  1. Would Excalibur be a good fit for the park? It has heritage & pedigree beyond its family friendly nature. The structure is simpler to dismantle than a more forceful hybrid and it would good in a wooded area.
  2. I presume an employee will be on hand watching folks who'll be queuing either side of the level crossing as the barriers go up & down throughout opening weekend. Hopefully somebody gets this amusing spectacle on video. It might be easier not to run the train at all in the first few days.
  3. A little late to the Dueling Dragons indignation myself, I'll post my own experience with these sadly departed beasts; I rode Ice, once, in March 2007, not in the front row either. I was with my drama class and after walking through the (magnificent, and then empty) queue line, they didn't fancy doing so again to let us all switch sides. The first duel with Fire scared me, the sucker was barrelling right towards me like a deranged lunatic then we flipped away at the last moment. I distinctly remember not really noticing the following two duels. Sucks I never got to ride Fire, or indeed even try the front row at all, but at least the duel was on that day. I feel the claustrophobia of the queue was meant to contrast with the freedom of flying. A casual HP fan myself, seen the films once or twice, haven't bothered buying them yet. Read all the books once. A simulator is no replacement for this complete, satisfying B&M experience. Is it really a simulator we're getting? Sheesh
  4. Still sucks they removed the engines on the back of the Dragster cars. I guess queue times take priority. Are the scareactors really apt to jump in the Skyride next to you this year?
  5. So what's stopping Disney from sinking a cool billion into a Marvel World, and finally giving coasterheads a reason to drop their own cool pennies in Disney's pockets? Seriously, I'm planning a Florida to Ohio road trip, as many decent parks and coasters as I can ride, and Disney simply isn't on the agenda, because they only cater to families with small kids as far as I can see. What's stopping them finally taking that step and announcing a new thrill park filled with coasters themed to their industry-crushing Marvel property? Iron Man, a B&M flying coaster, Captain America, a Giga coaster, Black Widow, a Gerstlauer Infinity, I could go on and on... ..and I don't even like Marvel. But it's their ticket to my money... ...all they'd be missing is Hulk and Spider Man, although the latter might change with the rights swinging 'tween Sony and Disney, not sure about all those studio politics.
  6. I've joined up now just to agree with you! It's amazing how I rode it over ten years ago and I still remember just how forceless and dull it was. I actually muttered "that sucks" during the first drop!
