  1. Oh My Goodness!! I can't believe I'm going to miss this event. I'm getting married on the 29th of October, it is going to be a halloween wedding(haven't figured out what I'm going to be yet!)but we are going on our honeymoon first and we are going to be in ORLANDO!! My fiance' and I are staying at the Royal Pacific, but we won't be down until Oct.22. Is there any way you can change the date so we can hang out with the gang from TPR? I'll understand if you can't, but it would be nice to meet all of you in person. We are going to be in Orlando from the 22nd to the 27th. We are doing 1 day at Disney and the rest at Universal. I'll send pics of our trip and of our Halloween wedding!
  2. Can you help me get the little friend icon back on my avatar. I don't want people to think I'm rude. Also, how do I get the time zone line in my neck of the woods on the map. I've tried at least 100 times to get it right but it doesn't seem to work for me.Thanks!
  3. I'm 31 and my first coaster was a woodie called "The Flyer" along the boardwalk on Hunt's Pier in Wildwood,NJ. It was white and stood at the beginning of the pier. I remember my mom had a straw hat on because she didn't want to do her hair that night. I thought that she was going to lose it, but she didn't. This was around 1979. "The Flyer" is no longer around, it was torn down about 15 years ago(1990). Hunt's Pier had another coaster also called "The Golden Nugget". It had elements of a dark ride incoroparted into it. I loved that ride so much. We would go on that ride over and over again when we were kids. It was kind of like a runaway train, but with crazy effects. It was so cool. Then someone bought Hunt's Pier and turned it into Dino Landing Pier and turned The Golden Nugget mine theme into a Jurrasic park theme, but the pier didn't stay open long under that theme and sadly the Golden Nugget closed along with the pier. I think ACE is trying to save the Golden Nugget from certain doom. I hope so, because it is part of my childhood and I don't want to see it get torn down like The Flyer did. Hunt's Pier also had a looping coaster called "The Kamikaze". It had 7 loops if my memory serves me correctly. It was a cool coaster, but they also tore that down. That coaster was only up for a couple of years(1988-1992or93).
  4. I live in Philadelphia, so here are estimated time travels for me to area parks. Dorney Park-1hour, HersheyPark-2hours,SFGA-1hour,Clementon Amusement Park,NJ-20 minutes,Atlantic City,NJ-45minutes(Steel Pier has a couple of rides, plus a crazy mouse)Wildwood,NJ-1hour(also along the shore line, 3 piers with coasters and various rides)Note to readers, Clementon Park is a small "ghetto park" but still fun to visit. I'm not sure about travel times to Kennywood and Knoebels parks, never been to them but would like to visit.Hope this helps!
  5. Can someone give me some info on the ride called 'Insanity' in Vegas? I read a small snippet about it and saw a picture of it in my 'Readers Digest' May 2005 copy. And if you guys are coming out to the East Coast, let me know, I live near all the big parks in PA and NJ. This is my 1st post, so please be kind. Thanks!
