  1. I’m just hoping it won’t be that crowded the last Sunday and Monday of August. It will be my first time going to CP since 2014. If its anything like this pasr Monday, crowds weren't that bad. I got there at 9am and managed 2 rides on Gatekeeper, a ride on MaxAir and Wicked Twister all by a little after 10.
  2. Wow what a change from this past week. Was there wednesday and most rides were 30 mins or less. Only long lines were for SV and Maverick.
  3. I have been 7 times this year and the only massive crowds were the July long weekend. I was just there this past week for 3 days. Other then Steel Vengeance and Maverick most coasters had 30 minute wait. Fastlane queues were a handful of people. I have no idea where you heard about massive crowds As far as the fluffy fluffy bunnies go, I am sure by next season they will have a better system in place. Bins are not the answer, people still bring their phones on the ride with them. Cancelling your pass over that is not worth it. Its your decision, less people in line that I have to wait behind.
  4. If it doesn't go upside down it would be fine. I was talking more along the lines of Steel Vengeance.
  5. Thats not what I meant. JUST SAYIN' What this park needs aside from rides. It needs a good table service restaurant and find out how to take the atmosphere from Kings Island. Bring it to Wonderland.
  6. I agree, but they built the tallest giga (Fury 325) at Carowinds to topple CP's Millennium Force... So maybe the record thing isn't a big issue anymore. You never know now a days as Cedar Fair always surprises me. I mean, I couldn't believe it when they announced I305 at KD! I do agree with you but I would be surprised they did break Valravns record. Mainly cause I feel as much as Cedar Fair does invest in Wonderland it still doesn't feel like one of their parks. The atmosphere is not even the same as Kings Island or Cedar Point. No mention of Platinum passes anywhere and the ride ops are not as enthusiastic as either one of those parks. Off topic I read some where that the reason an RMC won't happen at Wonderland is cause the TSSA would want Shoulder Restraints.
  7. Its already a record breaker for being the first dive coaster in Canada. I don't think it will be taller then Valravn as they like to keep the records at Cedar Point. With a smaller height it will still have a record for biggest drop when you add in the tunnel. Most of the GP that go to Wonderland don't know other parks exist. To most it will be a good coaster regardless.
  8. Thought this thread might be a better place to post this. First I will say I am very excited for the new coaster at Wonderland and that every year there is new attractions to the park. For some reason they never mention the Platinum pass and now they only show POV of Wonderland coasters on the TVs in the queues. Its almost like they are not a part of Cedar Fair
  9. I an fine with the bins considering my home park which is Wonderland uses them for everything. My only question is so many people feel the need to bring their whole house with them. I just bring a waist pack with my keys, pass and money. Reall what else do you need with you.
  10. Its the same for me regarding the border. This past weekend going over to the US they only asked where I was going. Crossing back into Canada I got the the third degree on why I went alone to Cedar Point, where I worked and if I had any electronics with me. I will say the political stuff could explain the decline in attendance but Cedar Fair could help themselves out by promoting the Platinum pass at Wonderland and the other parks in the chain. A lot of the people I talk to have no idea such a pass exists.
  11. Its a shame cause its a great park to visit. Its also a hassle to cross the border. I still am planning on going down to the park the beginning of august but after the way I was interrogated at the border going over it makes me have some second thoughts. I went alone to the park last weekend and to the border people its seems to them its odd to go on a trip alone.
  12. I wonder if part of the reason for lower attendance this year is cause of the how low the Canadian dollar is. Add in the trade war thats going on a lot of Canadians don't want to travel to the U.S. right now. Aside from that Cedar Fair doesn't advertise the Park up here in Ontario. When I am at Wonderland most of the people have no idea there is a platinum pass and that Cedar Point is included. The really have dropped the ball in getting more Canadians to to down there for a weekend trip.
  13. One thing I did notice yesterday at the park was that you can't park at Famous Daves anymore. Only marina pass holders can park there now. I wanted to go to the Marina Store on my way out to grab some Shandy Shores beer. I was told by a park employee it was one of the only places to buy it. I did end up finding it at a grocery store in Vermilion on my way home.
  14. Was at the park the last 2 days. The Fire and Ice taste tour is well worth checking out. Its a lot like Brew and BBQ minus the beer. I will post some pictures later. On to Steel Vengeance. Any one else's thighs hurt after riding it? It is still running 2 trains but the way they are running them I can't see it running 3 trains. They never let a train leave the station til the other is on the brake run.
  15. Thinking of going to the park tomorrow for the day. Want to know what the crowds are going to be like. I haven't been to Darien Lake in over 10 years. Where is the best places to eat in the park?
  16. I have wanted to check out Knoebels for awhile. I may skip Dorney and just spend the day at Knoebels instead.
  17. I was thinking about stopping there. The reason I was doing Dorney and Kings Dominion is I have a Cedar Fair platinum pass.
  18. I have a weeks vacation the first August and am planning a road trip to a few parks. I want to do Kennywood, Hersheypark, Dorney, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens. I plan on doing them in that order cause I am leaving the Niagara Falls area. I would be leaving on the saturday. Just wondering how long I should plan for each park and what the crowds will be like?
  19. I've never eaten at the Midway Market. What I am surprised with is that I would have thought Melt would be more popular but of all the times I have been the last 2 years I have never seen a wait
  20. Just got back from Cedar Point. Was there from Sunday til today. Stayed at Breakers for the first time and all I can say I wished I had stayed there sooner. I have always stayed off site and I have found most of those hotels leave a lot to be desired. On to Cedar Point itself. Steel Vengence is now my favorite coaster there. As a guy in the Hotel said "its riding Maverick on steroids" . I did manage to get 2 rides on it yesterday even with it being down most of the day. My 2nd ride was during the Pass Holder event. For those who say stay away in May, I find its the best time to go. Lines are at most 15 to 20 minutes tops. In August when I go back I know I will have to get Fastlane as its usually really busy then. After all the years I have been going to Cedar Point and having Wonderland as my home park, I have notice big differences that make it feel like they aren't part of the same chain. Having a signature sitdown restaurant in the park is strange to me. Cedar Point has Melt and Chickie and Petes. I can't even think of one at Wonderland. All the ride ops on all the coasters at Cedar Point try to entertain the riders as well as tell you about the coaster. I never see that at Wonderland. I think the biggest thing that blows my mind is how at Wonderland they never mention Platinum passes anywhere.
  21. I have a platinum pass and my home park is Canada's Wonderland. I go many times a year and I never buy Fast Lane. I just don't think its worth it as if you have a seasons pass you will end up riding many of the rides multiple times anyway. As far as the Fast Lane season pass, I don't see them selling many cause of the price. The reason I say that, is cause they already have a hard time selling platinum passes and those are half the price. For some reason it seems not many people that go to Canada's Wonderland now about the Platinum pass or that there is other parks they can go to with it. I think the best way for them to advertise it more, is when they show the POV's of other coasters from coasters from other parks, add a little thing at the end saying you could visit that park for free with a platinum pass. Like I said earlier in this thread, of the 3 Cedar Fair parks I have visited this year, Canada's Wonderland is the only one that really doesn't promote the Platinum pass.
  22. I'm not a platinum pass holder (I am a Canada's Wonderland season pass holder), but during my two visits to Kings Island over the past few years (July 2014 and June 2016), I have noticed the ride operators and attendants to be much more enthusiastic than the ones at Canada's Wonderland. Although when I had visited Dorney Park during June 2015, the ride operators were very unenthusiastic. But, I do notice that the ride operators at Canada's Wonderland are very polite most of the time. As for the platinum pass, I suppose Canada's Wonderland does not promote it too much as Canada's Wonderland is Cedar Fair's only Canadian amusement park and some of the people who attend Canada's Wonderland do not feel the need to travel to the US to visit these amusement parks. There is also a lack of awareness that Canada's Wonderland is apart of the Cedar Fair chain which consists of 10 other amusement parks other than Canada's Wonderland. Surprisingly, some people who visit still think Paramount owns the park (even though Cedar Fair acquired Paramount Parks in 2006)! Then there is a cost of the platinum pass which stops people from buying it, if they know about it. If people complain about ticket prices or regular season pass prices, then they definitely are not going to consider buying a platinum pass as its out of their reach or spending limit. I do have intentions of becoming a Cedar Fair platinum pass holder eventually, but at the moment, I do not travel much due to college and the start up of my career, but when I do have the chance to travel I will consider purchasing a Cedar Fair platinum pass due to the value and savings it provides. I do get what you are saying about the platinum pass. I realize that since Canada's Wonderland is the only Canadian park its hard to promote the US parks as the closest one is 5 to 6 hours away. The other thing I have noticed as well with some people is that they have no idea any of the other parks exist. I just think they should promote it more then they do. The one thing I have really noticed is that for a park that is very similar to Canada's Wonderland, I found Kings Island much better. A lot of it is the atmosphere around the park. Having enthusiastic ride ops makes a big difference. Don't get me wrong, I love going to Canada's Wonderland. Especially now that my niece is big enough to ride most of the rides now.
  23. I have a platinum pass for Wonderland as its my home park. I have already been 5 times so far this season. On top of that I have been to Kings Island and Cedar Point this season too. After being to Kings Island and Cedar Point I have noticed a lot of differences between the 2 in Ohio and Wonderland. The biggest difference is the atmosphere of the parks. I found that the Ride Ops in the 2 Ohio parks were very enthusiastic on all the coasters compared to the ones at Wonderland. The biggest difference I have found is how the parks promote the Platinum passes. Cedar Point and Kings Island had ads and signs pushing for people to get the Platinum pass. At Wonderland there is hardly any mention of it other then on the parks website. From the people I have talked to while in line for different rides, very few even know that if you get a Platinum pass it gives you free entry into Cedar Point and other parks. My question is why doesn't Wonderland promote it more?
  24. I went to SeaWorld for my first time since I was a kid last thursday. It has changed a lot since then and for the better. I enjoyed my day and got to see almost everything except for the sea lion show as it was on at the same time as the dolphin show. It wasn't overly busy but every show I went to was just about full. Being that the shows were full I would have thought the same for the rides as well. All 3 coasters were walk-ons all day long. I don't know what its like in the busy months but from what I seen, the coasters never seem like they are very busy. On to the rides. Manto: My first ride of the day. I got ride this one 5 times. I would say its my favourite of the 3 there. I love the first drop and the water effects. Kraken: I got to ride this one 3 times and found it a bit rough. The only thing I will say is how it felt the coaster was placed in a random back lot spot. Mako: I enjoyed this hyper but in my opinion I find Behemoth a better coaster. I did like all the airtime that this coaster has. I will say the theming for Mako and all the coasters in the park are well done. My only complaint for the day is the second time I rode the Penguin ride. When I went on it the first time the wild side was quite fun so I thought since I was going by there again I would ride it a second time. I got in line for the wild ride and as I was getting on, a family with a small child was in the row behind me. At first I thought it was kind of odd, putting a little kid on a bit of wild ride. Then found out they changed it and I ended up getting a mild ride that really doesn't do much. Other then that, my day at SeaWorld was lots of fun. All the shows were well done and the I liked the fact that the coasters were walk-ons all day.
  25. Was at the park today for the food trucks. I missed out last year but will definitely go again next year if they bring it back. They had lots of options to pick from but it wasn't very busy. It would be really cool if other parks in the chain could do it. It was a really odd day at the park today. They set up the food trucks by psyclone, which maybe why the lines were short on that side of the park. Behemoth had a 10 minute wait all day and stunt coaster had a 20 minute wait. The busiest part of the park was the kid area. I have noticed that of all the parks I have visited recently Wonderland seems to have the busiest kid area. The only complaint is how many families think its ok to line jump. One time a lady and her 3 kids left the line only to come back a few minutes later and skipped past every one to go back to her spot in line. Another time my sister and her kids were going on Boo Blasters and a lady let 5 kids and her friend jump past my sister. The worst part of it is the park doesn't do much about it.
