To be honest, the double down did not really excite me when I saw the art work, but looking at the real thing thus far, I'm getting pretty amp'd for it. I love how often they have been posting updates on this thing by the way. I'm really excited to have a good woodie in NorCal again (not really counting Giant Dipper as NorCal, more central).

From what I've seen, Legoland Florida did a pretty good job preserving the gardens area of Cypress right? They seem like a company that acknowledges the history of what they purchase and enhance things around it with their park theme. It's funny how huge of a difference the money amount is between Lego and the other offer. To me it seems like a no-brainer, though I don't know any of the politics behind it all. Would be awesome to see Legoland New York though. -

^Isn't Aftershock the tallest at around 200'? EDIT: Ahh... I misread, I thought you were saying this would be second to Panic Plunge... Woops. -
You were right. Didn't drag on at all really. I was expecting them to make it much farther into the quest before the end (Thought they would end as they entered Mirkwood). Really loved the more lighthearted feel of the movie and no so dark and brooding. Can't wait for the next film!

Looking forward to this! I'm interested to see what the medal will look like for the double race. Is it September yet? Do you guys know of any theme park related runs on the west coast? I always find out about them after the fact. I would love to do a SeaWorld or Universal race.

In 2003, Stealth, the former main attraction at CGA was removed for a water park expansion, so if DL removes ME for a good new coaster, it wouldn't be so bad. Stealth also had massive maintenance issues and terrible throughput. Stealth's removal is in no way similar to Darien Lake removing Mind Eraser. And as cool as the ride might have been, I can think of very few who have ever thought anything was the "main attraction" over Top Gun.

Could be that they weren't all delivered at once and there are more. The buses seem like a good idea, especially with penny pinching Six Flags. You could run 3 or 4 buses on staffing for only 2 trams. The bus wouldn't require a safety spotter on the back so it's just the one driver. Also, I'm sure from a maintenance standpoint the old trams are too costly, where a new bus would be relatively easy to maintain. Plus, as already stated, the buses would likely have AC and be much more comfortable for the passengers (though I'm sure that's just a plus and didn't factor into the purchase).

So 2 things: 1. The Mine Coaster is looking wayyyy more impressive than I thought it would be when I first saw the concept. I was expecting a Barnstormer-esque type of coaster. Basic with some theming around (albeit better than Barnstormer, but you get the idea), but this is by far becoming much more of a D-ticket, possibly even an E-ticket sort of attraction rather than the C level I had originally expected it to be at. 2. I love these games they have at the park. I think the Phineas and Ferb one at Epcot seemed the coolest (probably because of my deep seeded childhood fantasy of being a secret agent), but all of theme add so much more to the experience of the park, especially for parents and kids who need a break from standing in lines all day. I really hope we see these sort of things come to Disneyland, cause we all know that resort could use some diversions from long lines.

I'm thinking it will be something that inverts based off the picture they posted. Maybe a new coaster? A Premier coaster like Superman would work great for a smaller park like that. -

Looking good. I never understood why parks have 2 separate kids areas right next to each other. It makes better sense and looks better when it's all one theme. I'm hoping they do it to Kidsville and Planet Snoopy at CGA as well. -
^Flag Ship doesn't always mean huge profit. I know when I worked at SFDK, we were 3rd in the chain for Season Pass sales (behind SFMM and SFGAdv) and that we were the park with the highest profits thanks to variety of animal and theme park merch, added experiences like Dolphin Swims and Elephant Rides, and various other things. Size of the park doesn't always mean largest profits. Don't forget the more rides you build means more staff you have to hire to operate and maintain as well as more spent on parts and upkeep.

For casual use, I love Puma. I have some Puma Romas right now, they are just awesome and comfy. For running I where Brooks. They just work the best with my running style. I used to do New Balance but kept having swelling issues in my ankles and back pain. I have an auto-immune disorder that is similar to Rheumatoid Arthritis so the right running shoes do wonders.

Going to see it tomorrow. Audiences seem to be singing their praises for it, so hopefully that is a big F-U to the critics. It didn't feel to stretched out? That's my biggest fear for it, I don't want to get bored because Peter Jackson just decides to have them talk for an hour between action scenes.

I think the procession is just the first one of the day. They definitely come down main street at some points. I didn't enter for the seats since I knew it was unlikely I would make it down. Plus it's not something I'm overly interested in. I watched a little of Neil Patrick Harris doing it at Epcot a couple weeks ago and didn't really see the appeal, and I typically love Christmas celebrations at theme parks.

Missed this earlier. It was supposed to operate, even got as far as being readied by maintenance and the Crew was trained on it; but the plug was pulled right before opening due to issues with the state requirements before it was signed off for operation. The decision was made to not invest in the changes the state wanted and it was put up for sale and eventually removed at the beginning of 2006... Sad story.
