coasterlover420 Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 yes, it is here. The coaster a couple of people were waiting for and most people had no idea it existed!! Yay!! I think this station is cool! How 'bout you? First you are greeted by a nice long tunnel drop! Ice Streak.nlpack
benzo41190 Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Great Coaster! I really like the ice shape things!
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Your shaping needs a lot of work, especially your transitions. There were many moments where the track would just vear off to the side. Also, next time you AHG a track like this, try to up the filter a lot, because that should help with your transition problems, and the sudden banks. The top of your lift could definitely be tightened up a bit, too.
coasterlover420 Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 ^ 1. Filter=120 I think that's high enough. 2. Why does it matter if the top of the lift is tight? 3. Please explain in more detail or pics "sudden banks" Â Thanks!
benzo41190 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I didn't find anything wrong with the banking or the drop. If the drop is tight, so what...and there are sudden banks....that gives the ride experience.
coasterlover420 Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 ^Seriously (maybe he's just jealous! lol)
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Or maybe Im saying that some the entrances and exits from your turns and helixes are too sudden and wouldn't be very comfortable to ride in real life. I'm trying to give you constructive criticism, but if you're going to be stupid about it and deny the fact that your track shaping is sub-par, EVEN FOR A HANDBUILT RIDE, than you can go ahead and continue releasing tracks that don't achieve their full potential.
coasterlover420 Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 Why don't you release a track then? I'd love to see a handbuilt ride that does better than mine.
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Okay. All of these were handbuilt, or handbuilt and then AHG. Â Inertiatic was built far before the lementary or the AHG were around. it was also built before heartlinign was implimented into NL so the G reading will be a bit off now, but the track shaping is still very very good and flows very well aside from the flat section at the end where I couldnt figure out another way to finish the ride and have it flow well with the rest of the ride. Â Link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=146 Â Virgil was built for a CoasterSims challenge, and I couldn't use the sim because my computer is messing up lately. Still,f rom what I'm told it only pulls somewhere around 5 Gs? A little more? I'm not sure because I can't check, either way, although those are sustained for a bit the track is still pretty good aside from a couple moments where I accidentally adjusted a vertex and had to hand place and shape it back to the best of my ability. (uploaded) Â Conveluted, although hilarious misspelled, is an earlier track. I won't cop out that being a woodie excuses some of it's problems, mainly the absolutely non-heartlined entrance and exit from that helix, but overall it's pretty okay. Â Link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=145 Â Here are some ride that I threw, most for obvious reasons, away for others to do as they pleased at the NLDC scrapyard: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/scrapyardtracks/194-BiCoastalKid-CSChallenge1.nltrack http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/scrapyardtracks/184-BiCoastalKid-MiniProjectHyper1.nltrack http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/scrapyardtracks/96-BiCoastalKid-Twisty.nltrack http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/scrapyardtracks/94-BiCoastalKid-VenusHelixes.nltrack http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/scrapyardtracks/86-BiCoastalKid-Togo.nltrack http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/scrapyardtracks/85-BiCoastalKid-Ritaesque.nltrack http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/scrapyardtracks/52-BiCoastalKid-GerstlaurBobsled.nltrack http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/scrapyardtracks/51-BiCoastalKid-CaliScreaminTribute.nltrack Virgil.nltrack Here ya go.
coasterlover420 Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 1. Inertiatic There was a little bit of jerking in there. Â 2. Virgil There's no inversions, so the transitions are going to be better anyway. Â I liked some of the Junkyard coasters as well!
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I'm not a fan of inversions. Iu only have a couple that have inversions, one of which is about to be junkyarded because the transitions are pretty bad. Not that i tried to smooth, it's just an idea coaster, but really.... there's a couple transitions on it that are just bad. Â Other than that I have a couple "okay" ones on CoasterSims thatd id have to upload here.
coasterlover420 Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 What do you set "heartline" to in the AHG?
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 (What do you set the setting "Heartline" to? In some of them it didn't seem right.) Â Which ones seemed weird? If it was thw woodies, I know I didnt do those correctly because I wanted them to either under or overexaggerated so that they weren't 'perfect" and would give some laterals.
Guest Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 well coasterlover420 I must admit, I liked that coaster, nice work. I also liked how you put them ice things on loops and in the scenery, great
coasterlover420 Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Which ones seemed weird? If it was thw woodies, I know I didnt do those correctly because I wanted them to either under or overexaggerated so that they weren't 'perfect" and would give some laterals. Â No, I meant in the AHG. The number.
Guest Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 thats a long long story, I didn't make my mind up completly if I was going to defect I wouldn't even say, when I said ok, cya I didn't mention anything about completley leaving, I was wanting to see coasterlover420's no limits coaster so i'm glad I waited, once again, good coaster, but can anyone remember a song called Tubthumping by Chumbawamba??? well thats like me, well not quite, I sometime forgive and forget my comments and am willing to forget them, for good, however I will say I never went to coasterbuzz as I did sign up ages ago and still don't like it anyway,
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Which ones seemed weird? If it was thw woodies, I know I didnt do those correctly because I wanted them to either under or overexaggerated so that they weren't 'perfect" and would give some laterals. Â No, I meant in the AHG. The number. Â I knew exactly what you were talking about. I asked what rides didn't feel right. I can probably give explainations if it's for specific rides, or just specific areas on rides.
redunzelizer Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 BiCostal Kid, I'd just recommend you keeping out of this thread! Â You are about to be trapped in utter ignorance. Do youself a favor and don't step on these stoopid banana peels. A sub-mediocre track like that one, in combination with the blind self confidence of it's creator, is a deadly tarpit, impossible to come by with any reasonable argument... Â redunzelizer

No, I meant in the AHG. The number.  I knew exactly what you were talking about. I asked what rides didn't feel right. I can probably give explainations if it's for specific rides, or just specific areas on rides.  Well, for all types. What do you use?
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Ummm, it depends on the style because the heartline height is different for all the track styles....
coasterlover420 Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 I'm asking you to make a list for all of them.
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Oh god, I wouldnt have any idea. Except for Virgil, the minihyper, and the CSChallenge small coaster, those were made all maybe a year or more ago. Aside from the "Venus Helixes" I believe I used the listed heartline heights for them all. I know on the Venus Helixes I think I set the heartline higher than it should have been to make it seem more "swingy" when transitioning between turns.
coasterlover420 Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Whatever. You're still not listing numbers.
