RollerC Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Park News - (4/20/07) Cedar Fair’s marketing company is pulling out the big guns and hiring ImageROCKS a contract to produce a two-spot package to promote Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom. Cedar Fair wants commercials to elicit emotion from viewers and drive up attendance at the park that is struggling to find a nitch in new marketplace. Chances are you’ve seen some of ImageROCKS work before as they’ve produced quite a number of spots for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line. This is good news for the park. The previous commercials were horrible at showcasing the place.
Calvin Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Every time I see the name of the park I read it as "Gouge Lake" and have an image in my head of that part in Halloween with the knife and the death and the boobs. Can't wait to see the new ads.
pierced_b0i Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 I hope it helps. All the times I've been there its empty and a weekend. I don't understand it.
FlyingScooter Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Any way you look at it, it couldn't hurt GL.
Masked_Maverick Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Darn so no Geauga Lake: "We is gooder." for a slogan But seriosuly I am glad that Cedar Fair is hiring a more respectable ad agency for the park it could use it and no more "It's gonna be fun!" commercials.
FlyingScooter Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 I wonder what they'll do? We're Still Here! Geauga Lake!
ECZenith Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Geuaga Lake: 2 less roller coasters, twice the fun! Nahh... But seriously ,I do wish the park the best and hope their numbers improve. Still keeping my fingers crossed for a major addition in 2008 even though by then I'll be a socal resident.
RollerC Posted April 21, 2007 Author Posted April 21, 2007 I have heard from alot of people that the park looks alot better without X-FLight blocking the view of the main entrance and midway rides.
jamesdillaman Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 ^ Yeah, X-Flight ruined the front of the park view from the parking lot. Before it was put in, it looked a lot better. If they just get rid of the old waterpark section, too, it'll look great. -James Dillaman
Masked_Maverick Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 ^ I agree I don't know why they haven't gotten rid of the old waterpark yet it looks really bad whenever I go.
RollerC Posted April 22, 2007 Author Posted April 22, 2007 It wasn't in the plans or budget. I'm sure something will be done this comming off season.
CoastersNSich Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 We're Still Here! Geauga Lake! They must be the first park to use an old Sears slogan. Just kidding! It's Kings Island. (Where else?)
