ghost007jas Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I was not able to vote in any of the categories, but great idea!
Guest Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Sweet 16 voting is 7/8 complete. Why 7/8? Because there was a TIE! The match-up in the International bracket between 2-seeded Aska and 6-seeded Colossos was tied, 7-7, at the end of the voting period. You know what that means, right? Overtime! Voting remains open in THIS MATCH-UP ONLY for an additional 24 hours in the hope of finding a winner. If it's still tied at the end of overtime, tie-breaker methodology (per the first day's entries in the tournament blog) will be utilized. In the meantime, find out which coasters won and are advancing to the Regional Championships from the other seven match-ups by visiting the blog at http://www.woodcoastermadness.blogspot.com. Have fun! -Jason
Guest Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 OK wood coaster fans, a winner has been determined in that "overtime" match-up and voting is now open in the Exciting Eight (aka Regional Championships). To find out which ride won and to vote, go to http://www.woodcoastermadness.blogspot.com. Have fun! -Jason
Guest Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Reminder: There are less than 24 hours left to vote in the Exciting Eight, and two of the four match-ups would be upsets if the voting ended immediately. Make your opinion heard! Visit http://www.woodcoastermadness.blogspot.com for a link to the ballot. Enjoy! -Jason
ghost007jas Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Is it even worth voting if I am not qualified for any of the match ups?
I love DW Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 ^Probably if your not qualified to vote in any of them there is no point to vote not qualified for all of them. So I just wouldn't vote if I were you.
Guest Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Exciting Eight results are now posted, as is the ballot for the Frightening Four. As always, http://www.woodcoastermadness.blogspot.com has it all (well, all things relating to this tournament...I neither know nor have everything, and even if I did, I don't currently have the bandwidth for it ). Enjoy. -Jason
spaceace12 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I predict a Balder Voyage Showdown with Voyage out on top!.
jamesdillaman Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Well I voted in my last matchup, as I haven't been on Balder. May the more popular coaster win!
Guest Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Reminder: there are less than 48 hours left to vote in the Frightening Four, the penultimate match-ups. As of now, there are two big surprises-- 1. The coaster in the lead in each match-up has at least 85% of the vote thus far. and 2. One of those leading coasters is the lower-seeded ride! I'm not going to say which one, but needless to say, it's a bit of a shocker if these results hold. If you've not voted and you're qualified to do so, visit the tournament blog (see signature) for a link to the ballot. -Jason
larrygator Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I voted for one fave and one underdog. These four coasters rank as my Numbers #2, 4, 5 and 12.
Guest Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Well folks, this is it. Voyage vs. Phoenix for all the marbles. A new masterpiece by the Gravity Group at one of the most enthusiast-friendly parks on Earth vs. a PTC/Schmeck preservation victory located at the best park on Earth (IMO). Thanksgiving vs. mythology. Steel support structure vs. wood support structure. Free parking vs. free parking (we ALL win in this regard ). Your votes will decide the outcome. But that's not all! Balder and Hades go at it for the "bronze medal." Thunderhead, Tremors, Boulder Dash, and Colossos are pitted against each other in a four-way battle to earn fifth place. Big Dipper and Twisted Twins (which each got bounced in the first round with zero votes) go at it to see which is the worst coaster in the U.S. to make the tournament. Plus there are a couple of questions seeking feedback about this tournament and possible future tournaments. It's all at the usual place, http://www.woodcoastermadness.blogspot.com. Enjoy! -Jason
jamesdillaman Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I'm really shocked Balder went down so heavily. Perhaps some people voted who weren't actually qualified.... I personally didn't vote in that matchup, not having been on Balder. -James Dillaman
larrygator Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Elissa will hate me, but Phoenix is one of the few coasters I prefer over Balder. Looks like I wasn't the only one.
Guest Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Update: Just one vote separates our two finalists! It's been a "back and forth battle" that's been tied on more than one occasion. If you've ridden both Voyage and Phoenix and have an opinion on which one is better, get your vote in by Wednesday afternoon. http://www.woodcoastermadness.blogspot.com Thanks in advance for chiming in! -Jason
Guest Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Wood Coaster Madness 2007 is now over and the final results have been posted. The winner is...
