jason10 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 HI all! I finally have No Limits and I am new to it. I'm making my first coaster and I would like to find out how you make a straight lift and any other tips you can give me! Thanks so much! Edit: I called this the NL help thread for all of those people that cant get their heads round NL and just want some tips! Ask your questions and get them answered (just not by me!)
Goliath513 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Use at least 4 vertex segments so you can control where you want the straight part to be and where you want curves. In NL V1.6, select the segment that you want to straighten and press "I" that will straighten it. "Ctrl-G" will smooth out vertex segments. But be careful with this because it will affect any straight segments you have connected to the vertex. Hope this helps. EDIT: These are the controls for the Windows version. I don't know what they are for the Mac.
jason10 Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks so much. I have Microsoft and NL version 1.6 so thats good.
jason10 Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 How do you get theLaunched Inverted Shuttle coaster to stop in the station and ready again for bourding?
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 There are a few ways, wy not post the file and see if one of us can figure out the problem. Plus you didn't even mention where it is stopping specifically.
coastercrazed49 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 How do you make perfect circle turns, because mine are all screwed up and i would like to fix them.
CommanderLock Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 How do you make perfect circle turns, because mine are all screwed up and i would like to fix them. Same here. Also I want to know about steel supports, like how to work the system...
coasterlover420 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 ^^Depending on what version you have: 1.55: Download the Coaster Calculator, and it will tell you the rest. 1.6: Make it so that the radius ends at the same point for both verteces. Then make both control points on the ends the same length. Then highlight the segment by clicking on it, and press ctrl+G. Or you could try the Purgatorium, but it's not for the faint of heart.
riccoaster Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 How do you make coasters run on the track when its not completely finished?
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 You can A. set it to shuttle mode but if you have certain spots that are supposed to hold the train for a few seconds regardless of block status the will simply stop the train and release it immediately. B. Press "C" in the editor and it will add a section of track between the two ends, and it will do the same as the above but all holds will work properly, and you can run it in continuous mode.
jason10 Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 There are a few ways, wy not post the file and see if one of us can figure out the problem. Plus you didn't even mention where it is stopping specifically. Well, it come comes backwards into the station ok but then it slows don with the back of the train half way out of the staion and before where it should be. Here's the file. It's my first coaster and it needs tweaking. First.nltrack It's pretty rubbish.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Easy fix! I added a transport section in front of the station so it keeps the trains speed while going up the towers and slows it down enough for the station, and also NEVER use the tire speed in the station to launch the train, put a transport section after the station and use the launch feature. first_116.nltrack Here ya go!
