Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

There'd be a lot of room to play with orientation within that plot of land but the general placement that I chose there makes for an impressive sight walking the midway from Pandemonium to the games, while swinging towards the lagoon. You'd be able to see it right in front of you swinging above the 'arcade' building. It could be pushed a good 25ft closer to the railroad track without changing this framing I just did a quick and dirty fit check. The angle would look about like this walking this direction. -

The orientation in my pic would swing out 50ft closer to the lagoon. I only put the support structure footprint on there. -

Well if that's where it is going I guess this works then? The ride support structure is 75ftx100ft and it swings out an additional 50ft each on the long sides (total 75ftx200ft). They could use this arcade for the queue rather than Axis or obviously build new buildings. Edit: An easy retheme for Joker would be just name it Riddler. No need to change the color. Slap some question mark decals on there. Remove the face that already is nearly disappeared and call it a day. -

Holy crap they tweeted literally 30 minutes after I mentioned they didn’t. -

Kind of a toss up on the location for me. Almost depends on how much they actually use that access road. Replacing current Joker has the benefit of staying near Batman (as if keeping characters near each other matters to the chain anymore) and it has a building already standing so they wouldn't have to pay to build a new one. The Tidal Wave plot is big and out of the way though so it's just super easy to put literally anything there. -

Thank you for the answer. Worst part of that is a Troika is just plain a better ride than the Turbillions. In other news there's no news. The park has not sent out ANY social media posts about this new ride and there's no news release either. -

What did SFOT do when they got a newer Harley Quinn ride? -

The Giga Discovery model seems to need 200ftx75ft of clearance. That's too big for Excalibur's plot of land even without factoring in a queue. Tidal Wave's location would still work but something larger would work there too. The Joker's plot of land just requires that you lose one of the ways to drive from the access road in to the park. -

The app has a slightly different description. It mentions a themed queue. Edit: Wonder where it is going? If they put it where the current Joker is the Axis Arcade could contain a funhouse queue - no need for a new building. And the 75ft width just happens to fit between the building and Batman's high turnaround. -

I'm happy with that. 172ft would be the Giga model too. Not just a Giant. -

I sincerely doubt it would be RMC Boss. But Hersheypark closed Wildcat at the very end of July and that was a pretty extensive mod. If Boss receives a less, creative, RMC'ing there's certainly time to get that done. But I still doubt that - there's no way they wouldn't tease something like that. -

Considering at least some of the management is shared with Great America it's not a shocker that there's a disconnect. -

I don't think they'd tease an opening date announcement if it wasn't for the current year - it'd otherwise be opening day 2024. But I could be wrong too it's of course a bit odd to open it with something like 15-20 operating days remaining (presuming the season ends when Fright Fest ends). -

Yeah I'd recommend editing down to 20 minutes or less. Not because everyone else publishes vlogs that length and more because there's a reason that tends to be the going length of a vlog. The more intensive the time investment required to consume a video the fewer people will be willing to invest the time. -

No I'd definitely prefer narration from someone that knows what a barrier to control mud and water runoff is instead of calling them snakes. But hey there's another update. https://youtu.be/hU6iEsluSv8 -

Apparently memberships have returned. Well. One membership. The $140 diamond pass is no longer the cheapest way to get all-parks access now. This is basically a Platinum pass sold as a membership with all parks access and VIP entrance privileges added on. -

The fun part is that carousel will end up being down for 6 years, and people are fed up with SFStL taking 2.5 years. -

I know there are some people that count flume credits the same as most count coasters. There are even flat ride credit counters. -

I don't see any work on footers at all. Kinda disappointing. Looks like a huge amount of the materials are on site though including what I'd assume will be used for the station. Also these wood bridges for Log Flume to maintain ADA on the second side seem new. -

Hope to get to the park this weekend. I'll be sure to update what I can if I get the chance. Anyone catch the Cinco de Mayo event that was added? -

Should start seeing relatively rapid progress on this then - wish I'd been there this weekend to look for footing work. Vertical construction on these small coasters go really fast. Canada's Wonderland didn't take much more than a couple weeks from start to final track piece. Yikes what a way to put it. But now that you mention it that describes my daughter - born after Pandemonium (same year as Evil Knievel) and gets her permit this year. It's even been a decade since ANY track has been on site for construction. Not sure how many PTC carousels get renovated by Chance though since PTC just offers the service themselves direct.
