  1. The minimum wage is pointless. The government shouldn't be dictating or forcing companies to pay employees a certain rate. Companies know that if they want quality employees they'll have to pay more for it, which is why most people make more than minimum wage. No one is forcing you to work at an amusement park, so if you work there you're doing so at your own free will and choice. Simply stated, if you're working at Cedar Point you're doing it because you love the job, not because you love the pay.
  2. Wow...looks like it was a lot of 'fun'. I'm heading to the mountain next Friday and was wondering how the lines were today on the main attractions. Thanks.
  3. Wow...thanks for your guy's help. I'll call tomorrow to get that guide sent to me. Are there any advertisments over the radio or bring a coke can or anything like that? I think we're going to be driving from the area of Cleveland where Case Western is at. One of the reasons I'm going on the trip is to visit their law school. Hmmm...maybe I can ask them for discount tickets? Aaron
  4. Hey all... I don't post often, but I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me with. My wife and I are going to visit my parents who recently moved to Cleveland on May 18th-20. Well, basically those are the days we can do things, and the other days we're flying. I'm wondering which of those days will be the best for getting the most of out of my visit to Cedar Point. The 18th and 19th are weekdays that the park is open from 8 am until 8 pm. The 20th the park is open until 10 pm, but the lines will undoubtably longer and the park overall more crowded. Lines make me sad, but if the lines on Saturday will be only a little bit longer, then I'd rather take the 2 hours of additional time. Give me some advice on this please. Being from LA, I've looked forward to this day for 10+ years. I was told that it's about a 2 hour drive from Cleveland to Sandusky. This this true? Also, are there any current discounts available for the park or ways of purchasing your tickets beforehand at a discount? Thanks for your help Aaron
  5. Did Rob feel silly wearing his? I dunno...I'm just not much of a hat guy Did you get upgrades on the hotel room, or was that just put in with the whole wedding package you guys had? What did Rob do for you (if I don't mind asking) that was remarkibly romantic? I've gotten a lot of good ideas from the board, and I'll be sure to use them I'm currently getting info from the ladies on the DISboard about my romantic handicap. Thaks for your help. -Aaron PS: How did you and Rob meet anyway?
  6. This is what they mean.... Group of Mexicans = Gang Group of Black People = Gang Group of White Kids = Republicans SFMM is scary because you go through metal detectors.
  7. Thanks! What exactly is the DIS Board? Also, whats the deal with the ears? I don't have any particular macho problems, but walking around with a hat on all day doesn't exactly sound too fun. I'm sure Rachel would really like to do it though (because she's a girl, and girls are lame)...just kidding...kinda. Anyway, how much were they and what "perks" if you will, came with them.
  8. Both arguments make sense, but the answer lies in the "new" layout of the coaster. If it's just rethemed, then no, but if they ripped the old stuff out and re-tracked the inside then why not? -Aaron
  9. Hey, I'm aaron. I'm 22 grew up in Brea, moved to La Canada, and am now in Idaho going to college at BYUI.
  10. Thanks everyone for your help. I think another think you guys should know is that I'm 22, and she's 20. Meaning...we really don't have much money. My wonderful parents are paying for the airfare, hotel, and 6 day park hopper pass...I however front everything else. We're both from Orange County, but are up in Idaho now going to school full time and working for 7 bucks an hour. All in all, we don't have much money. Can you guys suddgest things that are fun/romantic within the resorts, but dont cost much money. I'm going to save and try to do things like room service or maybe a night at the California grill (how much is it a plate , or things like that. It'd be awesome to have the funds and tell her get whatever you want. Buy the ice cream, pen, frozen lemonade, and we'll eat out at ESPN Zone for dinner (okay, maybe that's just for me). I'm just trying to think of places we could go or little things I could do to make the difference for her. Thanks everyone for you help Also, we've hit up everything at the California Resort, what should we be sure to do at Disneyworld? I guess...we'd like to do everything, but some priorites (mission space, test track, stitch, ect). Rachels wonderful, and wants to go to IOA. I just don't know if skipping a day at DW which is paid for, and dropping 100 bucks for the two of us is worth it. But, for fun, what day is the least busy? How much are the day passes for Sea World and IOA? Im sorry I don't know much. Thanks again for all your help with this! I'll be sure to post pics
  11. Howdy All. This is my first post. I think that's enough of that stuff. Here's where I could use some help/advice. I'm getting married in LA on May 21st and am leaving the next day to honeymoon in Orlando...much like you guys. We're staying at the Orleans or something like that on the resort from Sunday night to Friday night and flying home on Saturday morning. I wanted to go on a really fun trip and ride roller coasters for our honeymoon. She wanted something lame and romantic like Hawaii. I asked her if we could do a football themed wedding reception and she said she'd take care of the reception and I'll do the honeymoon. Mission accomplished. I decided on Orlando because I had a lot of fun back when I went in 2002 and knew she likes Disney as well. We have the 6 day park hopper pass, but I was REALLY hoping to go back to IOA at least one day. I was wondering if I could get some advice with this whole trip. What should we do there (besides have sex and go to the parks). Anything extra romantic that she'd really enjoy? How do we get cheep tickets to IOA? What should we use our extra tickets for (disneyquest, water parks, ect)? How would you have changed your honeymoon? Yeah, so I guess I'm just looking for a ton of info, help, or whatever from you guys or anyone about enjoying our honeymoon. I know you both know a ton about the city and parks, and any help would be awesome. -Aaron
