What was wrong with Thunder Dolphin?...

Hey Robb,

 

I watched all of the Japan-a-mania DVD's and I noticed that after your ride on Thunder Dolphin at La Qua, you and Elissa were badmouthing the thing.

 

I'm puzzled because it looks like such an awesome coaster. What in the world was wrong with it?

Trust me, we thought it looked awesome too!

 

The lift hill and first drop were great, but the rest of the ride was just kind of blah. No Airtime, no good speed, no good twistyness, just kind of 'eh'.

 

If you watch the video you can even hear me say "It should have been Soooo Good!".

^ Wasn't that ride all right-hand turns? That'd be kinda boring if you ask me...

Good point. Isn't Disneyland's Space Mountain almost all right turns as well?

I liked it, but yeah it could've been alot better. The weird 'trick track' element was so lame, it did nothing, but the first drop was great. What really annoyed me was the amount of speed you have coming into the brake run after the final drop, the ride could've been alot longer...

^^^It's like a NASCAR drivers worst nightmare!!! Yeah I though the thing looks freeking sweet when I first saw it, but from watching the video, it looks like it just coasts around the roof of some buildings at 40 mph after the first drop. How interesting and exciting......

Parque España would have put some escalators between the buildings to get the highest and fastest escalator ride ever seen !!

I have to say i Loved Thunder Dolphin.

Maybe I`m just starved of coasters in Dubai.
