zztopless Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Hi everybody! Just wondering, for those that have been to Holiday Park, is there any budget-style accomodation within walking distance from the park? Cheers.
thomas2 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 You can find some hotels on the park's website http://www.holidaypark.de/hp_englisch/indexset.html Click on the 'Infocenter' button on the top of the page, and then under 'service' click on Overnight accomodation/Partnerhotels. There's alot of info on that page Hopes this helps!
robinschroder Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Hi - I stayed at the Pfalz Hotel in Hassloch last year which was perfectly comfortable (contact them via kontakt@pfalzhotel-hassloch.de) although it's worth noting that whilst Holiday Park's nearest town is Hassloch, the park is kind of in the middle of nowhere so you won't really find anywhere to stay within walking distance. I caught a taxi from the hotel to and from the park, which probably wasn't the cheapest option! If you have a car, you'll be fine however. Another option to bear in mind (if you don't drive) is that there is a bus service that runs from Hassloch train station to and from the park (click on Infocenter - Directions and then click on 'bus transfer' right at the bottom of the page on the Holiday Park website). So, if you stay in Hassloch near to the station (and I'll point out now that the Pfalz Hotel isn't what I'd consider 'near' to the station) you could make use of that. Or you could stay in a town / city further away from Hassloch, and take the train there and back for the day... etc. Good luck! And enjoy Expedition GeForce!! Here's a picture of the bus transfer: The bus leaves from the opposite side of the station to the ticket office.
SharkTums Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Yeah the park is kind of in the middle of nowhwere. It seems a lot of the European parks don't have hotels walking distance from them. We stayed at a Novotel in Mannheim.
zztopless Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Thanks alot for the replies We will be travelling on a Eurail pass, so it might make sense to arrive in the morning (probably coming from frankfurt) and leave again in the afternoon. For those of you who have ridden it, does Expedition Geforce inspire one to stay all day to ride, or should half a day suffice?
SharkTums Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 It's more like a 3/4 of a day park. GeForce will be half of your day, the rest of the park takes 1/4. Of course it always depends on how crowded, what time of year, weather, etc.
