  1. Anyone know why or how long Battle for Metropolis is closed? Thanka
  2. From the webcam view right now Orion's second drop looks steeper than the first! I get it may be the angle but still.
  3. Iron Rattler night ride. Poltergeist and Golden Lasso were great rides too.
  4. Had a good time here yesterday. We were worried we weren't gonna get the gold upgrade because the deadline was Nov 2 to pick up the pass and almost every weekend in Oct was rainy or cold and windy. Luckily they extended the pick up date!!!!!! Not sure if this was Fiesta only or chain wide. Gold w/free parking is one main reason I get the season pass, so super lucked out there. Started out on Poltergeist. One train but everyone was still at church or something. Forgot how fun and smooth this was. Great launch. Next was Golden Lasso. All three trains were running so the wait wan't very bad. Ejector monster still. After that enjoyed a Voodoo Ranger Pumpkin Ale. Went to try out Joker pendulum ride. Ops were running 10 min cycles and I would have bailed if my friend didn't want to ride it so bad. Waited maybe an 1 hr 15 min. Ride was fun and seemed to produce more g forces at the bottom than the one in New England or Dallas. After that we got one final night ride on IR since they closed at 6. and yes IR is still just running one train. Usually I try to get tons of rides in but was content to just fart around after getting the passes. After getting on 4 rides all day, I think I'll go back to getting a fast pass next time. Once you go fast pass, hr waits are hellish. Worth saving your money for sure, even though it wasn't packed.
  5. I didn't bring it up. Just answering a guy.
  6. Orion has the launch of death right now. Looks like the ski jump at the winter Olympics. Just put me a net out there in the field.......
  7. Yes, TTS is def run by the false rumor guy. Don't listen to a conman, bigboy.
  8. I'm curious if the two DB superfans will jump ship or just be happier there will be another draw to lessen lines. Let the battle begin! 90 rides in one day. They can Do IT!
  9. Yeah that crane making another crane is pretty cool.
  10. Well thanks. That's more civil and discussionary at least. Cheers.
  11. Insult me because I see a connection? IT"S the SAME TRAIN breaking in the SAME SPOT. I can handle your jabs but not you misunderstanding of metal fatigue. To say it's not possible they are related is gullable if you know the definition of that word. P.S. To you and Coaster Bill, Having a discussion about this shouldn't make anyone heated, but here we are. Settle down folks. We can all have opinions. It's funny you both are getting bent actually.
  12. I think it's equally safe to say no park in America has done anything except "Tell me when the investigation comes out, Shirley". Business as usual..... If they even care. What's the point of "Have a look at the last car Mechanic Bob" if a visual inspection turns up nothing. Xray or sonic testing would be cost something more than Mechanic Bob and I'd imagine and it's equally plausible they wouldn't just go that far without prodding from the gp or anyone else. One could call SFOT and ask if they xrayed the last car on Shock Wave where the wheels attach, but, 1. would they even answer the phone? and 2. If they did would they even be truthful about it? and 3. Would they even take that step without 7 on your Side or someone investigating? Lastly 4. What about all the lesser parks? Who's gonna prod them? Seriously, if the two accidents are the same thing, I don't feel good about getting in that last car honestly. At least on versions with heavy laterals. I think everyone should be apprehensive right now. Like Boeing, once is one thing but twice is something else, and right now it looks like the same accident again.
  13. Well like most giant companies they would rather ignore it or cover it up until they can't. Recalls are a bitch, and without oversite like the FAA for airplanes, I'm sure they would keep any accidents/associations on the downlow as to not hurt ticket sales. Next question....is there an world or u.s. amusement ride safety oversight group or just individual state inspections?
  14. How many of these style trains are still out there running is the question now. Should they ground the entire fleet to inspect or modify? Does this mean all Schwartzkopfs are at risk of this problem :/? This shows the coasters still operating https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anton_Schwarzkopf Which is still a good number and would mean a lot of costly repairs/reinforcements. I know nobody here wants any shut down but are we at risk? I realize how popular these are with y'all.
  15. If you zoom in at those pics in that link at pic #41, you can see underneath where the wheel assembly bolts up. (Near the Pepsi Cup) Pretty thin and also boxed. Box shapes can hold water and rust internally as we learned with the Ohio State Fair accident. Seem like the same failure as in this video..
  16. Dont get bummed you would just have to coordinate it with the TTS and travel accordingly. It's free to join their FB group.
  17. As a fabricator/welder for 20 plus years, metal can fatigue and fail drastically and instantly. It may have no visible cracks even showing so there is no real way to tell. Maintenance may be just fine with all axles, joints, and wheels perfect and lubed, bolts and pins shiny and new, but if the carriage mounting holes rip and send the bogey flying that is more initial design than lack of maintenance. It wouldn't be feasible to xray every weld on the entire coaster and trains morning. Besides that, the failure may not even be at a weld so you would also have to xray all the metal besides the welds if that's what you guys mean by maintenance.
  18. White Wing Lodge is making improvements and was great. The new owners were very nice and the breakfast was great. I had never seen an automatic pancake making machine before lol. I wanted the closest place as driving in the mountains stresses me out. I couldn't believe when I exited SDC that the exit was right at White Wing. Ah the ol pancake conveyer belt. Best ride pre park.
  19. I love a good steel erection.
  20. Cheers to your park and state New Jersey. First time visit the Sunday before last and I had a great time. I love the scenic views from the lift hill especially Nitro. I took some heat for thinking your park is cleaner and prettier than either Six Flags in Texas but I stand by my observations. Didn't see any trash, operations were super ( especially Bizarro at night, 30 sec dispatches it seemed ), and everyone was very friendly. Lines were nothing either. Cheers to a great park and prob my best day riding other than Cedar Point. Keep up the good work! Had 3 rides each on all the major coasters and Bizarro at night was just awesome. Jersey Devil is gonna be a treat. Hopefully you get the moving station for faster ops.
  21. The grass must be greener then or something. Georgia and Jersey and Agawam were all really nice and scenic to me and not run down looking at all. Two of those have really scenic river and forest views from the taller rides.
  22. Also planning a trip....the million dollar question,,,,,,,How much longer until West Coast Racers is ready? Any inside scoop?
  23. Everything at SFGAD.....But Superman was last.
  24. I never here about Bizzaro but got on that last weekend and love it and the special effects after dark. Instantly my #1 floorless over Superman at Fiesta.
