I'm taking my first Trip to Walt Disney World this December (Dec 16th to 24th)! I can't wait to check all the parks around there..

I wanted to know what the weather is like in Orlando in December?

Does it rain? Is it hot or cold.

Also how do I manage my time while i'm there?

I don't want to waste anytime and see all that i can see!!

Thanks for any suggestions and tips

I've gone to WDW in early/mid December for the last 8 years, and the weather is generally cool in the mornings and evenings, and warmer during the day. Like, you start out wearing a jacket, have it hanging around your waist most of the day, then put it back on again after the sun sets. Of course, one year that I went (2 or 3 years ago) it was freezing cold the whole time! I don't think I've ever been when I'd describe it as shorts weather though!

As for how to plan your day...that's a very complex question! Best bet is to buy an unofficial guidebook (The Unofficial Guide and PassPorter's Guide to WDW are good ones) and start reading. http://www.allearsnet.com is also a great source of WDW info.

December weather is strange in Florida. One day might be cold and wet and the next will be warm! Pack long pants and shorts.

Wow, I'm going to Disney the same exact dates. Pretty weird. Anyways, coming from a Floridian, weather down here is very strange. The past two times I've been to Disney in December, it's been freezing cold. Other times, it's cool in the mornings and then warmer. IMO MGM is the best park because of ToT and Rock-n-Roller Coaster. I'd also check out Animal Kingdom's Expedition Everest. It's really fun. Magic kingdom doesn't have intense thrill rides but has the three mountains: Thunder Mountain, Splash Mounatin, and Space mountain. All are very fun. Epcot is cool if your interested in the country pavillions and a couple thrill rides. They aslo have an AWESOME holiday display with tons of lights.

Hope i helped!

**Also, MGM has the Osbourne Family Christmas Lights, a huge amount of lights that cover a section of the park. I've never been but I've heard it's very cool**

the best advice is what USRoadTripper said....definitely get a book and some information, and plan what you want to do

even with less ppl than you would have in the summertime, (in June when we go its always nuts, but we love the hot weather) the parks have so much ground to cover that you will waste precious time if you arent a bit familiar with where things are and have some idea of what you want to see. you can spend an hour finding something that you didnt realize was just around the corner in the other direction....

we use the Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World, which is a great reference for hotels, restaurants, the parks and other activities such as what you can do in Downtown Disney

have a great time!!! you will be hooked for life!

Take advantage of those extra magic hours if you stay on property. That way you can see lots of stuff and ride later when the lines are not to long. Also go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Worth the extra price of the ticket.
