map2 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 What is the process for a theme park chain to decide on a new location. Obviously, land space, etc., but what other factors go into decide where the next theme park is built?
Gnome Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Whatever market that they can make money from is the place that they will go to.
USRoadTripper Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Local zoning is a huge factor, as well as how well an area can handle the increased traffic flow. These are the two main reasons they cite for Nashville having not gotten approval for another park yet. -Julie
thrillerman1 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Yeah what's up with us still not having a park here in Nash? OL has been gone 10 years now and still no word on any new development. Maybe BB is secretly paying off our city officials to keep out competition. KIDDING!
thomas2 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 But sometimes a themepark located near a large population and being easy accessible doesn't mean a succes. Just take Parque Warner as example: Great theming atmosphere and rides, located near Madrid, has it's own trainstation but yet it doesn't manage to attract a lot of guests. That's because the people from Madrid aren't really thrillseekers and there's already themepark (far worse than PW) in Madrid itself, which they think is as good as PW. But who would have guessed that during construction of one of Europe's top parks
