New Wanda Parks in China.
Gutterflower replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Think its fixed now. There's a 3rd coaster top right. But as RCDB lists it as a knock off SLC and that is clearly not the layout of one so its dubious how accurate the map is anyway. -
New Wanda Parks in China.
Gutterflower replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yup there is. Wanda posted this layout image for it a while back. The park also just announced they have purchased an Intamin Gyro Drop too http://www.wanda-cti.com/2014/latest_0718/949.html Below is some concept art for the park layout too. Woodie top left and the Intamin bottom (it does actually match the above image of the layout too.) -
Tips for Japanese Parks
Gutterflower replied to Achterjaeger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Id recommend booking a bus + ticket combo from FujiQ site before you go and its easy to find the buses outside the station as the Shuttle buses are covered in Fuji Q Adverts. One odd thing to note (I have no idea if it will apply here) is that if you are planning to visit the water park sections of any of the parks the Japanese are extremely sensitive to Tattoos. If you have any visible tattoos you may be barred entry to a water park. It's not true of all water parks but some (Tokyo Summerland for example) have banned them -
Congrats I'm amazed you got her on Big Thunder Mountain first. Kudos for bravery. Looks like she had a good time too. Space Mountain next? I took my 5 year old niece to Paultons Park in the UK last week and at first she refused to go on anything beyond the merry go round. We finally convinced her to ride the log flume and she came off in tears. Thinking it was all over I was about to abandon hope before my dad (her granddad) casually asked do you want to go again? And still in floods of tears she replied that she did. I will never understand women as long as I live From then on she rode most of the bigger rides that she was tall enough for. Got her onto the two Tivoli's there and she loved them both. A proud moment.

The new Gravity Group Woodie looks pretty stunning already. These 2 images are taken from outside the park. Source Onride Video: http://www.hotgopark.com/services/timer.shtml -
Six Flags and China
Gutterflower replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Because there's still plenty of room in China for Theme Parks to enter the market. I know it sounds like there are a lot of theme parks opening up over there but its difficult to get across how big the market could be. China has over 1 billion people more than the USA and although i can't get an exact number there are well over 150 cities over 1 million people. China doesn't have that many big parks really. It has many many city parks with a small collection of Mice and old loopers and I would expect many of those to close with the increase of big name parks such as Six Flags, Fantawild, Disney, Wanda, Universal and Happy Valley. In my opinion they would be insane not to step into the Chinese market. -
IAAPA Asia 2014 Updates!!!
Gutterflower replied to gerstlaueringvar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did Golden Horse essentially buy some NoLimits splines and some CAD models? From the looks of those concepts thats exactly what they did... And from the guys website they look to be either total knockoffs or concepts he developed in CAD and NoLimits. That's kind of what i got from the whole deal i find it a little odd. The guy clearly has some nice ideas but I'm struggling to see how Golden Horse of all companies could put them in to practice. Gerstlaueringvar is there so hopefully he can oblige. I'm literally just scouring Chinese sites for sources and pictures so no control over what I find. Here's a few more pics from Weibo. from Neobee and hinatakulama. -

I feel like I've highjacked your thread a bit here gerstlaueringvar. Sorry about that. Here's a video from Dynamic Attractions about their new ride concepts and their involvement at the Asian Attractions Expo including their Special Effects Coaster design. There's also plenty of shots of the show floor, chats with some industry chaps and some fairly dull meetings. http://vimeopro.com/afpservices/dynamic-attractions-b-roll Below there's also some pictures posted to the Weibo (Chinese Twitter) account of a guy called Denniser. Love the model of the Mack Super Splash at Ocean Kingdom -

Gutterflower replied to gerstlaueringvar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So the 2 Golden Horse designs you took a photo of were bought by Golden Horse from a company called Coaster-Lab Coaster Lab is run by a 19 year old called Camiel Bilsen who is obviously very talented, Although this deal strikes me as odd on many levels. As far as we've seen Golden Horse just don't have the technical no how to buy either of those rides. They'd need to perfect these designs or come anywhere near. Coasterlabs Facebook page can be found here. Anyway congrats to the guy but I'll be keeping an unconvinced eye on this. -

Gutterflower replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If anyone is wondering where the ride is. It's in a new park called Elm Creek Park in the city of Yulini in Shanxi Province (about 800km west of Beijing) It's in this development here. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@38.2695419,109.7468543,742m/data=!3m1!1e3 -
IAAPA Asia 2014 Updates!!!
Gutterflower replied to gerstlaueringvar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Good Info gerstlaueringvar. Its nice to tie in new info with what we already know. Wanda recently mentioned a GCI with Inversions here so that's a possibility. That Golden Horse 16 looper looks mad. They have never done anything with track which twists like that so I struggle to imagine them pulling it off. But I'd be interested to see it in a masochistic sort of way. As far as Fantawild Park woodies go its interesting to know that 2 have Barrel rolls, An educated guess says its likely they are for the 2 new Fantawild Cultural Parks in Jinan and Wuhu. We already know Zhuzhou is a Fjord Dragon clone. The I305 layout looks like it is on the concept ary for of the Wanda Park by in Nanchang. So I imagine its just a place holder for the Intamin mega coaster they announced with the layout below. RCDB - http://rcdb.com/9863.htm -

Awesome gerstlaueringvar. Hope it's a good show. I imagine with the way the Chinese market is developing this is now a much more important trade show on the calendar. As always just interested to see who announces what -

Gutterflower replied to coasterschile's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There will be two of them showing up in China. Then again, nothing is for sure since even Lewa's Intamin projects get turned down. Assuming gerstlaueringvar can't talk about any that are unannounced. But there are 2 rides that are announced that these could be. Theres a Custom Designed Dive Pretzel Coaster For The Great Mall of China just outside Beijing due at the end of this year. And an unknown Custom Designed Launch Coaster for Hotgo Resort in Fushun (North East China) due 2015 Source: http://www.asiaattractions.net/news/show.php?itemid=507&page=2 -
New Triple Corkscrew Coaster.
Gutterflower replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been told this ride is actually built by a new company called Zhipao Rides which split from Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing. Also just found and uploaded this for your viewing pleasure. -
New Triple Corkscrew Coaster.
Gutterflower replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not a bad shout but I'm 99% certain its not I'm afraid. I've been obsessively following the Wanda and Fantawild Parks. (No idea why really beyond ingrained insanity) and its not any of the ones I know about. I'm searching for it at the mo so as soon as i figure it out I'll post it. I'd not noticed the really unbanked turn into the corkscrews. That seems insane. -
Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing have just advertised their new massively mislabeled 6 Ring Coaster. The ride actually only has 5 inversions but most interestingly it has 3 corkscrews in a row. A characteristic which has been unique to Fantasia Special in South Korea for 21 years. Hebei Zhongye don't actually mention where this ride has been built in China but it sure looks interesting. Source

Hey. Bit of an odd question this. I know you guys frequent IAAPA and have done for many years. I'm trying to find an image of the Morgan Spinning coaster they advertised in 2004. There is one picture on TPR which is this one. But the reason I'm interested is I've been told that those so called original Crazy Skateboard rides BJA have built in China are actually rip offs of the layout shown at that IAAPA and the above picture is a little too low res to tell. But it being 10 years ago I've not found a good layout picture. I was wondering if you guys had one tucked away in your archives. It's a long shot but thought it was worth a go. Cheers

OCT have made an official announcement for a new park in the Lijia area of Chongqing, China. The park has been labled as OCT’s first Mountain Happy Valley and will be located alongside the river. (Google maps location) The released concept art shows what’s obviously an S&S launched ride, a sky loop and some kind of looping coaster but as always its really early concept art so it could turn up to be anything. What I think is most exciting about this park is the terrain. The region the park is planned for has some excellent elevation changes and the last time OCT worked with elevation changes they created the GCI Wooden Coaster at Knight Valley. The park is set to open in early 2017 and will open along side a new Maya Water Park, sports complex and indoor garden. Sources: CQ News, China Economic Net, Sina & Ifeng

Fantawild Construction
Gutterflower replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's a nice little map a friend of mine made here https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=z2_C9zJ0zbu4.kIuCmHrUYKHg If you turn off the major parks (Grey ones) you can see the spread of new and existing Fantawild, Wanda, Chimelong and Happy Valley parks including their ride lineups. From what we know about Fantawild parks and their cookie cutter setup I am entirely expecting 4 or 5 Fjord Dragon clones to pop up over the next year or two. -
As with everyone else I've been struggling to keep up with the pace of construction in China and sorry if it seems I've been swamping the forums with them. Everything just moves so fast it seems. Anyway Fantawild have been going a bit mental recently and I've been doing some digging into what they have in the pipeline. Their new park in Zuzhou with the Gravity Group woodie already has a thread here. Most interestingly Fantawild have started to construct a third chain of parks called "Fantawild Cultural Heritage Parks" there are three of these planned and two are already well under way Fantawild Cultural Heritage Park - Jinan The first of these to open. This park is due to get a boomerang and is one of the 4 parks announced by Gravity Group to get a woodie. No sign of any ride construction yet but buildings are going up and according to google maps most of that is completed. (The concept art shows an SLC but this is probably just a placeholder). The park is due to open before the end of the year so I expect to see some woodie action soon. Fantawild Cultural Heritage Park - Wuhu Much the same as the previous one and actually the third Fantawild park in Wuhu. Again the park is expected to get a Boomerang and a woodie (both announced at IAAPA). Also already under construction and expected to open early next year. Fantawild Cultural Heritage Park - Ningbo The third of these parks has only just been announced. It's on the south side of the Hangzhou bay bridge and isn't planned to open until 2016. This article in the Hangzhou Daily mentions two roller coasters including one wooden one. But no confirmation on who's building them. This ones not under construction yet so no images of mud. Just pretty concept art. Fantawild Adventure - Datong A normal fantawild park this. I believe it began construction in 2012 and ran into trouble with authorities in 2013 before restarting construction this year. Is it me or do those rides look super eerie? The park has the usual Fantawild Adventure combo of Golden Horse mine train and SLC rip offs. There's a few more pictures here Fantawild Adventure - Tianjin The closest of all these to opening and should be open any time soon. The park is smaller than most and just sports the ubiquitous Golden Horse SLC with the standard Flare Meteor name. Again I don't want to spam the thread with samey pictures but there's more here if you want them. Fantawild Dreamworld - Zhengzhou The dark horse of the bunch and one that's flown under the radar a bit. This is the second park in Zhengzhou built right next to the existing Fantawild Adventure. The park has definitely begun construction as the latest google sat image shows tons of construction where there was none before. This news article mentions a new woodie but like the Ningbo park no confirmation on manufacturers. The new park is on the left of this image and a new water park set to open this year is on the far right. No confirmation on opening dates for the new park. Well that's it for now. But that's another 6 new parks (5 under construction already) and possibly 4 new woodies (2 confirmed) Construction updates as they arrive but check out this thread for a list of the rest of the projects ongoing in China. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=67888
