Goliathdude Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Do any of you guys or girls know if Xcelerator is open during the costruction by it? If its not do you think it will be open by the 5th?
Rollerholden Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 What construction are you talking about? Anyways, have fun on Xcel! It's awesome!
GMAN962 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Construction? I dont know of any construction around it.
Goliathdude Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 I was looking for info about the 5th and i saw this heres the link http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/kbf7.28.06/
Rollerholden Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^ Hmm that's interesting. And also, that pic of the new Perilious Plunge boats scared me! I thought they were on Xcelerator! Restraints like that would definately make it a little less thrilling. I love those Intamin T-bars!
HOYS Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 http://hoys.extremepki.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-122 Thats what used to be there. I dont see how it would affect the operation of Xcel since it isnt in the lockout zone... ...First post on TPR.
GMAN962 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I was looking for info about the 5th and i saw this heres the link http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/kbf7.28.06/ I think that's old, i dont remeber seeing things like that around it. Then again I never went over there. I dont think something like that would affect whether it works or not. If your going to Knott's, Enjoy your trip!
chaos Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^^I never remember that being there, and I don't think I'm old enough to start losing my memory. I thought there were just some benches there or something.
Top Thrill Dragster Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 The new boats are great, you get the same if not more airtime than Xcelerator.
Gnome Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 and less splash to, which isn't bad, imo, because you got to wet on Perilous plunge anyways. As for construction on Xcelerator, I find it very odd that they didn't do it during the off season, instead of peak season. But w/e floats thier boat, I guess.
CedarPoint420 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 They're building a 3 Point Challenge next to xcelerator.
CedarPoint420 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^It's a basketball style game that CedarFair has installed at Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, Kings Island, and Worlds of Fun. Heres the one at Cedar Point. http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=3532 And this picture of the one at Kings Island really shows how busy they are. http://www.extremepki.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=78&pos=3 It costs $5 to play. The object of the game is to make as many 3 pointers as possible in 60 seconds(I think). As you make more baskets the prizes get better. They range from stuffed animals and giant basketballs to Basketball Jerseys and Ipod's. They're big money makers and there's always a line to play. I belive somone that works at Worlds of Fun said the first day it was open they made $1,000.
knottslover77 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^Your right I was there yesterday And Thats what ther building.Xcelerator was so rough while GhostRider, Backcar, row 1 ,was smooth. --Jay
Rollerholden Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^ Why would you even risk ghostrider in the back car?
knottslover77 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^Becuase it's smoother than even riding 1 row In front of it(I ride the back hands up having fun, I ride car six screaming in pain, even my friends say the same thing).
Rollerholden Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^ Hmm okay, well I rode it last summer in the back row, and a part of me died inside on it. It did have nice airtime though.
Rollerholden Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^Backcar row 1. Yeah...unless they re-track it, I don't have a need to ride Ghostrider again. I thought Xcelerator was great though!
knottslover77 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^I think they re-tracked the drop thats a start.
Top Thrill Dragster Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^I think they re-tracked the drop thats a start. They did, and they re-tracked the drop and hill after the MCBR.
Rollerholden Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 ^I think they re-tracked the drop thats a start. They did, and they re-tracked the drop and hill after the MCBR. The ejector hill?!
