  1. But the MCBR grabs hard enough that you can make a pit stop and get back to the train before it goes into the 2nd half of the ride so you won't need to let us know about the bathroom breaks. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The days we're gonna be at the park the temperature will be in the 90s - a little concerned they're going to ramp up the MCBR, hopefully I'm wrong. So far it hasn’t slowed any train down today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. At the park today. Going to see how many rides I can get on SV without fast lane, and only taking breaks for the bathroom and my 2 meals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Mine is always changing since I go to the park just about every week. But currently it is as follows: 1. Steel Vengeance: my overall #1 and almost a perfect ride in every aspect. 2. Maverick: the drop is still the best in the park and it’s still the best drop on any coaster I’ve ridden. 3. Top Thrill Dragster: the launch is still easily the most intense element I’ve experienced on any coaster. 4. Raptor: still my #1 invert. 5. Millennium Force: was my overall #1 for a very long time, and it’s still great, but not as thrilling as it was when it first opened. 6. GateKeeper: Really underrated IMO. I like that it gives such a vast variety of rides depending on where you sit. 7. Valravn: love the drop and inversions. 8. Rougarou: I think it has a brilliant first half, but the second half is just boring. 9. Blue Streak: I’ve always enjoyed it. As long as your not on a wheel seat and not stapled in you should get a somewhat smooth ride with a lot of air. I have always said that with some re- tracking and changing the restraints back to buzz bars with seat belts optional that this could be Phoenix-like. Although I’ve never been on Phoenix... 10. Gemini- pretty smooth with decent amounts of air, a racing element and pretty forceful helix. Yeah, I’m a Gemini fan! 11. Wicked Twister: fun launch, great back seat ride, probably a top 5 coaster at most parks. 12. Magnum XL 200: I don’t know what happened to this ride this year. At the end of last year it was running very well. This year I have yet to get a decent ride on it. I used to be against the idea of it getting the steel phantom treatment, but now I’m all for it. 13. Iron Dragon: pretty smooth and comfortable but just not thrilling at all. 14. Corkscrew: I’ve never liked this. When I was young it was a headbanger, and now the restraints dig into my shoulders making it extremely uncomfortable. 15. Cedar Creek Mine Ride: pretty boring and rough. The helix is fun. 5. ^ I wouldn’t worry. I was worried yesterday that it wouldn’t open and it did, eventually. And apparently today it’s open. If there was anything wrong at all it would not be open. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah it’s most likely fine, They wouldn’t have opened it if it wasn’t. But I think it’s certainly something to be aware of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I visited both parks earlier this year and for me it’s not even close, Kings Dominion wins hands down just based on having I305 and twisted Timbers alone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I was at the park yesterday and when I was driving by SV to park in the Shores lot there were multiple trucks with people on lifts ( if that’s what they are called) looking at this exact spot. SV eventually did open with 2 trains and I got 2 rides. The MCBR was pretty heavily trimmed but that has nothing to do with the section in question. The speed into the MCBR was by far the fastest I have ever experienced and I’ve been on it over 30 times now. Maybe RMC is really getting close to the line of what coasters actually can and can’t do. 9. Thanks for the info everyone, it was very helpful. I’m really looking forward to visiting the park! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hey guys thanks for the responses. I appreciate the idea of using the ferry to cross Lake Michigan. I’d be leaving Detroit around 5-530 which should get me into the Chicago area between 9 and 10 pm. The ferry is something I would do if I was with my GF, but I’m doing this solo, and if it’s not going to save me too much time I don’t really want to add that much of an expense. Which brings me to the food. I have the six flags dining plan so unless there’s absolutely nothing editable to eat in the park I don’t want to spend money I don’t have to. Maybe I’ll stop at that pizzeria when I get into town for a late dinner. One of those opened here a year ago and I wasn’t impressed, so I’m thinking and hoping that the Chicago locations are better. Another question, how is this park with letting you ride with keys, wallets, and a phone in a zipped pocket, and a hat down your shirt? I was at great adventure earlier this season and I was shocked they didn’t let you ride some coasters with a hat down your shirt and little items in a zipped pocket. Thanks. 11. Hey everyone, I’m planning on visiting from The Detroit area in the near future and I have a couple Park questions and Chicago traffic questions. My plan is to visit on a Saturday. I will drive to the area and stay the night on Friday, and then stay Saturday and drive to some town on Lake Michigan, spend half a day and then drive home. How busy is weekend traffic? Will it be a big pain in the a - - to stay somewhere in Indiana on Friday night and make the rest of the drive on Saturday morning? I also see that there is a toll road. Will taking that road north save time? I wouldn’t mind paying a small toll if it saves me enough time. Now for the questions about the park. I am planning on getting a flash pass, I’m just not sure which one as I have never used six flags’ flash pass before. How much time do I save with the more expensive options? Any suggestions about where to eat would be appreciated. And any tips about magic seats, especially on the woodies would also be appreciated. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It looks like most of the jobs at CP pay less than $10 an hour. I’m in The Detroit area and I can’t go 10 yards without seeing a help wanted sign and there have been a lot of new businesses open at least by me since Jan 1. And they all pay at least $10 an hour. I don’t know if this is the same in Toledo, Cleveland, or anywhere in between, but maybe there is just too much competition in the job market and people are staying home to work. 13. Just rode SV again, but this time in the back row. (Also got to cut in front of everyone on the stairs as they were looking for a single rider) This time the MCBR didn’t stop the train as much, or maybe I didn’t feel it being in the back. But this time the back end was as crazy as it should be. Definitely got a lot of air on the drop after the MCBR. Hopefully this is how the ride runs from now on! Also this was my first ride (of 30 or so) on Digger, so maybe they are close to running 2 trains... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’m glad to hear the MCBR doesn’t have the same negative impact for most that it does for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. It’s not just that drop, the entire 2nd half is noticeably weaker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Rode in row 7 today and I was in every row before today. Got air in every row after the MCBR except row 1 before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. With the MCBR activated, is it running one or two trains? Still only 1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Just rode SV for the first time with the MCBR and it really makes the 2nd half not as fun, especially the drop right after it, absolutely no air time. Still a great ride but not the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. If THAT'S your biggest fear, sounds like life must be pretty sweet right about now! If that's their biggest fear they must not live in the US. My biggest fear within the context of amusement parks.. And I live in the US. Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. This has always been my biggest fear. I’ll be there tomorrow so hopefully it doesn’t slow it down too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Some people just can’t take a joke Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Terrible analogy. SFGAdv is still a good park. By comparison it’s a glorified carnival. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. That’s like saying would you rather listen to the Ramones or nickelback. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. ^ This week, and next week Monday- Thursday should be pretty dead. I was there during the week last week and everything except SV was a complete walk on unless you wanted to wait for the front row's.
