Me and my dad are planning to buy a video camera. We're gonna use it for multi purpose. My dad gonna use it for work and I 'll use it as Theme Park Camera. Until right now, we've done some browsing and found that we're considering between these two types...

DVD Video Camera

Hard Disk Video Camera

Can you please help me? Which one do you think is better? And if you want to, please tell the positive and negative side of these two.

For all of the possible responses, I'll say thank you very much.

Neither. Get one that records to DV tapes.

A hard drive or DVD based camera will NOT be good for theme parks. There's too much that can fail if the thing gets shaken too much. DVD based cameras are not good if you want to do anything with the footage later on, too.

DVD Cameras are not good at recording stuff on the fly. Best bet for now is a DV cam. To be honest, they should make high end camcorders that record onto a high capacity SD card or CF card...then you don't have to worry about mechanical parts, damaged tapes, DVDs that failed finalizing and all that. For now, stick with DV cam.
