ConleyKE Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I went to Cedar Point a few years ago, but this year I am going in July on a Monday and a Tuesday. We are staying at the Lighthouse Point cabins so we will have the early entry to the park I understand. What rides will be open for the early entrance thing, and since I will be entering from the back of the park near Mean Streak (I think), should I go to them first? So basically, what's the best route to take to hit as many rides as possible and avoid the crowds? Thanks!
odene497 Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Last I knew the early access rides were MF and TTD, but I'm not sure if it's changed now
CedarPoint420 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Raptor, maXair, SkyHawk and Millennium Force are the early entry rides.
Rollerholden Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 We didn't have the early access, but we got in at 9:30 when they dropped the rope and went right to Millennium Force, and the whole trip we never waited over 40ish minutes for it. If it rains, and then seems like it's slowing down, you should go to TTD since that line gets very long and even if it doesn't look long, it will take long because they have slow operations.
Carnage Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 you should go to TTD since that line gets very long and even if it doesn't look long, it will take long because they have slow operations. When TTD is running it has some of the fastest operations in the park. It's capacity is huge when it's running well. TTD has it's share of weather/mechanical related problems, but slow operations isn't a problem.
Rollerholden Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 ^ Well all I know is that when I was there, they were running 5 trains, and were dipatching the double station almost every 5 minutes. It took 20 minutes from getting in the station.
Carnage Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 ^ That'd definetly not the norm. It is the norm however if they're having mechanical or weather related problems. If there's no mechanical problems, on a warm sunny summer day they are usual launching trains every minute or less.
CoasterFanatic Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 ^^ if you look at his TR, it was raining off and on that day. "Optimal" operations on TTD send the two trains to the staging area about every 2 to 2.5 minutes. So you are looking at about ... 1080 ppl/hr
Rollerholden Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 ^But we had ERT 2 of our 3 nights there on TTD, so with 3 train operation I got 5 rides in an hour.
Carnage Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 That sounds like some pretty weird operations for ERT. I've never seen TTD run 3 trains. I've only seen 5 and 6 car operations the times I've been there.
odene497 Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 When I was in line for TTD I would count on my watch and they'd launch a train every 50-60 seconds
