Kid_A_37 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Heading to Geauga Lake. Anybody know of a cheap but nice place to stay in Aurora, with possible ticket package? Also, would Cedar Point be worth the hour drive from GL.
bleedsnomore134 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Definatley. Cedar Point has tons of coasters that are great. But it is a wee bit expensive. Plus the drive isn't bad at all from Geauga lake.
mcjaco Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I stayed in the La Quinta in Macedonia. It's about ten minutes from GL. I think it was $67 a night. Not bad with the continental breakfast.
ECZenith Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 All I can say is that Cedar Point was worth the 16 hour drive from Rhode Island, so yeah.
okinawaboy11 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Definatley. Cedar Point has tons of coasters that are great. But it is a wee bit expensive. Plus the drive isn't bad at all from Geauga lake. Not expensive at all! Jeeze, lol if Cedar Point was say, down in Orlando, they would be charging like 70 bucks for a single day ticket. Seriously, 40 bucks for an entire day at a park with 16 coasters? Thats a steal. I would say Both, Cedar Point if you can only do one. AND if you are a member of AAA or ACE than you get even more of a discount. Or Military too.
Kid_A_37 Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 I chose geauga lake originally for the value and I heard there were no lines or waiting times like cedar point. I'm also looking foward to the water park. I plan to stay in OH for at least 2 days, should this time be split up between the two parks?
mcjaco Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 You can get all GL credits in about two hours tops, if that's all you're going for. The water park was pretty cool, my wife and I were bummed that we didn't bring our suits.
FlyingScooter Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 And La Quinta serves fresh waffles in its breakfasts! There is no lack of places to stay or shop around geauga lake. But you can't beat free Waffles! Go with both parks. How often can you say you went on 26 differant coasters in one weekend?
