  1. Utility and Infrastructure is what is going to cost a lot of Money. This is why Lagoon ran a new powerline loop around the park, so they can literally tap into it wherever they need to in the future. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  2. Zamperla Volare? lol Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  3. Samurai was closed all of 2017 after a tree fell on the MCC at the end of 2016. It got a new MCC, new paint, and since it re-opened, it's been operating wonderfully, except when it can't find zero. I've yet to see it go down for an entire day or even hours. Also, the new South Bathrooms are what replaced Screamer. As of Today, they are installing tile at the entrance. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  4. ...and if they cancel or reschedule the opening again, they are not obligated to refund your money. Sounds totally legit! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  5. The hottest part of the day, so from noon to probably 4pm on weekdays, or open to 4pm. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  6. Sounds like it was a bump. That's good. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  7. Cannibal, Roller Coaster, BomBora, and Jet Star 2 all have Co-Gens and can/do operate in the event 1 or more legs of power have been lost. Not sure if Roller Coaster's Co-Gen is back online after they moved it to the other side of Reduction or not. Most other rides at Lagoon have Generators, or other means, to power the rides or lower/move them to a home position, resulting in ride evacs in only extreme cases. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  8. The front of Coaster's new trains are growing on me....still don't love them. Lagoon is fully capable of doing something amazing and have the expertise to build an amazing looking front railing. The Terroride rebuild was fricken fantastic and can only wish the same for Castle maybe next year. Guess we'll see each other on the train ride. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  9. I thought the faux wood painted columns with faux rope for Cannibal was pretty darn awesome. There's also many other people from this site who have visited Lagoon and said the exact opposite of your "garbage" statement. Also, there is a train ride in the most recent Evermore plans, so there very well may be a ride after all. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  10. If Fire Dragon's line was only to the entrance, that's only a 15 minute wait, or at least should be. Maybe the second train wasn't signed off this morning due to the inclement weather. Sounds like the bugs from last Sunday were worked out on Coaster, so that's good. Too bad Coaster won't be as much of a people eater now. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  11. The trail goes right past the Zoo exhibit that was on the PVRR. There is no other reason for that exhibit to exist. 18 years ago you told me the PVRR never existed and that my very clear memory of it was mistaken so I probably won't take what you say about its layout as fact. The Lagoon Trail was built around the outside perimeter of the Park, not within it. I never told you 18 years ago the PVRR never existed, as the trains were my favorite rides in the park as a kid. lol Old Iron Sides on the other hand is another issue altogether, especially when I'd been told in no uncertain terms that the PVRR and the Bamburger Miniature Railroad were the only train rides in PV by the one who would know the most about it. Also, Braden has an article on the PVRR on the Lagoon History Project that I heavily contributed to, as well as the LIF Wiki. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  12. Only the two bridges from the PVRR were used on the Lagoon Trail. The North entrance of the trail is off of Lagoon Lane. I mean that it partially follows the path of the old PVRR, like past the zoo and such. Utah is also where 'The Void' originated, and there's one here. https://www.thevoid.com/ The Void was originally intended to be part of Evermore theme park, which is apparently opening this year, though it doesn't seem they'll actually have rides (yet?). https://www.facebook.com/evermorepark/ The Lagoon Trail uses none of the PVRR ROW. 14. I pretty much agree with everything said above (minus the beer stuff because, well, look at my age). Even though their lines can develop quickly, Wicked and Cannibal both have single rider lines that work very well (almost every car is always full), and operations at the park are overall very good. I have also found that weekends after Labor Day tend to be manageable crowds, at least until Frightmares starts. My biggest gripe with the park is how quickly lock er space fills up (especially at Wicked and Colossus), so I would advise to wear button/zipper pockets to store your items in so you don't have to worry about that. As for food, the park has an Arby's and a Subway plus a good teriyaki place down by Wild Mouse. Other than that, it's fairly typical theme park food options. As the date gets closer, let me know if you'd like to meet up. I'll be going a lot in August and September! Actually, the locker issue is "Expired" rentals from people not pressing the "End Rental" button once they retrieve their items at Dragon, Wicked, BomBora, and Air Race. Games should probably have people check on the lockers every hour or so. I would also say Bakery Fresh in PV and Mexican Hat in Carousel Plaza offer nothing like most park food and Swig is definitely Unique. My tip is always bring your own food or go to the Camp Ground Subway, which has a Full Menu and Prices like most other Subway franchises. There are also lots of restaurants around the park in Centerville and Farmington Station that are popular after closing eating spots. Bakery Fresh is definitely worth checking out and you get your money's worth and the the Olde Mill in PV is also highly recommended. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  15. Costco has the best price on All Day Passports, unless you are Military. I would put Bohemian, Red Rock, and Hopper's at the top of my Microbreweries list and Red Rock, Hopper's, and Bohemian have the best food IMO. Wasatch, Uintah, and Squatters are not my favs, but Wasatch's Food is alright. Let's see, Kennecott Copper Mine, the world's largest open pit mine, Park City in general, Utah Olympic Park, the Alpine Loop around that time of year, oh, and the Nuclear Waste Dump in the West Desert. 16. Awww, I'm so flattered you are continuingly obsessed with me, but I already have a husband. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  17. These custom trains are the same gauge as all other GCI trains, as we're the PTC trains the same gauge as all others. I don't know where you got the information about a change in gauge, but it is absolutely incorrect. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk I thought I remember reading it somewhere, but of course I'm probably wrong. But I do know that the park does not refer to them as Millennium Flyers. There is something about them that is custom, besides the headrests obviously. It must be something in the chassis/wheel assembly that we are unable to see, because the seats and restraints themselves feel just like other GCIs. I'm guessing the higher seat backs and on board lap bar position monitoring system may have something to do with the lower height requirement of 46", which may be why they are custom. I'm also thinking other GCI trains with theming may also be "GCI Custom Trains" and not Millennium Flyers. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

  19. Did you notice the on board lap bar position monitoring system working on Roller Coaster today? Also, in your opinion, do the lap bars on Roller Coaster seem less forgiving to larger riders than other gci trains you've ridden? Samurai is now operating better than it has since before the gearbox failure in 2007, and I was pleasantly surprised being on the second public cycle. It was having issues finding zero during test rides, but seemed ok on our cycle, however, it didn't want to lower. Did you notice anything at the end of the day? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  20. I had room between myself and the new GCI lap bar, really about the same as I used to have in the PTCs. However, I only rode it once and nearer the middle of the train. Today I'll get more laps and have more data to go off of. Those PTCs weren't falling apart at all. In fact, I'm 90% positive they got new chassis in the mid to late 90s. Lagoon added new lap bars and mechanisms to them exactly 10 years ago, as well as replaced the seats with more padded ones. We just won't talk about the on board lap bar monitoring system of 2009 that worked for a very short time. lol I was never skeptical about these trains because Lagoon and it's ownership has always been about the rider experience and their actual experience on these types of trains is what sold them on them. They have proven time and time again that only when forced, do they neuter a ride (Samurai & Cliffhanger). Still would have been interesting to see what an ART Engineering Woodie Train would be like. 21. I now know who you are thrillseeker4552! [emoji14] I was in row 9 or 10, and I experienced no airtime where it used to be on the double ups and double downs, where there used to be ejector...not even floater. I would also say the ride feels totally different. I didn't time it, but will tomorrow, as it used to be 2 minutes from Dispatch to Reduction, but felt slower. For those of us who have known this coaster from riding it for 31 years and operating it for 4 years, she definitely isn't the same. Love the new queue, exit, artwork, and station....but the MCC just seems out of place to me. The Custom GCII Trains (Management is adamant the GCI Manual doesn't refer to them as Millennium Flyers) tracked great and were comfy, lap bars and seats, but not as comfy as the Timberliners I've been on. I am hoping once the new trains are properly broken in, she will fly and deliver the airtime back to us. Glad to hear the back row didn't disappoint! These are all my opinions, of course. 22. I'll be there tomorrow (Saturday). Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  23. That's been Lagoon's Logo since 1/1/90, however, I prefer the alternate colors that were sometimes used, where Red was used instead of pink, but I've always liked the symbols in the letters.....except when the LAB "O" is installed upside down in terraces. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  24. It usually takes Roller Coaster 3-4 Weeks from first runs to open. They haven't sent a train through the system yet, so it would be a darn near miracle for it to open by the 14th. I hear there's a chance, though certainly not a guarantee that this particular darn miracle might just come true. Oh, and also, here's something: I myself hope for a miracle, but the park stated weeks, not months. That gives them another up to 8 weeks to be accurate. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
