I love your style of building parks! It seems like its the type of building RCT2 was created for, bright, colorful, full, and just fun looking parks! Keep up the great work!
I agree 100%, I really miss parks that are just plain fun, the way the game is supposed to be!
Great Job on keeping the things simple, colorful and busy Rudie
Going to sound stupid but I love the picture of all the guests being forced to use one path.
^^ Nice to see you again TLM!, I know Flashback was not a B&M but Hurricane kind of reminds of it.
-
That is one very nice custom ride Blah!, and welcome to TPR! Your name is very familiar for some reason, NE maybe? Anyway it looks like it will be a great addition to your park Coupon.
-
Sorry I haven't commented much lately been a little busy (that SORRY also goes to all the parks that I had been following). But wow was I happy to just pop in here. Braztaz buddy, I am very impressed with how much this park has changed since I saw it last! Great job on the buildings. The Frog Hopper and its surroundings are perfect, loving the layout of Little Rover. The only thing I am not excited about is the far end of Blue Abyss. From the picture it looks just a giant mess, the rest of the coaster and the station look great.

Sorry, I don't have either one of those, wish I did though. If you get your hands on them please post them here when you get the chance.
Also, if you ask for them over there in the forums you might get lucky and get them. They have a lot of things posted as being out here in RCT2 world somewhere but over the years and several computer crashes later many are lost and may be lost forever.

RCT2 MODIFIED
This is what the game looks like using RCT2 Modified, you will notice all the normal game tabs have been altered. This picture of a Six Flags Majestic Lake by djbrace1234. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55595&start=0
What really is RCT2 MODIFIED? Well... it is a revamped version of the games G1 file. The G1 file holds all the hard coded items for the game such as ride tracks, stations, guest and staff animations, water splashes and so on.
With RCT2 Modified you don't even need the RCT2 disk in your computer to run the game.
Some how someone was able to get into the G1 file and change things around giving the game a new face and many added features like black land tiles, invisible ride entrance & exit huts along with invisible ride bases and so on. It really is Hex Editing made easy. If you ever come across a saved game file the is an SV7 you have found a park that was built using RCT2 Modified. There are quite a few of them out there and most are very nice parks. Don't be afraid to try this version of RCT2. It shouldn't hurt a thing, it is completely reversible. Just to be safe you should make a BACKUP of your RCT2 folder (G1 file in particular) in case something goes wrong.
Unfortunately RCT2 Modified really never caught on and is no longer an acceptable way to share your saved games with others but that does not mean you can't use it for yourself and just have some fun.
If you would like to play RCT2 in the MODIFIED way download the setup installer HERE and give it a go.
To uninstall RCT2 Modified go to Add or Remove Programs in your Control Panel and click on Remove.
Want to see some parks made with RCT2 Modified?, PM me about it and I will send you a few.
<<<WARNING>>> Windows 7 and RCT2 Modified do not work well together, please backup your RCT2 game before trying it. People using Vista may also encounter problems. Like RCT2 itself, RCT2 Modified was released before these operating systems were ever in-visioned. It works best with Windows XP. Issues have also been reported with RCT2M and the Triple Thrill Pack. **BACKUP** YOUR GAME **BEFORE** USING RCT2M.

What is this RCT/RCT2 thread all about? Simply, it is a place to find what you need to open and edit parks. With RCT/RCT2 sites disappearing at an alarming pace it is getting harder and harder to find items for these games. In the case of RCT2 most scenery items will export with saved games but most rides will not. So here they are, in a totally search-able fashion. If you can't get a park to open this should be the first place you come to try and fix the issue.
HOW TO search this topic.
Once this topic is opened if you look up to the top left (right under the topic name) you will see a search box. That search box only searches this topic. Enter the DAT code you need to find and hit search. It will now take you to the post(s) that have that item located in it. The items id will be highlighted. Just scroll down to you find it.
Please DO NOT POST IN THIS TOPIC.

Thanks for your patience and lets all hope this works out for every-one's benefit.
I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all those wonderful people who made so many great utilities, patches, trainers, rides and everything else for the RCT/RCT2 games. Without you these the games would have died long ago. Hopefully all your hard work will have a safe place to stay for many year to come providing many more people the chance to use and enjoy your amazing contributions to the game(s).
I also want to express my gratitude to the games forums leader/dictator/moderator mcjaco (Matt) for keeping this forum running so smoothly. Your passion for these games shows in your own RCT work and in the way you moderate this area of TPR.
A bit of information for all those people out there that do not know who runs and pays for TPR, Robb Alvey. A man who actually worked with Chris Sawyer creating the games we all love so much. Don't believe it? Well it's true and to prove it all you have to do is type in the name cheat Elissa White. She is his wife now and of course would be better known around here as SharkTums. So I want to send out a big THANK YOU to both Robb and Elissa for allowing me to use up so much of TPR's resources, paying for it all and of course for helping create one of the best computer games the world has ever seen. The series has been going and growing for over 10 years now, very few computer games ever have nor ever will be as successful as RCT. Congratulations!
The next post will start the list...
-
^ Since the track type is that of a Crooked House the ratings would be based on that just like when you make a water slide. This is where the SOB trainer can help get the excitement up to where it belongs for such a ride.
-
Good one djbrcace1234, very well done. I will have to give this a try very soon!
-
Let me get with mcjaco and see if it is OK to go ahead and post everything, I don't want jump the gun if he and Robb have other plans they are working on.
-
^ you definitely need to focus on your school right now and not worry about this RCT stuff. Thanks for trying and I have no doubts that in time if you choose to pick it up again you will succeed. Please do your homework and get to class!
I was going to make a big folder as I have about 50 custom rides or so.Thanks for going through everything and trying to put it all together, I know just how much work is involved with doing that. But...
You guys have seen the way I post objects and such when requested with a picture and then the download, Would you all rather have the rides set up the same way so you can pick through them all and basically shop for what you want or just in one big folder? If we do this right it can be a place to link new members to so they can find what they need for months/years to come.
This could be done in a night or two and be a great resource for the entire RCT2 community here at TPR.
-
The link to the bench is back on page a page in one of my posts.
mcjaco, the RCT2 Object List is back up and running.
Also there have been a couple of requests for a list and downloads of all RCT2 custom rides in the Lost Object Data topic. If you were wanting to start an RCT2 link/data base topic or merge one with the RCT3 topic you might want to head over and stop the posting while you get things set up the way you are wanting them to be.
-
OK, no luck on finding the sound files for the rides in the game yet, but to give something to waste over 3 minutes of your life with here is a video showing all the animations required to make any kind of sit down B&M coaster.Thought since I was going through this giant file you might want to just how much work went in to just one ride type in RCT2.
-
Those are sounds I have never tried to find and they are not located with all the other games sounds. I will get out my G1 tool when I get home and see if they are located in with the games tracks and other hard coded items.
-
I definitely agree the building is too small for the type of roof you used and as for all the glitching that I have seen in so many parks and people mentioning I really don't understand what is going on. In all the parks I have ever built I never had the problem with glitching that seems to at epidemic proportions these days. Is it the NE bench that is causing most of it or other NE parks being used as benches?
Just wondering and trying to figure out what is going on. This problem should not be happening as often as it seems to be. BTW emberfoot4565, it is completely fixable so don't worry about it. You just need to get a copy of the SOB trainer and follow these instructions.
Open your park and then start SOB.
Use the "0" clearance option and wait about a minute.
Open 8cars and use the restore clearances.
The clearances should now be fixed if not...
Exit everything and restart your computer then try the steps above once more.
-
Just from the pictures I can tell I am going to enjoy seeing this more than any of your other work up to this point. Great job on bringing some life and style to your coaster! Will give this a good look when I get home this afternoon.
-
^ I would really like to help you out but I need more information, Can you show a picture of what your issues are with those scenery items or try to explain better what problems your having?
Just want to toss this out there that to get full effect from most CS building blocks you need to use 8cars trainer and 0 clearance items onto each other...
-
I forgot the most important place of all when it comes to items for RCT2. The RCT2 Object List has just about every item ever created for the game. The site is down right now for an major upgrade. I am crossing my fingers that when it is back they will have activated the download buttons on the items they have stored. If not all you have to do is look around and find what you want and then ask for it. In about a day or so they will post the items requested.
-
Your coaster are simple yet not boring, good job on that. Love the over the top scenery around the mouse, it works very well there. The row of carrots you have to go between at the end made me smile. Also liked the water section on the suspended coaster. The two tower rides where a nice addition also. But my new favorite in the park would have to be ^THAT^ stand up. So small and so perfect!
-
Nope, the layout is GREAT! But unlike larger coasters where the transition from such a huge track difference (in looks) would not be so bad in this case the ride is very compact (as it should be) and putting in a merge is really noticeable and to me will take away the clean look of the design you have created.
It really comes down to looks, the ride design wise is solid and very eurofighter looking, however to get the lift you need B&M track witch in not eurofighter-ish at all. However if you switch the entire track to B&M style it will keep a clean uniform look to it. Once you put the Mini Steel track in it look gets chopped up. I do absolutely agree that the Mini Steel track is much better suited to be eurofighter track but in this case I think I would leave it out and go with the clean lines of one track style.
This is where I really wish someone with code skills would get into this game and figure out how to add track pieces to this game... almost all the track styles are there to make just about any kind of coaster in the world. They just need to have new pieces put into each ride type. Making a track section that is vertical, looped or rolled out of Mini Steel would be so easy to do, there is just no way to get it in the game even if it was done! Then there is the problem of ride car/train animation limitations, we need a way to add those also.
-
The track looking like eurofighter track was killed before you ever put the Mini Steel track in there. The ride never had a chance to ever really look like a eurofighter, the track is just not there to work with. The B&M track looks fine and chopping it up to put in a bit of eurofighter-ish track only adds to the problem of not having the right track in the first place.
Really, it is your coaster and I will be happy to merge it if that is what you want but honestly I think keeping it all B&M track will make for a much cleaner look in the end.
-
My only comment at the moment is really to ask why do you want to merge that horrible Mini Steel track onto that great looking coaster? I would just leave it all B&M so it keeps with a constant clean look.

First off I want to say thank you publicly to djbrace1234 for his help with RCT2M section of the Download Topic. Once I read his comments about it I decided to try it out myself and played around with with for several hours.
Here is what I learned and am sorry to have to disagree with you djbrace1234. The thing about RCTM is they didn't add new things the G1 file they just altered the way they look. Everything is still there just as it was so you can switch back and forth at any time and it is really simple to do so. When you install RCTM all the SV6 files become file types that Windows no longer knows what to do with so all you have to do is change the file type to SV7 and when you uninstall RCTM SV7 files become a file type Windows no longer knows what to do with so you can switch them back to SV6. I just tested it with some of the SV7 parks I have and they converted over to SV6 without any problems.
May I ask what version of Windows you (djbrace1234) were using at the time you RCTM installed? I am wondering if like with 8cars and it really comes down to what Windows version you have as to how well some things work.
