  1. ^ There is no place in the universe that loves, enjoys, and celebrates all things pig more fully than the great state of Iowa.
  2. and why were going into space to go to alaska (so random)? it made no sense. i mean, if we were going to the moon, or mars, or something, ok, i'm on board, but DT's story always seemed very odd to me.
  3. The history angle really only applies to Pennsylvania, and the rest of the northeast. The Midwest (despite its illustrious roller coaster history) only has 1 golden age roller coaster left: Legend at Arnolds Park. The Midwest is positively flush with wooden coasters (41 total), but all of them (except a few) have been built within the last 45 years. It's a modern phenomenon, not a holdover from the golden age.
  4. The Midwest + Pennsylvania just has a thing for parks with lots of wooden roller coasters. Here is the global list of parks with 3 or more wooden roller coasters: Blackpool: 5 SF Great America: 4 Kings Island: 4 Mt. Olympus: 4 SF St. Louis: 3 Holiday World: 3 Kennywood: 3 Knoebels: 3 Hersheypark: 3 Michigan's Adventure: 3 Kings Dominion: 3 Canada's Wonderland: 3 Adventureland: 3 Indiana Beach: 3 Camden: 3 All but 4 of those parks are located in the Midwest + Pennsylvania (and CW and Camden are close enough to be thrown in with that general region as well).
  5. What a dynamite idea! I couldn't possibly think of a finer legacy for this old intamin stand-up.
  6. What on god's green earth are you blathering on about? You want to settle this? then let's actually settle it, with FACTS, not conjecture or impressions. This is an aerial image from Google Earth with the footprint of Xcelerator outlined in yellow. Per Google Earth's measurement tool, the area contained with the yellow boundary is 1.52 acres. I'm utterly dumbfounded that you have somehow found it necessary to continue making your very foolish argument.
  7. Yeah, I'm sure Bat gives a solid night ride too, I've just never given it a whirl in the dark, what with all of the other awesome night rides in the park.
  8. Yeah, I've heard many people talk about mean streak's "lame" layout over the years, but the layout was never the problem with the ride. The layout was/is solid, the problem was that the ride became a series of interconnected ramps after the 2nd drop instead of real deal roller coaster drops.
  9. I think KI might just have the best collection of bona fide "night ride coasters". I mean beast, diamond back, banshee, and now mystic timbers, what other park can compete with that?
