jamesdillaman Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Just saw this on the news, the owner is offering a reward for an information on who did it. Here's a link: http://www.middletownjournal.com/local/content/news/stories/2006/08/08/080806lakevandalism.html Sad, sad. -james dillaman
ECZenith Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Too bad the park didn't still have the haunted house. If they catch the scumbags they could have made them into some permanent props... That Drano The Elephant joke was beyond lame.
jamesdillaman Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 Wish I knew who did it, that $2000 reward would sure come in handy right now...
DerekRx Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Probably some disgruntled ACErs looking to add the coasters to their list. Still, I thought the park was closed forever and would never reopen. The lake was probably drained so they could asphault it and park more RVs there.
jamesdillaman Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 ^ Actually, I had a sit down talk with a friend of the owner, and Jim doesn't want to completely tear it down, he wants to turn it into an RV park. A couple rides are to be spared and reopened eventually. The lake was drained as they are working on redoing the park to reconfigure it as a stay-overnight sort of thing. The Log Flume, Coaster, and Carousel are supposedly going to stay. -James Dillaman
ginzo Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 This incident is sad. They should get some big german shepherds to guard the place at night. I hope the Screechin' Eagle is open to the public before long. I never got to ride it, and I live in the region.
TheKlockster Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Yeah I can't believe anyone would do that. What do they possibly accomplish? Lesourdsville Lake is home to my first coaster ever.
QuakerOaties Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Those kids are cool. I hope I can hang out with them sometime. Mark "I am moving to Ohio after all" Luskus
