  1. Interesting, so Rookie Racer does have the potential to also be installed in that spot. I guess we will see when the park opens nad people report on any work happening in that area, thanks for the clarification. Sad to see Xcalibur is done, I was hoping that this was not the last we heard of the ride. Maybe another park will buy it, but I doubt it.
  2. Exactly, so many people would be understanding with choice rather than limited options. If they announced that they were going to roll out passes alongside memberships given that they will have a price hike, that would have given members and other guests the choice to chose. Look at every subscription service, i.e. Netflix, they are still sustainable even with the price hikes. Six Flags needs to make more of the parks in the chain stand out with better service before they start trying to charge 200/300 per head for a budget chain at a price that includes everything. Thankfully they have been dropping pass prices, but have took much away.
  3. I wish I still had my membership, like many who canceled theirs around the 2020's, no one would have predicted that memberships would no longer be and what terrible thing would replace it. I hate the new passes, and knowing I'm one of many who bought it because of little choice especially in the area. My biggest gripe is that you have to shell out big bucks if you want access to all parks, especially when you have a family. I don't think Six Flags is realizing how many people they turned away from other SF parks other then thier home park. I would rather have that access over the unlimited water park access. Maybe one day they will bring it back, or see something similar then the cash grab passes they have now. At least give more than what little benefits is offered, like make the water park a choice rather than a feature.
  4. Figures based off what has been rumored, if your sources are official. Now speculation for whats next for this park with all these empty spaces. Hopefully next year we get the thrill coaster that everyone wants built, not another flat or worse nothing. The park has been cleaning itself up for years, maybe just maybe corporate will spend its billions here now. With reports saying this summer, I would figure go-carts if they are removing Dragon Wing after the 2023 season. Unless they remove it before they open in April.
  5. Under the current new management, no, I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening and why would they? Sure it doesn't complete under 65 degrees, but it still draws a crowd. That ticker before the queue tells them as much. After they reprofiled the helix at the end, that was a sign that it's going to be around for another decade. If it was dead as Ninja is for most the season and if they had the want to make the park stand out maybe. Again won't hold my breath. Now those new trains that they were supposed to get for Boss, if they still could figure out how to make them complete the circuit that would be interesting. Also Vekoma coming in to smooth out Ninja would be a win, maybe some new trains as well and again a retheme to the area.
  6. Ah okay I see how you fit it in now, yeah that would look great. Def. give some eye candy to the park.
  7. Wow that looks good, did you make the park level yourself? Man if they built that Batman would just be dwarfed by the Hyper. (And water park is pretty much gone)
  8. I keep hearing summer, so they must have something started by now. But this is Six Flags so who knows And never thought about Dragon Wing not pulling in money but that makes sense why they are pulling them.
  9. On the topic of Xcalibur, KMOV 4 Saint Louis posted a drone flyby of SFStL a few weeks ago and the thing that caught my eye is Xcalibur arm is locked in the air. I did not know it could be kept in that state, other than it's old programing while in motion. KMOV 4 SFStL
  10. I get it, but this is SF and it's one of thier few parks that sees very little capital spent on new rides. I bet Rookie Racer was barely a scratch to their wallet compared to billions spent elsewhere. Ninja is cheap to own and maintain and honestly I think even the other rides outside of the headaches produced by mantaince cost very little in the long one. Me rattling on about Freeze probably won't happen in the next decade because of that. Tidal Wave, Antique Cars, and Xcalibur are the next spots to fill. Unless Xcalibur magically gets fixed.
  11. That is true, but it's also a very simple ride to maintain unlike Freeze. They just spent a butt load repairing the lift and mechanics. Honestly if they have Ninja new trains, it probably would be more well loved. As it stands, Ninja makes for one of the more enjoyable rides as SFStL because of the short lines and the headbanging/vest restraints doesn't really bother me. Batman I have come to have issues with over the past years because of vest restraints digging into my shoulders. Also from a perspective, it would also be sad to see Ninja ever get replaced because of it's interesting history of it being conceived and then being tossed around from different manufacturers after one went defunct. The only thing I would ever want to see changed around Ninja is a retheme to the area and more rides around it.
  12. I would only advocate as long as Six Flags is willing to put in a comparable coaster or better. Something that would be better money spent on, rather trying to keep this girl running. And as with all coaster's, there will always be a ticking clock to them, some taken before others. No matter how loved the ride is. I think Freeze has served it's time, others may think Ninja or Boomerang but the park has also thrown big bucks to keep those ticking. I don't see the same with Freeze and as I've heard with the last big breakdown, parts are getting harder to come by. Also no hate for Freeze, she was my first launch, and I would hate to see her go. But all we could do is wait and see what comes next. I hope something big, and I hope they don't have to tear out any more rides to do so. Screaming Eagle, Xcalibur, and the Enterprise was my favorites. Screaming Eagle is the only ride left now out of the bunch.
  13. I know what you are trying to say, and I get it. It's like losing Xcalibur, and just like it, the park has had it's maintenance nightmares with the ride for decades now. For Freeze they barely have enough power to throw at along with blowing transformers and what not. Those LIMs have not been upgraded as far as we know, along with the holding LIMs that barely work cause their ain't enough power to go around, and I don't think they want to throw the money at it. We have been lucky that SFStL has kept it going but how much longer does it really have? And really how many guests actually value the coaster's uniqueness outside of enthusiasts?
  14. Exactly, it was a fun gimmick for a short period, but I don't understand why they think they need to keep it that way after all these years. On a side thought, thinking about all the coasters at the park. Mr. Freeze is the most problematic of the lot. Being a first gen LIM and all the problem trying to power it over the decades and parts wearing. Wouldn't it be a interesting thought if Six Flags, especially under new management, would consider replacing Freeze with a new LIM style launch coaster in the next 3-5years in the same plot of land. As much as Freeze can be fun, it's a clone, and the park needs something big regional to get people talking again. I think everyone would agree that we would rather see a big new ground breaking coaster added to the parks coaster count, but being this one of the smaller parks I could see it considered.
  15. A real remix would do a Top Thrill Dragster teardown on Freeze and reimagine it to be a regional hit once again. New trains, new LIMs, faster launch, taller spike, a inversion, double helix... Oh wait this is Six Flags (and very unrealistic at really any park) But I get it, this coater has not gotten the love like it's sister down in SFOT. I mean our "animatronic" is still broken.
  16. On another topic, what is the current expectation that we will see Mr. Freeze launch forward again in the next few years after SFOT just turned their trains around.
  17. Absolutely! We are just fan talking, we love our park, and it can be fun theorizing what could be, as long as we can keep it somewhat realistic Honestly if they move some of the other bigger flats into this area, like Joker or Spinsanity, they could fill out this area and make room in others. That sounds rather expensive
  18. Honestly remove the catwalk of the Boss queue and use the rest of the old go cart by the station as overflow and go up from there into the station. That will fill that area up nicely like you have it and give the Dragon Wing area a chance to get another big attraction they could squeeze in. The park "could" have a nice new corner aimed at middle age to family market. Along with that, I am actually glad to see them bring a child friendly Halloween event to the park, gives more local parents safe fun options. Hope it goes well for them. Now they just need to bring back HITP.
  19. That's what I was wondering, I don't think they would thinking back to how they where going to fit Catwoman into the current demolished half of the go carts. Unless they have some deeper pockets now to spend.
  20. Honestly they need to remove/ modify it though, I think everyone hates the queue the way it sits. Kinda like how they made a shortcut through Batman to when the park ain't busy.
  21. Another thought Danrarbc could be if they were to move the Boss queue, would it fit into the brake run/helix area of the Boss? That would leave plenty of room for future additions and maybe a much shorter walk up to the Boss station. And you are right, there is a lot of possibility.
  22. Interesting Danrarbc, but it does looks a lot rougher sitting next to Boss then where Dragon Wing sits in that image. But on that note, what if you angle the ride to the tracks, have the turnaround closer to The Boss lift and the station closer to the tracks, that would solve a lot of the layout weirdness for the go cart area. On the Dragon wing side, if the ride was taller on lift and into the station, then you could "jump" the tracks and have everything take place in the go cart area and have the station in the Dragon Wing area. Otherwise the way it sits on Dragon Wing looks like it could fill that land up nicely with a little bit of modification to the area.
  23. The go-cart/dragon wing entrance is a step back from Boss entrance to the queue
  24. Thanks for the better measurements Danrarbc! It would be a tight fit indeed. Maybe a few supports over the track for the turn back if the ride sits high enough to clear the train. Even more radical would be to move the tracks for the train, but that is a very costly and I wouldn't think that be the case. But on the other hand, rebuilding the whole front entrance and queue to Boss would also be very expensive, but we shall see what they decided on. Edit: Unless they bring the station up to the Boss entrance like even bert425 had pointed out?
  25. I just got to thinking about other news or rumors, and yes they said next to Boss, but not exactly how close to the entrance. And also the entrance to the go carts was still a bit off from Boss, and it could work better with the orientation and the rendering on the video did show with the pond and sitting area.
