Like I said, the alternative is not having the TPR forum anymore and I can focus on social media instead which is where the majority of our traffic is now anyway. My only suggestion if it really bothers you that much is to simply follow us on social media (and there are ads there, too) or get used to it. Hi Robb, thanks for your reply I really didn't mean it so bad. It's just the only thing I'd change if I could. Nothing that would prevent me from being on the forums anyways. Just keep on giong, we all will get used to the ads sooner or later.
-
Yeah, I was also wondering. Nice from you, Robb, to inform us. I do sometimes have ads, sometimes not. We're not allowed having ad blockers at work, so I just will get used to it. The one thing I really dislike ar the ads between the posts. They are somehow uncomfortable. For the others on the side or the bottom, I don't care.

I really read the entire thread over the last weeks. At the beginning I was like "Oh well.. Somebody plays a game and reports about it.. Let's take a look." I think with your second or third season, you had me. Great storyline. Great that you thought so much before you acted at so many times. I really like what you're doing. Keep going on and keep us informed. Perhaps you may add a Intamin hotness as Expedition GeForce. It would fit the park nicely as it's one of the worlds best coasters and no record breaker at all. Ride (and create) on! -

^^^, ^^^^ Thanks, Dirk and Elissa! So we'll be going there in April, as soon as WP reopens or as part of our proposed EP trip! I hope the kid will be tall enough for his first kiddy coaster(s) then! I somehow think I saw such a structure at Gemini, but that may very well be wrong. -

Another random question. I know this is the CP thread, but I didn't find a Walygator Parc thread, so I ask here: Has anyone ridden Raptor at CP as well as Monster in Walygator Parc? For the ones that don't know: It's an almost exact but slightly longer version of Raptor that once was in a japanese park and sits in nothwest France since 2010. As it's only a 90 minute drive frome my hometown, so I consider taking the wife, the kid and some friends there, visit the zoo and show them the awesomeness of a good B&M invert. My biggest concern is that Monster is somehow rough or just no as good as Raptor, which my wife and I truly love, because of its relocation or bad maintenance. -

We went to Tripsdrill, a small park in Germany, last week for the kid's first amusement park visit and his first rides (6 months old now). While doing that we finally had the opportunity to do Karacho, which was well worth it. Easily the best Gerstlauer I've ever rode. Crazy to see such a small park having such a great ride. The dive loop into the tunnel is now one of my favourite inversions in the world. -

You're definitely having a point there. We'll either fly from Frankfurt (with various opportunities) or from Stuttgart (where my best friend lives), so we'll take that into consideration. You're all making great suggestions. Maybe we'll delay it into 2020 Then my kiddo will be two years old, maybe the wife and he will join us. We'll see. If we do it alone, we have to make a strong schedule, as we will only make seven to ten days. Two days for flying in and out, two days KI, two days CP, one connecting day and the remaining (maximum) three days for extra fun. I know that sounds strict, but we're definitely planning another family trip as soon as the kid(s) are old enough, so if we'll do that in 2019 it will be like making a park trip in Europe - not like an US holiday. Just go there, do the parks and head home. -

^, ^^, ^^^ Oh wow, I thought it was longer from Detroit. But The Indy ideal with Holiday world is surely a great one. If we do the bro trip, we'll most surely only will do parks and coasters. We made a big USA trip last year with NASCAR, IMS and Eldora. So as much as I like racing, my friend doesn't, so.. Let's ride coasters So Holiday World, Cedar Point and Kings Island sounds like a completely well designed scenario for a seven to ten day trip. Thanks for all your input, mates. I appreciate it. It's nice to get a view from inside! -

Thanks for the quick replies, folks! Yeah, I think Detroit might be a bit far away. It would have to be a very cheap connection to use that. So changing planes will we be the plan. I thought of that. We were at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last year we drove to CP directly. That was well manageable. Thanks! So we definitely like to fly in, take the rental, do one park, drive to the second, drive back to the airport and return the rental an fly out. So Columbus seems to be the most logic thing. -

So.. Random Question.. I'm thinking about convincing a friend of mine for a CP and KI trip some time. Has anybody experience in flying to mid Ohio from Germany? If not, what would you think is the best plan for the trip? To which airport should we fly? Any hints for planning? -

I saw that on the webcams yesterday. My only thought was, that the weather on the top of Power Tower looked far worse that it was in reality. The only ride I did not see running was Dragster and Gemini. The others looked to have a reasonable amount of trains running. -

For future reference, I don't know 100% but I'm 90% sure town hall could have helped you in the back of the park. Maybe the gift shops were not able to redeem the free ones, but almost definitely town hall. I'm not sure about this. When we were there in 2017 we couldn't use our prepaid FL+ vouchers on the day we purchased them, so we were there in town hall and asked what to do. The utterly nice man explained us, that we have to go to the very front of the park because everything he was able to do was giving out wristbands if you have a prepaid voucher for the same day. Every other cases have to go to the fast lane booth at the entrance. So the story seems plausible. -

The park just put up a few small indiscriminate posters. Any hype surrounding them was generated by enthusiasts so if all they're trying to do is put together a cohesive storyline for Frontiertown you can't turn around and blame them for the hype. They haven't really done much of anything, people are just letting their imaginations run wild (which is fine as long as you acknowledge that you're doing it to yourself). No, Bill, I think I wasn't clear enough what I meant. I do in no way blame them for "advertising too much" of any related stuff. Quite the reverse: I love it how they exactly know what they are doing with us enthusiasts when they put up these little posters - and know in the same second that they won't do anything that deserves the hype (like just paint a building right now). But nonetheless I think you can blame them for the hype, because they well know that some enthusiasts will jump onto the hype and they like to play along with us in that way. Just think of the number games before GateKeeper was official or the hints around Snake River Falls (R.I.P.). But as it's my sense of humor, I like and appreciate it very much. As much as I like that Frontiertown gets more and more a themed area with a holistic storyline. -

So.. May that be what all the hype in mid summer was about, when there were the posters with something regarding trains and the Cedar Creek Mining Company in Frontiertown? I don't have the picture on hand, but it was posted either here or in the KI thread. That would really be a lot of hype for nearly nothing. But on the other hand.. We're talking about CF, aren't we!? -

Sounds as the park is in desperate need of its hibernation.. I'm glad noone is hurt. I'm so sad that this great park is in such a climatical nightmare (from the point of an amusement park of course - I don't want to offend anyone living in real weather related problems). -

All Season FunPix is valid at all participating CF Parks. Michigan's Adventure, Dorney & Valleyfair are the only 3 that currently don't have it. That makes sense. You really don't want photo evidence that you were there. -

So.. I don't personally see a problem having a giga and a hyper in one park - as long as both are unique experiences, like Magnum and Millennium Force in Cedar Point. Although I know that these are different manufacturers (and none of them being B&M), both are so different in style and layout that I don't feel redundancy. As Diamondback is one of the best B&M hypers (IMHO) I could well imagine a giga popping up there. That being said, I of course hope to see something truly unique and new at KI in 2020. Launched flyer, launched giga, whatever. But with everything like Diamondback and better, I'll be satisfied and crazy for our return to the States. -

I have a hard time to imagine the park being so crowded. We were there in July 2017 for four days and on the third day there were so many people that Fast Lane was the only way to go - and when we saw the parking lot from GateKeeper is was three quarters empty. It really has to be insane when there are so many people in the park at the same time, that this is completely full and the cars are stacked on the causeway. -

^Yeah, when we were there in July 2017 we really had the feeling that KI is close to our european parks if you focus on the rides. We were without children, so we didn't notice the lack of having enough family rides. When we went back to Europa Park in fall, we thought, that KI (and CP) would need some more balanced rides if we will come back with children to be fully enjoyable for visitors that don't like coasters (or aren't able to ride them because of the height restrictions). When they announced the Antique Cars, we immediately knew this will be a hit. -

Many people forget to zipper the pockets on their shorts. [sarcasm] Isn't this the purpose of the ride OPs? Control your pockets and zip them for you if you forgot it? [/sarcasm] -

Yeah, but let's think further: Now you can have the phone with you - again - until you are directly at the train. I see no difference to the situation before. Who guarantees and checks that really all cell phones that were in line are going to the bags underneath the seats? You'd have to check everybody somehow, maybe with a physical check or with handy metal detectors. And that is what Robb supposed way, way ago what they could have done first hand to solve the problem. Get me: I'm totally against the policy to give away the phone for a two hour line. But given the fact that they want no cell phone put out on the lift hill, I really see no improvement if not every person is checked individually. What could have, but isn't, been done the wohle time. What I appreciate is, that it will be a bit more convenient for those who are not completely morons. The operators that pull down your laps bars are also doing a visual scan to check for phones on your person. It's not foolproof, but they were pretty damn good at catching people with phones in their pockets when I was at KD in August. I would also like a more efficient way like the wands they use in Japan, but considering today's phones are as big as tablets, it's fairly difficult to conceal one. I totally get you and I think this procedure is far better then the ridiculous phone ban before. I appreciate it. I just thought of their goal "No phone on the ride". And my opinion is, that this goal is not achievable with this new procedure. So I'm curious why they changed it (to something they could've done way before). Otherwise: The bags, connected with an immediate ban from all CF parks for a year if you put your phone out an a ride, wuold be perfection. But as far as I understood it's just implemented at Twisted Timbers in KD yet, so let's wait if Steel Vengeance copies it after all. -

I don't know if anybody saw it or is interested in, but on Google Maps (satellite look) has the park been updated! The former was somewhen from the removal of Disaster Transport. Now it's a view to the Point from around July 2017 (as you see on Steel Vengeances progress which matches exactly my pictures from the second week of July).
