Howdy All.

This is my first post.

I think that's enough of that stuff. Here's where I could use some help/advice. I'm getting married in LA on May 21st and am leaving the next day to honeymoon in Orlando...much like you guys. We're staying at the Orleans or something like that on the resort from Sunday night to Friday night and flying home on Saturday morning.

I wanted to go on a really fun trip and ride roller coasters for our honeymoon. She wanted something lame and romantic like Hawaii. I asked her if we could do a football themed wedding reception and she said she'd take care of the reception and I'll do the honeymoon. Mission accomplished. I decided on Orlando because I had a lot of fun back when I went in 2002 and knew she likes Disney as well. We have the 6 day park hopper pass, but I was REALLY hoping to go back to IOA at least one day. I was wondering if I could get some advice with this whole trip. What should we do there (besides have sex and go to the parks).

Anything extra romantic that she'd really enjoy?

How do we get cheep tickets to IOA?

What should we use our extra tickets for (disneyquest, water parks, ect)?

How would you have changed your honeymoon?

Yeah, so I guess I'm just looking for a ton of info, help, or whatever from you guys or anyone about enjoying our honeymoon. I know you both know a ton about the city and parks, and any help would be awesome.

We did the whole romantic/theme park honeymoon as well. We spent a week in Hawaii, and on the way back we stopped in LA for a week of Disneyland, KBF, and SFMM.

Big Mistake.

Hawii was awesome and very romantic. Only to be spoiled by a week in LA. Don't get me wrong, we loved DLR, KBF was fun, and SFMM was a lesson in heat exhaustion and traffic, but after spending the time in Hawii, it just paled in comparison. I have said many times that we should have skipped the week in LA for just 2 more days in Maui.

Anyway, that was in no way meant to get you down. WDW is amazing and can be very romantic. If you can afford it, be sure to catch the Cirque show at Downtown Disney. This will definetly be a hit with the new missus. Also, If you can't convince her to do IOA, try for Sea World. My wife loves dolphins and it was a great time! We even did the "Dine with Shamu" which was pretty cool as well. (Actually if you can really afford it, do Discovery Cove, it looks like a ton of fun! (From Robb's videos at least...)

Cheap tickets to IOA? Don't really know. I know last time we went we bought a 2-day never expire pass rather than the 3-day over 7days pass. We did both IOA and USF in one day and then came back the next year and used the second day to do both parks again. I don't know if they still have that one...

Extra tickets? I would hit Blizzard Beach and Pleasure Island at least once...

Congrats on getting married! And have fun on your trip. Don't take my first comments the wrong way, actually if we had done LA first then Hawaii, it wouldn't have seemed half as bad. It was just going from Paradise to...well...LA, was disappointing.

Some stuff you might want to think of doing at WDW:

Illuminations Cruise

Dinner at California Grill (this is a MUST in my opinion)

The Cirque show (as previously recommended)

I've never managed to make it to a waterpark there, but they look like fun. Pleasure Island is also fun for an evening. Be sure to check out the Explorer's Club and catch a show at the Comedy place.

As far as cheap IOA tickets, they don't exist. I think there might be an AAA discount, but it's pretty much you pay what they're charging. IOA is totally worth what they're charging, at least to me. And if you get over there, don't forget to eat at Mythos!

Have fun in FL!

WDW can be a great honeymoon!

The best advice I can give is to spare no expense, it's your honeymoon! We ate at great restaurants and had awesome desserts everywhere. Robb would buy me little trinkets that I had always wanted but never spent the money on. Order room service, don't worry about getting to the parks for opening, etc. You can really make it nice.

As for IOA, try to get there, but like everyone else said there really aren't "cheap tickets".

Let us know if you have anymore specific questions!

That really is the best advice. Take you time, and dine at the "sit-down" restaurants.

Others:

- Walk around World Showcase at night

- Ride the Carousel at MK

- Buy the silly "Ears". You might be suprised at the attention you get

- Ride "El Rio de Tiempo" in Mexico

- Watch "Wishes" from the wooden walkway/bridge in Frontierland

- Typhoon Lagoon is probably the best water park for the honeymooning couple

- Get lost behind the crowd on Tom Sawyer's island (But, don't do anything naughty )

- Ride the TTA

- Ride the Train

Not just the Regular ears...but the Wedding Ears!

We also had dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. My wife is a big Cinderella Fan she absolutely loved it. (The Steak was good too!)

!!!!!WARNING CHEESE ALERT!!!!!

After dinner, we went over to Cinderella's Wishing Well on the East side of the Castle and I had Shelly close her eyes and make a wish. She did, and when she opened them, I was down on one knee, and asked her to marry me. That really made for a romantic evening!

Thanks everyone for your help. I think another think you guys should know is that I'm 22, and she's 20. Meaning...we really don't have much money. My wonderful parents are paying for the airfare, hotel, and 6 day park hopper pass...I however front everything else. We're both from Orange County, but are up in Idaho now going to school full time and working for 7 bucks an hour. All in all, we don't have much money. Can you guys suddgest things that are fun/romantic within the resorts, but dont cost much money. I'm going to save and try to do things like room service or maybe a night at the California grill (how much is it a plate , or things like that. It'd be awesome to have the funds and tell her get whatever you want. Buy the ice cream, pen, frozen lemonade, and we'll eat out at ESPN Zone for dinner (okay, maybe that's just for me). I'm just trying to think of places we could go or little things I could do to make the difference for her. Thanks everyone for you help

Also, we've hit up everything at the California Resort, what should we be sure to do at Disneyworld? I guess...we'd like to do everything, but some priorites (mission space, test track, stitch, ect).

Rachels wonderful, and wants to go to IOA. I just don't know if skipping a day at DW which is paid for, and dropping 100 bucks for the two of us is worth it. But, for fun, what day is the least busy? How much are the day passes for Sea World and IOA? Im sorry I don't know much. Thanks again for all your help with this! I'll be sure to post pics

Hey, you don't have to spend a lot!

On our honeymoon, on Thanksgiving, Robb and I ate at the McDonalds in Downtown Disney with our wedding ears on, and it was perfect!

If money is an issue, skip IOA, you'll still have a great time at Disney for all of those days. Also, go ahead and buy the wedding ears as you'll probably wind up with enough freebies to cover the cost of them! (just don't be obnoxious and demanding!)

Even though you've done everything at the California resort make sure to hit up the 'Florida Versions' as some are quite different. (Tower of Terror in particular!)

Thanks! What exactly is the DIS Board? Also, whats the deal with the ears? I don't have any particular macho problems, but walking around with a hat on all day doesn't exactly sound too fun. I'm sure Rachel would really like to do it though (because she's a girl, and girls are lame)...just kidding...kinda. Anyway, how much were they and what "perks" if you will, came with them.

^ The ears are the "Wedding" Mouse ears that Robb and Elissa have on in their wedding photos (check out their photo gallery). When you walk through the parks, you see lots of newlywed couples wearing them. From what I have always heard, they get you lots of congrats from everyone else in the parks and also sometimes a perk or two from cast members.

I think there are plenty of "romantic" spots and things to do at WDW, without breaking the bank. Also, if you have a car and want to take some time away from the theme parks, you can drive over to the east coast beaches (we always go to Cocoa Beach, but even Daytona is only like an hour away) for a walk on the beach. (or make her get up really early and go watch the sunrise together!!).

Congratulations and have fun!

We would get our own trains and boats on the rides all the time. Some cast members would give us pins, onride photos, and people are just more friendly!

Really insane disney message boards, but they have a pretty good wedding and honeymoon board!

Did Rob feel silly wearing his? I dunno...I'm just not much of a hat guy Did you get upgrades on the hotel room, or was that just put in with the whole wedding package you guys had? What did Rob do for you (if I don't mind asking) that was remarkibly romantic? I've gotten a lot of good ideas from the board, and I'll be sure to use them I'm currently getting info from the ladies on the DISboard about my romantic handicap. Thaks for your help.
