Does anyone know "Maui Jim" Sunglasses?

Does anyone know "Maui Jim" Sunglasses?

 

Today came a new sales representative in our optican store and told us, he have some very good new sunglasses for us, called "Maui Jim". I told him I never heard that brand before. He said these are the best sunglasses I can ever get. In the USA it is on place no. 1 and "Ray Ban" is only on place no. 2! Everyone in the US know what is "Maui Jim" and everyone want to have these sunglasses!

However, I think it is the best to ask a real american person, our members.

Is it really true? Are "Maui Jim" the best sunglasses? Did you ever buy it? Or can anyone tell me something about "Maui Jim"?

I've never heard of Maui Jim Sunglasses!

 

I consider the big ones in the US to be:

 

Oakley

Ray Ban

Nike

Bolle

then all the designer brands!

I used to own a pair of Maui Jim's. $200 sunglasses and were the best pair I ever owned. (Stupid Hulk ate them when I didn't secure them! Now I just get $10 Wal-Mart Polarized Glasses, and don't worry about scratching or losing them!) You can check them out at Sunglass Hut.

 

Another great brand (Still like $200) are Revo's. Good thing I've vowed never to buy expensive shades again!

I've never heard of Muai Jim Sunglasses. I've only heard of the ones Elisa said.

 

Then again, I don't look at Sunglasses since I have to wear glasses. I want a pair of perscription sunglasses but I think they are too expensive for me to afford. =(

Yea, Elissa named all the top name brands in America. I haven't heard of Maui Jim's either. Here in South Florida, the big designers are the trend, (Versace, Armani, CK, De La Rente, Sean Paul, etc...) It seems like everyone has no problem spending $500+ on a pair of shades. I certainly don't get it.

Thanks for your answers. It looks like Maui Jim is not really a great brand in the US. Good to know that.

However, I dont like the sales representative and I think I will not buy the Maui Jim sunglasses collection!

No, Maui Jim is not a discount brand, the sunglasses are very expensive ($200.- and more).

I think you are the only one on the boards who really know that brand, and ever bought a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses.

I'm familiar with Maui Jim's - expensive, in the Oakley price range.

They must just be a thing in Jersey then because when i started my job, three other people also had Maui Jim's.
