  1. From Facebook, someone took a photo of Mr Freeze that valley last night: CREDIT: Nicole Wilson
  2. From what I can tell by the concrete forms, they are making a path for days when the park is not busy and then they can rope it off when they want to use the full queue. Now, can they get rid of the old haunt by the exit, it looks so tacky.
  3. Agree, from what I could see I personally think they are here to stay, they could change the colors to match what is going on in the park like for Halloween and Christmas. Now they just need to light up the rest of the park, because there are some really awkward dark areas like going past Ninja to River King, almost complete blackness except for Spinsanity with its lights. Also Screamin Eagle needs to have some lift lights, Boss looks awesome with them, why the park does not install them on Eagle I don't understand. I really do hope Six Flags does fix this, all the ride ops from Screamin Eagle to American Thunder expressed in some way how they can't see anyone, heck GP's cant see anything . American Thunder when I walked on, the station was completely empty, and because they were doing procedure training with a new ride op, they didn't even realized I was there till I poked my head out
  4. Trip Report on 4/16: Arrived at the park a little after 9pm after a last minute decision to head to the park after work. It was just starting to rain, with temps around 55 degrees. Parking gate was down to only one stall, and they were waving people though and not checking people's reservation's. Every ride I went onto was a walk on, I first hit up Batman as I knew I only had time to do one full rotation through the park. The queue was literally cut in half, which made it a breeze to walk on. Then I hit Ninja with its nice light package, though the ride was a little rougher tonight, more than usual. I love that the park is giving more love to Ninja, but please get new trains! Afterwards I walked by River King Mine Train, which unfortunately just went down, so I didn't get my night ride this time. So I went up to Screamin Eagle, which now has the new dividers, got to ride it twice. I really enjoyed riding Screamin Eagle at night, flying though the trees. After I walked down to The Boss, which I was surprised to see running in this weather. The operations were slow, and the team was not working well together. So I got my one ride and was done, but I did also enjoy the Boss hauling through the trees. By the time I hit Supergirl, it was getting close to the park closing. So I made my last stride down to American Thunder, and got my last two rides before the park closed ending out a awesome, wet, night. The only rides that I saw that were not running were again River King, Pandemonium, and Mr Freeze. River and Pandemonium were having maintenance working on them, and I didn't get a chance to see what was wrong with Freeze. @castaway_kid might know what happened as I didn't get a chance to go into the DC area. Edit: I checked Facebook, Mr. Freeze had valley again, I heard it did so also last weekend. Apparently also Justice League was down, but I ain't sure for how long. Park wise, everything was pretty much running smoothly, with a few hiccups. All the rides were now filling every row, with dividers now in every queue on every coaster I was on. One thing I will saw I dislike was that there was some dark areas in the park, which you would think they would have the lights on if the pathway was open. And the Boss queue line was very dark, I saw some people trip because the lights weren't working. One thing I really liked towards family's, was that the staff were operating the mini kids train and the kids tugboat even though they weren't on the list. Batman's new split queue, quite nice on the legs : River King Mine Train: Screaming Eagle got some lights also: Screamin Eagles new dividers, which the ride operators hate, they were having trouble seeing people: Boss also got the same dividers: And to end it out, here is American Thunders light package:
  5. Edit: Saturday and Sunday has been fully booked, Friday the 16th still has plenty of reservations. Oh and looks like people are cancelling thier reservations for tomorrow because the 530pm option is open again
  6. I will be going on the 23rd, might make it this Friday. OFFICIAL: It is free!
  7. Mail a letter to the park president, that might work. Six Flags St. Louis Phil Liggett, Park President P.O. Box 60 Eureka, MO 63025
  8. The day the Screamin' Eagle made its Six Flags debut Now Forty Five years old!
  9. Ahhh. Thanks!! I was wondering what he meant And that makes sense, I have to check it out next time I visit, especially with the trees blooming now.
  10. "On 4/9/2021 at 10:24 AM, bossstl said: Does something like six flags Power Hours intrest you guys and gals? https://www.sixflags.com/stlouis/events/six-flags-power-hours" Looks like the 23rd and me are having a date with some roller coasters Also reservations for the 16th and 23rd start at 5:30pm for those who wants to know. ------------ Also I found posted on facebook that they look like there clearing trees behind Log Flume, I didn't realize that last Friday but I wasn't really looking. What do you all think?: CREDIT: James Hartkopf ---------------- Another change happening in the park is that Colossus the Giant Ferris Wheel is getting repainted: CREDIT: Nathan Rosner
  11. To be truthfully honest, I would rather just see them rip up the track, seed the lawn and put out a few park benches/mobile food stands in that area for the time being. So that the majority of the time and money is spent on redoing the Screaming Eagle/Catwoman Plaza, fixing the now torn up former go carts, and prepping for a hopeful BIG new roller coaster in Tidal Wave's old spot But Danrarbc, if I would see a flat ride squeeze into that location, I would think it would have be quite small (like Shazam small) to fit in front of American Thunder. I wouldn't think they would install anything behind, and I don't see the park getting any of those flat rides any time soon if ever. Now out of the box thinking, if they were to build a custom junior coaster that interacted with Thunder, that would be amazing to see. In terms of what coasters Six Flags have installed a lot of, we still have not got a 4D Spin Coaster, if it were to be installed vertically along side the train bridge and extended back to that shed I think that would fit and the queue could stay roughly in the same spot Or... really thinking, give American Thunder more track space, RMC it I thought about that too, but I don't think they would waste that small of space just to add a few more picnic shelters. And I think that would be a weird early entry point having to go through the pavilion and under the tracks, instead of going through the water park entrance (I never seen the Spain early entry?)
  12. My guess looking at it from Google Maps, to fit the ride in between Screaming Eagle and Boomerang they will need to clear out the area behind Superman such as that white shed (I'm guessing Superman's maintenance shed?) and the queue will take the place of the former ride and its old queue. I hope we start to see work soon, or at least updated promo material. I don't care much for the ride type, but I am excited to see the area change. Sadly your not wrong, communication anywhere you go these days is very sparse. I personally wouldn't have waited so long if it wasn't for the entertainment it provided. I usually would leave the park to eat but with Covid rules, I am still unsure about reentry into the park since they have to scan the reservations and I don't want to be screwed just cause I left the park to get food. The only thing for sure is that they mentioned they are currently in talks for something to replace it My guess no, with the sudden change to move Catwoman I think all plans for this section is on hold. I would, just like Screaming Eagle, love them to re-profile the Boss queue into the old go carts instead of the bridges and stairs Its not very ADA friendly either, so that could be something that they are considering. I rather see empty grass spots then rotting rides, buildings, etc. Anybody remember rotting Hannibarells? On another note though I would love to see them build some quite zones into the park, I just seen on their new map that they are now Certified Autism Centers and that would be cool to see that implemented in the park for people who needs a break from sensory overload. CREDIT: Saint Louis Zoo Saying Saint Louis Zoo is getting a Dinosaur attraction this year, I doubt it. But I do hope they will give more information on whats to come to Six Flags StL next year besides Catwoman's whip.
  13. Heads up for people wanting to visit SFStL next weekend, the Saint Louis RV Show will be taking place in the parking lot starting April 9th through the 11th: Midwest RV Show Over 300 RVs to contended with
  14. Quick search online to find more food locker designs, and this is what Wingstop is doing for their mobile orders which this setup I could really seeing working at a amusement park:
  15. That honestly would be an awesome thing for Six Flags to add, though in the world of Covid, I wonder how well they would keep that clean. I also think its a lack of communication between the staff manning the counter, and the kitchen. All the kitchen sees is order after order popping up on there screens, there was no real communication between the two either verbally or digitally. For example, when we were shouting order numbers down the line, the supervisor started with the oldest first which was a 2 HOUR order that was still sitting in the heat window and of course that person was long gone. One order of 4 boxes of chicken tenders was thrown straight into the trash can because that person left.
  16. Thankfully that never really happen during my hour wait for food yesterday, most people who were standing in the drink line were people that were overflowing from the mobile order line or disgruntled because there food was bad. One guy waited about 30mins to get a replacement cheeseburger because it had hair cooked into the patty. Now what I was talking about was during a few of the mobile pickups, we thought they had the line moving again, but then someone was like I want 5 refills of my large member cups after they grabbed their food They seem they really have a hard time with their computer system, and tracking orders. It seems the amount of orders that were coming in, was like they couldn't keep up with orders that were already prepared and keep the line moving. I really hope Six Flags can find a way of enticing more people to work for them, $12 local is not bad if that is starting pay at least for teenagers. I would think that's better than most starting pay at other local fast food chains.
  17. Thanks, I was wondering when there estimated date of completion would be, I'm happy to see the carousel get some love. I know it would be a lot to ask SFStl, but I would love to see the completed carousel moved into a more central location in the park. A offshoot idea would be if they redo the rest of the front plaza they could incorporate it there as a showoff piece, but now I'm making it sound like SFGAM Any word on the estimate of the train being completed, there sign says spring 2021, but they look like they still have a lot of work to do before they can reopen. I agree that we should see some life in these areas after Covid, but it also shows areas where they know they can close/shutter things without really affecting operations. It would be nice, like I said earlier, to re-profile those areas like for example the old worn arcade by Eagle, and open them up. Give a modern/clean look to those areas, instead of worn and tired. They really needed to separate the operations, make mobile orders exclusive, and maybe add a couple of Kiosk outside of the building, kinda like McDonald's, to do on site orders for people without phones. Drink refills also needed there own operator instead of relying on the two attendants taking and filling orders, because the moment 5 large member cups came through that line was at a standstill again. I was close to just walking off a few times and be out 20$, but it was worth it for the entertainment and madness of the situation.
  18. I understand that most are used in some capacity, like I know the hut by River King was used for the Santa Claus meet and greet and the Mercantile used to be the old candy store (which I miss seeing) , but it is starting to look run down with so many "dead" areas. Which in fairness, Covid and lack of workers doesn't help either. But I do hope SFStL has plans in the future for the areas. I would love to see them rework, open up, and maybe add a flat to complement next to Catwoman. It would also nice to see the old queue are of Screaming Eagle removed, and some land reworked, to install a junior coaster because this park is really lacking one. And that area would be perfect since it is in the kids area, you can call it Little Eagle, and be our parks 4th wood coaster And it is nice to see active solutions being put in place for them to expand there rides capacity. Like yesterday the Boss line was packed all the way back to the long bridge over the remains of the go cart, and we were barely moving even with two train ops. 40mins later and we got to the station to find out they are doing 30sec dispatches which was fun to see, but barely moving people because they can't fill every row.
  19. Continued Trip Report, 4/02/2021 Xcalibur got stuck around 3pm, it was unloaded shortly after: Interesting View: Long lines for Turkey Stand near Xcalbur: Pandemonium: Did you know that the Queue used to be a dolphin show back in the 70's? Supergirl: Work has not resumed since opening weekend on the Carousel from what I can tell: The Boss closed most of the day until the last few hours: Former Go-Carts. Future use unknown: Spring is in the air: Wouldn't this be a great area for a new flat, or better yet a smaller Kids Coaster in tune of SFGA Little Dipper? That old queue needs to go, it looks horrible next to such a good coaster: Think Six Flags will ever turn this beast back on? Unlike Ninja, Screaming Eagle does not get dividing Covid "shields", or for that matter any control of how close people are: Beautiful shot of Screaming Eagle, Boomerang, and Ninja joining in for the shot : Look at all the potential for opening up the area: New deck by Fireball is open: Six Flags hasn't updated their signage in a while (2019): I still wish I got to see River King Mine train running its clone next door: One thing I hate about Six Flags in so many unused building dotting the park: Fowl Ball is still closed instead redirecting you to Moose Burger: Found some leftover Christmas theming: Train is suppose to reopen by spring 2021, but I don't think that is going to happen any time soon: New bridge for Train, but track is still not installed: Thunder River getting ready:
  20. Trip Report from Friday April the 2nd We got to the park around 11am, the parking gate was slowly crawling cars through with the parking lot already quite busy for a 49 degree morning. All coasters, expect for River King Mine Train and of course Boss, were running. Screaming Eagle was hauling today, more so than on opening weekend, which was quite pleasant flying through the newly budding/flowering spring trees. Boss didn't open until around the last 2hrs of park operations, which was our last ride before the park closed at 6pm. Boss also gave a great ride, even though it was running "cold", though I agree the mid course brake is horrible. The moment we hit the MCBR, the train gave a horrible screech as it was slowed to a crawl. River King Mine Train had a bucket lift stretched to the first hill, with maintenance crawling all over it, the ride was not operational today. Though I did notice new wood on the base of the supports of River King, so that was a plus to see. Thunder River and Log Flume were still not operational though I heard they are suppose to open this weekend, which is supported by the fact that the Flume has it logs in the trough and I saw staff moving the Thunder's rafts from the holding pool into the lift area. All coasters that were running, from what I could tell, were running multiple trains which helped moved a lot of the crowds in the very long lines. Mr Freeze no longer had a reduced cap. sign. but I couldn't tell if it was operating multiple trains so someone who had a chance to ride would have to chime in about that. In terms of Covid, they are still not managing it well. I didn't see no cleaning going on around the park until closing when I saw a operator spraying down Shazam. Bathrooms were for the most part, at least in the Men's, dirty. Stalls and urinals were pretty well used, some stalls no toilet paper, and we encountered quite a few empty soap dispensers. Ride wise, the operators were not enforcing distancing. But at least on the Boss, they did make sure people kept there masks up, which was the only instance where I saw staff enforcing masks rules. Otherwise lines were long and close, but I really don't know how else they can fix that, besides enforcing a electronic queue. But this is Six Flags, and I don't ever imagine that happening, or like in the case of their mobile food ordering being used efficiently. So besides a hiccup at the food stand, I can say I had a good day, I love my local park even with its flaws. My kid is just getting into the age where he can start riding the big coasters, and while I wish we had a SFGA Little Dipper as part of our collection, he really warmed up to Screaming Eagle and got his first ride on The Boss which might be his next favorite in the park. Ninja is still quite scary for him though, and American Thunder is too rough for him New wood fencing as pointed out by Danrarbc, which I noticed they replaced quite a bit over by the Kids Area: I wonder if they will open a new restaurant in the old Go Fresh location, the park is really lacking in food options: This area looks quite dead, please SFSTL, revamp this area and open this section of the park up: Forgot there used to be a food stand here, looks like it hasn't been used in many years: Superman's old queue, almost striped of its old theming: Except for this: Two closed restaurants, one shot: Need to blend the Employee Restaurant facade with the area, instead of screaming closed restaurant: Boom Lift on River King Mine Train: New wood spotted at the base: Spot the nesting goose : Ninja: Something I noticed in Ninja, that was not common park wide, was the Covid "shields" in queue: Moon Cars are no longer hiding behind American Thunder: Took over an hour to get our food, which we ordered mobile from Colonnades after 1pm: Mobile Orders are the middle line, which they have a this tiny sign under the awning giving the only direction: Only two employees are manning the counter, which consists of three separate lines, one for drinks, one for mobile orders, and the last for ordering: We got in line at 140pm, didn't our food until 240pm , by then this is what the heat window looked like: Six Flags about had a mob going of frustrated customers, most of us were waiting since 1pm to get our food. That heat window had orders backed up into the kitchen. This was the only negative on our trip. 992957555_20210402_1433352.mp4
  21. I went to the park Sunday, we got there a little after 12pm, and it was very crowded for opening weekend. Their was little to no social distancing in lines, every food place had a line extending into the walkways with some like the Turkey Leg stand near Pandemonium and by Colonnades was almost near impossible to pass with the amount of people over there. Mr Freeze was running in reduced capacity with lines extending well outside of the building, River King Mine Train and Sky Screamer was well outside of the entrance. I did not pay attention to all the coasters, but I know for sure American Thunder and Screaming Eagle was running two train ops with no cleaning of the train or stations observed. The Grand Carousel is starting to look great, and I saw some work being done by Catwomans former(?) spot. The now former Moon Cars has all signage removed with the cars still sitting on the rails behind Thunder, nothing done around Superman which makes me wonder when they are going to start demo of the area since Catwomans whip is to open next year in that spot. Also someone pointed out while standing in Screaming Eagles line, that there looked to be like one of Ninjas trains sitting behind Boomerang. Another observance that the Go Fresh Cafe by the Looney Tunes section has all of its signage removed, not sure when that happened; and also there is now a snazzy new deck by Fireball looks really nice. One last thought, with Catwomans Whip now moving by Eagle, I kinda wish that the Arcade there would be removed and open that section up and give Screaming Eagle a new (better) queue with the possibility of another flat squeezing next to Catwoman down the line. That area looks so worn and dated, no matter how much paint they apply, again I just wish that area would be cleared of that ugly building and opened up. Also with the old Pizzeria now a Employees Diner, I hope that they will redo the facade and blend it more with the surroundings, instead of shouting former restaurant.
  22. I believe the land is flat enough to put any ride there without to much work, the only real hill is under the lift and drop which should be leveled anyway to remove Tidal Waves supports, I honestly don't think land clearing would be a problem. I cant wait to see what Six Flags decides to put in Tidal Waves spot, especially since they are also clearing out the land of the former go cart tracks for Cat Woman's Whip; which I would have thought that they would continue there efforts there. Anybody up for another flat for 2021/2022? I think everyone said that about the 2018's HITP, especially around American Thunder/Shazam. I have only went two times to HITP, back in 2016 and 2018, and your 100% right the magic of the lights didn't feel up to par even though I believe they were still the same light setup. Everybody have a great New Year!
