Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Holy crap! I didn't mean to start a war between the VIP tourist (The Skies) and the FL+ tourist (The Urchins)... That was a Johnny Sunami referrence FYI. Anyway, thanks for both sides giving me feedback. But, since my girlfriend and I will already have a Platinum Pass for 2018, we were thinking about splurging and getting FL+ on a Friday and the VIP tour on Saturday. Will we need a FL+ for KI when we visit the park in early August? This is 2018 we are talking and I know we can't predict the future -

I'm totally getting the Platinum Pass next year! My home park is KD, soooooo pumped for Hurler and Mean Streak. I'm doing a KI & 2 day CP trip next year for my B-Day. Has anyone done/recommend the CP VIP tours or should I just stick with the Fast Lane Plus and save the money? -

Wait a second, what? People in a community for chicken are discussing CP's 2018 roller coaster theme?? EDIT: I must've missed the latest word filter, but that gave me a good laugh! Thanks to whoever made that! HAHAHA if you type out "Coaster" and "Force" as one word, It automatically changes it to Bojangle's when you submit your post... I'm assuming the owner of this site changed it as he dislikes the Coasterforce?!?! HAHAHA Didn't know there was a war between the two websites. Anyway, getting back on topic. Gunslinger! Each of the 3 trains are a different gunslingin' character as their trains race through the wild west, "the RMC Mean Streak," in search of the stolen mega pot in the poker tournament that took place! I think I just copied the plot of the movie, Maverick, but still... It would be cool! -

Coaster Force... No clue why it says Bojangle's? HAHA -

Some guy on the Coasterforce forum suggested that it seems like with all these teasers it's setting up for some type of shootout. I like where his head is at and I was thinking a name like "Gunslinger" would be an awesome name for the RMC Mean Streak. Just thinking that would be a very cool theme to a ride -

28ft taller? Just a guess It would make it 111ft tall which is close to what most people are predicting by the angle of the new lift. Hmmm -

It looks like a teaser for Haunt, but it's got to be for Hurler. -

The fact you think there is still a chance that the new Mean Streak will duel is proof you had too much to drink! I mean, that's just drunk talk... -
There's almost never a difference in the wait time. The difference is that Platinum gives you access to some coasters that Gold does not, and allows rerides on some coasters. I always say wait until you get to the park to decide whether you want to buy a Flash Pass, especially on Fridays, they can sometimes be unpredictable. It sucks to buy a Flash Pass and then get to the park and find it completely dead. That's great advice, especially since the tickets are pretty expensive. Sounds like I should just purchase the Gold Flash Pass? I was unaware you could purchase the Gold and Platinum Flash Passes when you arrive at the park. Will the prices be the same or are they cheaper buying and reserving them online? I tried researching this on their website, but it isn't very user friendly on my iPad and why I am forced to ask the professionals on TPR hahaha

How in the heck do they do they maneuver the machinery around and inside to construct inside the structure?!?! I find roller coaster construction very fascinating and RMC baffles me with this coaster remodeling. -

I totally agree with you!!! Does anyone else think they are moving along very very fast?!? I'm starting to think this might actually open up late 2017!!! Oops I didn't mean to start up the 2017/2018 discussion... I'm thinking the lift hill and first drop will take a long time and hence the 2018 opening and the CF quarterly call. -

Wow, that pic with the outward banked turn! This is the first pic I have seen from that angle and I didn't realize how much extra wood is still attached and sticking out... Do you think it's to build a wall/nets so flying objects won't be raining down below to smack someone in the face as they are strolling through Frontier Town? HAHA -

I think you answered your question... Only the water filled test dummies rode it with the inline twist. When asked for comments, they didn't answer back. Sadly the world will never know now. I thought the designers, some staff, and construction workers got to test it out before removal? Right? -

Did anyone on this forum ever get to ride Maverick with the in-line twist after the launch (Yes, I know it was removed before it was open to the public)? Do you think that inversion would have improved the already amazing ride or do you think it wouldn't have made a difference? -

Man, there is a lot of complaining on these forums about roughness, head banging, etc of a roller coaster... Suck it up! Magnum is awesome as it was one of the coasters that paved the way! "Ouch... That hurt!" Boo hoo! Suck it up wussies! Did I mention I used to walk to school uphill, both ways! -
Top/Favorite Hyper Coasters
ripleybl replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree that Fury 325 is a giga...But B&M still calls it a hyper. So, I just included it. Not sure why B&M calls it a hyper...But they built it, so I guess they can call it whatever they want. This is a guess, but I'm thinking that Intamin might have the rights to the term "Giga Coaster..." -

She is a Norwegian actor/model! I did my research since no one would answer my question about her! Yes, I'm being sarcastic, but seriously there is an actress and she is hot! http://www.starnow.com/ninakleppe/ Did that guy take a pic of the Mean streak lift hill or was it bs? -

Can someone please explain to me the inside/ongoing joke of "Nina Kleppe likes this?" Who is she?!?! Now back on topic, does anyone think the RMC Mean Streak will add length or decrease length on the ride? -

I have been looking at the pics and reading everyone's posts... So it's true that RMC trucks are at CP or is everything a hoax? I can't tell if people are joking, lying, or telling the truth at this point. -

Rebel Yell. My mom took me on it right when I was tall enough. It was my first ever coaster, actually. Mine in order... 1. Mt Kilimanjaro 2. Scoobie Doo 3. Avalanche 4. Rebel Yell 5. Grizzly 6. Wore baseball cleats to the park and somehow managed to be tall enough to ride Shockwave at 7 years old. I was a tall kid and don't judge me wearing cleats! Lol At least I was smart enough to think of that so I could ride with my big sister and her friends -

I was lucky enough to snag a first rider tshirt on I305. I got to experience the original layout and with no trims on the first drop. Definitely grayed out and I have never experienced that in my life. I still gray out a little, but not as much since they have made all of the modifications. I actually didn't mind the old OTSR and they never bothered me on Maverick either. -

Change of topic for KD... What was your first coaster ever ridden at KD? Surprisingly it was not Scoobie Doo for me and it was Mt. Kilimanjaro... For all of those that aren't as old as me, it was the coaster that ran through the smaller mountain between Volcano and Anaconda. Gosh, it brings back memories of sitting there and watching the ski show in the lake too!
