^ Probably an average wait time of 20-30 min if it's a nice day. -

It was a fantastic day for our group, and personally it's always my favorite day of the year. My day is spent riding with kids that I have had in class and some that I had never had in class. I buy the funpix just for this day and post all the pictures on this cork board in my classroom. Usually I cut it really close in terms of being able to get a ride/picture with every student that wants one. But with the park being so dead I got everyone in with 3 hours to spare. And then the very best part of the day is convincing students who are scared and intimidated to at least get on one of the more mild coasters. Today I was especially proud of a student who just moved to my district last year from Kuwait. She chickened out at first but the end of the day I got her to ride the Mine Ride, and she loved it. Then she went on Gemini and was hooked, and I got a pic with her on Maverick with her hands up. She probably wins the prize for doing the biggest 180 in terms of going from being scared to being hooked. The other highlight of the day was when a fellow teacher had to take a walk of shame on SV. I don't know if I've ever laughed so hard. And the funny thing is that he fit in the test seat. Now there were no students around, it was just me and him, and I would never embarrass him like that in front of students. We're very good friends so it was cool... The only negative was MF being down for what seemed like the entire day. But it was up at some point. -

Don’t like hearing that SV was down today. Tomorrow is our school trip for the students who have outstanding attendance... and yes I get the irony of rewarding kids who rarely miss class by letting them miss class. Anyway I organize the trip every year and this year I moved it up because the crowds are usually lighter. But with the strange start this season I’m really hoping I didn’t screw the kids out of the chance to ride SV. I teach in a low income district and most of our kids have never been to an amusement park before and won’t be going back anytime soon. So this is their one chance for a while. Yeah it’s been a classic Mother’s Day at CP. 8 rides and counting on SV. For whatever reason no Rougarou at all, MF only running 1 train since 4ish, and Wicked Twister only running 1 train as well........ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

^ Yeah ditto. Don’t want to jinx it but virtually no wind today and it’s deader than dead. I’ve already hit everything that’s open and back in line for SV which is about an hour long right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

So far that’s true. Gemini is testing both sides. I can’t complain though, so far 2x on SV, 2x Maverick, 2x TTD and about to hit Valravn Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I think it's safe to say that most of the students in the area go back the week of August 12. Mason goes back on the 14th, Lakota on the 15th, Kings on the 15th, and Sycamore on the 15th. And the Catholic schools probably start earlier. -

The app tells me I have to be in the park to see the wait times Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The site uses a GPS scrambler to trick the app into thinking it's on CP ground. Or any park, depending on what you're looking at. Either way this has been covered before. Oh ok. I don't go back as far as a lot of you on here so I didn't know, Thanks. -

I'm planning on making the trip over tomorrow. Should be short lines (if not complete walk-ons) for most of the big rides due to the weather forecast (high of 51 with clouds and rain chances late in the evening AND it being a weekday). The wind might be an issue, but it's not supposed to get above 15 mph until later. Good luck! It looks like it could literally rain all day. -

^ We'll see, I think it's only going to rain in the morning on Sunday. Mother's day is usually a pretty light day anyway, add to it the 90% chance of rain and somewhat chilly temperatures and it could be a GREAT day because the park will most likely be completely dead. Maybe I can ride SV a few times without getting off -

I've had 4 meals this season, 2 bacon cheeseburgers from the Juke Box Diner across from Vortex, and Pizza, and I have to say that the burgers both times were pretty darn good. Huge improvement from the past. Pizza is OK, not bad not good. Haven't tried the new Coney BBQ place but everyone I know who has says it's outstanding. I would stay away from the Reds Hall of Fame Grill. Never had a decent meal there. -

I love the Reds stadium. Yeah they suck but I think their stadium is one of the better places to watch a game in baseball. You asked about unique food options, I don't know if Italian food is unique to you, it is to some... I don't mean to be a snob, but I'm Italian, was raised on traditional Italian cooking, and I cook for myself just about every day. So I know what good Italian food is and Campanello's is the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to. I've probably been there 100 times in my life. It's not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination. This place is VERY old school. The owners work hard and they have the stains on their aprons and clothing to prove it. And the food runner was probably in the middle of making dough so when was told to serve you your food he could be covered in flour. So just a heads up because that can rub some the wrong way. But the food is absolutely unbelievable! http://www.campanellos.com/ -

Employees told me it isn't certified yet mostly due to bad weather. I kind of selfishly hope that the MCBR never works because if the train is slowed down the back half won't be as good. -

OK so I was at the park today and was on the platform about to board the next train for my very first ride when Digger rammed Chess from behind. I saw someone's comment who said something along the lines that one train was moving forward so the train behind it thought it was clear to move into the station. Well, that's what happened. The Chess train had been loaded and was moving out of the station and the Digger train moved into the station and hit Chess from behind. So to those who are thinking that the collision pushed the one train 4 or 5 feet, that was not the case because Chess had been dispatched and moved that distance on it's own. I have to say that I am very satisfied with how the park compensated me with a free fast lane that I can redeem whenever I want. -

For whatever reason Blue Streak gives a wide variety of rides. One day it can be running really well and the next it isn't. Although, the past 2 seasons I would say that about 75% of my rides on it have been pretty good. -

Well, it wasn't as smooth as before. I'll probably be back this Sunday so I'll see how it's running then, but it wasn't just me. On my first ride in the very back while going down the first drop there was almost an Arrow-like vibration and my brother and I looked at each other as to say; are we on Diamondback or Magnum... I'm not saying it's a rough ride, but it was certainly less smooth at certain points in certain seats.
