shepp Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Just got back from a trip to the East Coast, and it turns out that SFGAdv's Rise & Scream early entry for season passholders is, well, great - at least this early in the season. On Monday, we got there at 9:30 and joined all of maybe a dozen other riders at El Toro. We scored 7 rides in around 45 minutes, and could have done more, but we needed a breather or two. (Medusa was also open early.) On Tuesday, R&S rides were supposed to be El Toro and Nitro, but the bull was having problems, and Ka was open instead. Same deal - damn near nobody was there. Three consecutive front row rides with a one-train wait: not too shabby... As it got toward 10:30 opening time for the GP, there were a few more passholders straggling in, but both rides were, at least in some rows, walk-ons till the GP stampede. As the summer goes on, the park gets more crowded, and word gets around, R&S might not be quite so amazing, but for now... So just a heads-up: getting up an hour earlier is really worth it.
darklingscribe Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Did you use a Discovery Kingdom season pass?
shepp Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 ^ Yep. Any SF pass, I was told, will work just fine. Same, by the way, with a parking pass bought at one park - works chainwide.
coasterfreak101 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/events/CalendarEvents.aspx ^According to their site, it's every Monday-Thursday from June 4 to September 3. Sounds cool, I wish I was going a little earlier...I won't be there until late September.
moinab Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 In my very limited experience with SeaWorld and WDW, it seems the theme park GP just doesn't handle early mornings very well. We're early risers, so the earlier a park opens for us, the better! The crowds always seem to appear around 11 - noonish. Sounds like you had a great trip!

Well, yeah, since Rise & Scream will soon start at 9:00 am, it's safe to say that only fanatics like us will get up at 7:30 to start their day of coastering. And yes, I had a great trip - there were also those 13 rides in one day on S:ROS at SFNE - except for getting my wallet lifted on queue for El Toro. But that's another thread.
carolinacaniac Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Oh how I wish I had the time to get up to Jackson! I would love to try this out for some sweet airtime on El Toro!
