Totally agree and after reading his trip report it definitely seems like something is mentally wrong. Sounds like it was an awesome trip so the change of heart and hate is just incredible. Definitely can understand why the Alveys wouldn't want to do this anymore. I've never had the opportunity to join a tour like this but would absolutely love to at some point in the future.

Right away? You got lucky. Most of us complain on how slow it is with this new technology. It depends if they are doing the finger scanning or not. If they are, it goes agonizingly slow. If they just scan the pass only, then it goes really quick. I've seen them do both, and without any rhyme or reason. Even on the same morning, some turnstyles would finger scan, and some would just scan the pass. Makes no sense to me. They did both but it was a quick scan of the card and then you moved up to the finger scanning area and it was quick as well. I probably was lucky do to the park being less busy but there really wasn't even a line on the gold pass said when I got there both days.

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread

Looks like another awesome Epcot festival. I really need to get down to one of these events. -
Thanks to extending a business trip this past weekend I finally visited SFMM for my first time. Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which is literally at the entrance to the park and a clean hotel. Weather wise Saturday was overcast, rainy and cold which really worked to my benefit since the park was empty. I arrived around 10:15 am and there were maybe 50 cars in the lot. I really love how SFMM has the separate entrance area for Gold Season Passes. They get you scanned in, through security and into the holding area right away. Then letting the group in 10 minutes before the general entrance opens guarantees at least one quick ride if not more. I think SFNE and GA have something similar but definitely not as clearly marked and run. Once in I started with Goliath and then worked my way around the park counter clockwise. Almost everything was a walk on or couple train wait at most all day. After I made the full loop I then did multiple rides on Goliath and TC again. I wrapped up the day with Full Throttle which had been closed most of the day. 20 rides in total made for an awesome day. Sunday’s weather was sunny and much nicer. I arrived a little after 10 and it was definitely busier. Nothing crazy though. After getting in I got three rides on Full Throttle before the park officially opened. I am a huge fan of this coaster and really hope SFNE adds something like this but longer. It's super smooth and open with the restraints. The rest of the day I decided to just explore the park, take photos and hit a few rides. I had a total of ten rides when all was said and done. I took a ton of pics as well. Overall I really enjoyed the park and like the layout along with how they’ve mixed the coasters into it. My coaster highlights were Twisted Colossus, Tatsu & Full Throttle. X2 was cool but I felt like it was to jerky and my head hit multiple times. Anyways here's my full ride count and a selection of photos I took on Sunday. Goliath x5 Drop of Doom x1 Twisted Colossus x6 Scream x1 Batman x1 Gold Rusher x2 Ninja x2 Tatsu x2 Viper x2 X2 x1 New "Classic" Revolution x1 YOLOcoaster x5 Riddler's Revenge x1 Closed: Apocalypse, Green Lantern & Superman Full Throttle The hang time in the loop is just incredible! Goliath Fun but nothing over the top. The MCBR is basically a full stop which takes away from the flow IMO. Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom Very similar to Zumanjaro at Great Adventure but I liked this one a bit more since it seems even more open being on the side of the tower instead of the center like on Ka. View from my hotel. Amazing Skyline Twisted Colossus Hard to get good shots from inside the park for TC. This is my second RMC with Wicked Cyclone being my first. First run was ok but then it really grew on me. The added "racing element" really adds to this coaster when the timing is right. RMC just makes incredibly smooth, fun and forceful coasters. GA really needs to add an RMC to their collection. Scream! Fun Floorless like it's sister at GA. Batman The Ride At almost 23 years old these B&M clones still delivery on every ride! Riddler's Revenge I'm not really a fan of stand up coasters but this was by far the best one that I've ever been on. Unlike most it wasn't rough and I really liked the theming throughout the ride. Justice League: Battle for Metropolis Not much to see yet but here is what has been done so far. Ninja Fun Classic Suspended Coaster. Really would like to see this style of ride get a modern update. Tatsu This is an amazing flying coaster. The height and interaction with the mountain side just add to the experience. X2 I know a lot of people like this style of ride. It's unique but just not my favorite. My head hit the back of the seat multiple times. New "Classic" Revolution Another great classic coaster. Currently there is no VR which was an added bonus time wise. Viper I wanted to end this trip report with Viper since if the rumors are true this may be the next coaster to go from SFMM. With that being the case I tried to get several different shots to showcase this Arrow looper. Thanks for checking this out. Hope you enjoyed!

For my first visit to SFMM ever this weekend I really benefited from the slightly rainy cool crappy weather. I'll do a full trip report after I go back tomorrow but here's the rides I got in today. Goliath x4 Drop of Doom x1 Twisted Colossus x6 Scream x1 Batman x1 Gold Rusher x1 Ninja x1 Tatsu x2 Viper x1 X2 x1 New "Classic" Revolution x1 Full Throttle x1 (Opened later afternoon) Riddler' Revenge was open but I noticed it breaking down on the lift twice so I skipped it. Closed: Apocalypse, Green Lantern & Superman

Wow this thread came alive! I'd love to see some version of HITP for SFNE but totally agree the DC area would be out. Way to dangerous to worry about with ice. Even if they started with the smallest map you showed it would still give a great variety of rides along with the extra holiday stuff, fire pits, waffle cart etc. It would draw people. A big concern that I see is just the parking lot. Good weather there's no problem but any snow / ice and it's definitely not a great setup. I doubt they would use the trams either. They've had some issues even on a summer day.
