walking on I saw this kid wearing Heeley's. I thought they banned those. My first ride of the day Triple Spin Its Superman. Missed credit > Oh no crowds! Viper and its bumper sticker We made it damn it we made it. I see American Eagle and the closed Giant Drop Having my favorite energy drink. On the road to Six Flags
mike541x Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 More Sfgam V2! More Pictures American Eagle and Sky Coaster A better shot at Iron Wolf First lame attemp at coaster porn. Iron Wolf's lift hill. Time to ride the train Batman's loop Batman The Ride. Oh wow. Noise! Me in front of demon The Moose says you're closed I say you're open. The Moose....er sign at the entrance actully said this and Giant Drop was closed that day. I guess they got so sick of putting the sign up everyday they just left it there. Demon Demon! I found this ride pretty cool. No Intamin drop ride for me. Omg! Look at this huge crowd.
Reon Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Well, you picked some really good parks for your first Photo TPR. From what I went on, SFGA is a pretty good park, at least by SF standards. Sadly I missed a good number of credits (Batman, Wolf, V2, Deja), but I personally love Viper, Bull, and Demon. You didnt miss anything on Superman though...that thing SUCKS IMO. Vekom Dutchmen are much better. Cant wait to see your Mt. O pics. Cyclops remains my undisputed favorite coaster to this day, and their other woodies are pretty good too (Hades is my top 4)
mike541x Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 More Sfgam Time to call it a day. Up next Mt Olympus Comments are welcome Superman! Cool lift hill. My last ride on Whizzer Another missed credit. New at Six Flags Great America Feet2 This was the best part of the ride. V2 Stuck on the hill. They got it moving after 5 minutes. My last ride on Batman. Time to ride American Eagle Oh yeah heres a picture for Derek I went for one more ride on the Demon. I was able to raise both hands this time because of the weird OTSR. That part seemed like it would stop. Water slides! Viper. This ride was pretty cool but it always seemed like it would stop at the top. Here we are. I didn't swim. Making our way to Hurricane Harbor I took a few shots of Raging Bull Time for lunch Raging Bull through the trees Whizzer. Another cool family ride. This ride was ok. Not the best simulator ride in the world but it wasn't bad. Corkscrew Hill at BGE is by far my favorite. More crowds. Oh my! It smelled pretty bad here. Superman. A missed credit. I went in the queue to see the line for this and it smelled like a sewer exploded. Mist! I love those things. After Batman we went on the Rapids. It was short but great way to cool off. Time to ride Batman
Golfie Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Ugh... Six Flags has put up those Geico ads all over the park. When we went, there was no bumper sticker on Viper, but the yellow signs were dotted all over the park. Wouldn't it be smarter for a health insurance company to advertise in an amusement park rather than a car insurance company?
Homer Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 If I were Geico, I would have said, "Our insurance rates are cheaper than parking!" Great pics of SFGAm, glad you had a good time getting hopped up on Jolt.
mike541x Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 Mt Olympus. We went on 6/27. I got the credit I needed. Cyclops Hades and Zeus. When we got there we went to the indoor water mark for a while and went to the rides. Great park no line jumpers. But the ride operators don't even check your lap bars before starting the ride. That concerns me. Off with the pictures. Hehe. Thanks for reading Fireworks! Ps. I hope everyone has a good 4th of July Woah it is real! Thanks for a great time Mt Olympus. In the sunset I was able to get 2 rides on Hades. Great ride but it rattles your head alot near the end. Zeus opened up so I got 2 rides on that while it was open Mmm! Cyclops! Short but fun ride. Rush Hour Traffic! Go karts. Well I was in the blue one that the guy is pushing. It died out on me. Pegasus. It was pretty brutal. Not working. Crap! Across the street is Alligator Land and the crazy stuff there Its up there These slides were pretty cool. We spent much of the day here. Lack of themeing much? Closed? Out from the ground Here is a cool picture I took Hades in the distance Ok Yay! Is this any good? After a boring trip in traffic and stoping at a smelly McDonalds we made it
cprocks22 Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Great TR, i love the feet2 picture of V2. I miss the Wisconsin Dells, some good stuff there, but theres a lot of tourist traps too. Ripley's is meh... it could be better, but its not bad. Theres one place that was close to Mt. Olympus that my cousin wanted to do (can't remember the name). It ended up being 60 bucks for the 4 of us and it was total crap. Did you stop at Timber Falls by any chance? I like Avalanche more then Hades but thats just my opinion.
doublex98 Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 ohh I love Sfga!!! american eagle is great! the water park really sucks though...
Guest Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 How did you get on the inside of Zeus' drop? I had thought that area was closed off. Anyway nice TR...
RailBlazer Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Did you stop at Timber Falls by any chance? I like Avalanche more then Hades but thats just my opinion. I was wondering if they stopped at Timber Falls as well. So many reports about Mt. Olympus and many don't even mention Timber Falls. You are not alone in liking Avalanche more than Hades. Avalanche is my favorite woodie. Yes, I have ridden The Voyage, but not El Toro. I think Avalanche is one of the most fun coasters anywhere.
mike541x Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 No. Sorry guys. The place looked pretty cool itself but my parents only let me choose one park to visit . I might head back up to Chicago next year and hopefully visit most of the themeparks there. How did you get on the inside of Zeus' drop? I had thought that area was closed off. Anyway nice TR... There is still a path near the exit which is near the drop of the ride.
Freefallbestrideever Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 HOLY CRAP! Now that's a fireworks store! Sorry about Superman though, i farted in the queue...
