mr_teisco_delrey Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I just saw this link on Screamscape. Evidently some guy is wanting to have Beech Bend closed. http://www.screamscape.com/html/beech_bend.htm This is not good. The guy is evidently being a real pill. Here are letters to the editor supporting Dallas Jones (the first two) http://bgdailynews.com/letters/ The guy bringing up the suit is an ex attorney so this could get drawn out for quite a while.
Gnome Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 The guy sounds like a d!k. I doubt it will go very far, he's only one stupid person.
ginzo Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Park News - (9/15/06) In a confusing twist of events, it seems an ex-employee of Beech Bend who bought a house near the park, has started a fight to get the park, campground and connected speedway all closed down. He claims that the entire Beech Bend site is only zoned for Agriculture use and that the state hasn’t been enforcing it’s own zoning laws for years. It’s quite twisted and involved a few subplots about ownership over a road he claims is his private road, but is frequently used for speedway traffic, and much more. Click here to read the whole story. I can't see this going very far. If the zoning was wrong, then how did Beech Bend get a building permit for Rumbler? Furthermore, I'd imagine the parcel can be rezoned if necessary. Oh well, there's always some doofus who wants to spoil the fun.
HCOSurfer90 Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Why did he even bother moving to a house so close to the park then?
ECZenith Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 What a tool... where is the shame in all this? These people that move next to theme parks and cry about it just need to gather themselves and replant on some remote island.
