  1. People on this thread tend to be very picky when it comes to post. Put that kind of thing on the SFGM thread.
  2. Anybody know if the new bike show will be playing as frequently as Ed Alonzo? Is their any crowd interaction? Also, I've heard that the flyers will be having 2 operators for the first year. I think they could do it with one.
  3. - Arrow Corkscrew - I'm fine with Excalibur at VF which is an Arrow Junior Hyper w/ steel track/wood base - HUSS Top Spin - WhiteWater Drop Floor slides - they never have enough water and burns happen - Big Boat Drop Rides - Octopus Rides -
  4. I have heard that the rides with the longest lines are Goliath, Superman, and X-Flight. Is this true?
  5. Nickelodeon Universe Trip Report Went to NU today. First time since Shredder's opening day. The park was pretty dead today, as it was Vikings-Packers at home. What I looked for today... - Area above arcade - Flyover America - Shredder Operations - Free Wristband Line (MOA has deal where if you spend $250 in the holiday season at MOA, you get 2 free ride wristbands. The wristband redemption line gets crazy long - 1 hour. The wristbands also have an expiration date in March. Also, if you want a really good video tour of NU, I attached one by The Legend of In The Loop. Thanks! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Backwards Swing! Is that an Intamin I see? At a 7 acre park? Really? On-ride photos on something this small? This ride needs to be re-themed. The show got cancelled 8 years ago. Yea- Bumper cars without a wire! This has awful decor tho. Adorable Theming - Show was canceled long time ago tho. Weird ride. I can't flip. Don't really care for it. Good theming. The ride is going to Canada's Wonderland next year. It could become CF's Larson looper. Fun. Fun. Fun. Upcharge. Upcharge. Upcharge. If you do this, do everything on it. Gerstlauters get shaky fast. This is shaky. I think it will get replaced sooner than later - 6 years or so. SallyCorp! You have to do better! Having only 40% of your targets work is not OK! Un-Bouncy Bounce House. 2 Eh rides in 1! Eh. Boring ride for person w/o joy stick. Has foot restraints. There's one going to Six Flags (LaRonde?) next year. Carousel. I was too lazy to walk up the stairs. Who else would it be made by? History: Knotts Berry Farm used to own NU as Knott's Camp Snoopy. Cedar Fair bought Knotts. Then MOA took control of NU. Anyways, one of these rides are rare and only found at the 2 parks - Knotts took there's out. This ride is too high up for little kids. It makes them scared. Bad desicion by NU. Best Ride in the Park! Very similar to Knott's. 2 Big Drops. Fun ride with spinning. Parks best coaster. Forgot to get a shredder pic, so one from opening day! That's it. Decent park. Couple of good rides. Needs another coaster - get one above arcade!
  6. CGA will not be getting a new coaster any time soon. If they were, it would be a Hyper GTX or S&S Free Spin. There are many parks that would get a coaster before CGA (Valleyfair, Worlds of Fun, Dorney Park, Camadas Wonderland).
  7. I don't know how you can say there has been no promise when Matt Oumiet just said that the expansion/investment for CGA and VF haven't even started. I also can remind you that CF owes VF a coaster, and next year, the yearly coaster is not going to a large park. I think it will either go to WoF, Dorney, or VF. Dorney just released their budget for 2017, and it is certainly not enough for a coaster. I think you seriously undervalue what the smaller parks will be getting in the next few years, and if you disagree with me, you don't need to express it on every thread, every single time. Also, Six Flags America is in an entirely different chain, and is getting a pretty good water kingdom, so I don't know why you're not somewhat happy.
  8. First time on this thread, I have an interesting point to bring up. Years ago, Matt Oumiet said that Carowinds, Valleyfair, and California's Great America. Recently, Matt Oumiet reiterated that CGa and VF will still be getting large expansions. Over the past couple of years, Carowinds have received massive expansions, which have, at the moment, turned them into a super park. Personally, I think Carowinds will not be receiving any more massive expansions. I do not think Cedar Fair was trying to turn Carowinds into a clear #2 park behind Cedar Point with these three expansions (yes, I count Plants v. Zombies as an expansion). For Carowinds, I think a very clear and obvious break is in sight. I do not think they will receive a ride next year. Valleyfair is my home park. I do not think we will be getting any sort of expansion that would elevate us to a national park. I also think that CGA would be getting sizable upgrades, although not as much as Carowinds. Personally, I believe that the parks will be getting... Valleyfair 2017: B&M Inverted Coaster 2018: Water Park Expansion (New entrance, mat racer, funnel slide) 2019: Triotech Dark Ride CGA 2017: Water Park Expansion (Capsule Slides) 2018: S&S 4D Free Spin 2019: Triotech Dark Ride I know some of you will call me crazy, but I would have called anyone crazy if they projected what Carowinds would have gotten.
  9. I'm not going to argue a long debate between the chains, but when people walk out of the average CF park, the experience is better.
  10. This came across weird, but let me explain: CGA has very limited space so a more compact, tight coaster would be ideal. Then, they need something installed that is not at SFDK. An S&S 4D Free Spin (CF's 1st) would make sense. Valleyfair has more space and it would make more sense for them to get a B&M inverted coaster. B&M does not make many Gen 2 Inverts, so the one that VF would get could be astounding. It's toughest competition would be the current #1, Banshee. If it was better than Banshee, it technically would be the best B&M Invert in the world. I also think it's cool to notice how many (or how little Six Flags has) of"best of" coasters. Example: Best Giga: Fury 325 Best Invert: Banshee Best Launch: Top Thrill Dragster Best Wing: Either Thunderbird (Non CF) or Gatekeeper Best GCI: GoldStriker, Renegade Best Dive: ValRavn Although CF doesn't even carry RMC, S&S Coasters, Flying (big ones), or else, Six Flags doesn't always have world-shocking coasters.
  11. Forgot to mention my home park is Valleyfair - which has a V2 ride. I am a super CF freak and no almost nothing about Six Flags policies and flash passes. I think I would want to do 2 days - 1 with Flash Pass and 1 to do other rides and water park. I am, though, a theme park native and would stay open to close using strategies to get thru lines. I have heard that the top 3 lines are Goliath, Superman, and what will be Justice League. I do think I would push back 1 more week and go on two of the most normal, unspecial Mon/Tue/Wed possible. I would be fine with getting the standard Flash Pass, and just going to the non-included rides immediately. Also, what is a boarding pass? Is it free? How do you get one? Thank you for letting me answer. If you ever have questions about Valleyfair, Nickelodeon Universe, or MN, let me know.
  12. I am planning a trip to Great America, the second-week of June in 2016. I would like to go on all of the major rides and do water park. A season pass price is $60. A ticket with coupon is $48. Could I fully do the park in a day? What would the lines be like on a Tuesday? Should I get flash pass? I can stand lines 25 minutes and less.

  14. My bad. Screwed up the San Fran parks. CGA happens to be an interesting park. It's relativity to a major attraction - Levis Field (NFL Stadium) makes it seem like an ideal major park. The problem is its size. Unlike at VF, where there is actually space, CGA would have to destroy an attraction. Looking at their attraction page, they have a unique and interesting collection of Great America rides, Paramount rides, and Cedar Fair rides. Looking at what CF has installed, I could see both parks getting coasters and 4D dark rides. CGA would get something small like S&S 4D Free Spin, and VF would get the best B&M Invert in the world.
  15. First rider ever on the new Chance Rev20. Really nice ride that gets thrilling at its climax. Really cool swirling fog effect. Very Nice Opening ceremony. Nice Job NU!
  16. I would be scared if we were getting the same additions as CGA. They are a small tiny park that has a 150 height limit. If anything that CGA needs, they need water park gains.
  17. INSIDER REPORT Cedar Fair has a deal in place with EA which allows them to use their Plants vs Zombies, Battlefield, Need for Speed, and possibly their EA Sports properties (NFL would have to approve...) Apparently each park will either receive a Triotech EA dark ride, or a Shooter ride that replaces action theater. The shooter rides replacing the action theater will solely be installed in the parks that have action theaters, but they have no rush putting them in. I will find the official document. What will VF get? When?
  18. Haunt starts at 7. Do rides before 4 PM
  19. Normally Log Chute and Rock Bottom Plunge, and Fairly OddCoaster stay open all day. The others are in packages of 3 where they run for 20 and sit out for 40. Example: 10:00-10:20: Pepsi Orange Streak 10:20-10:40: Crazy Cars 10:40-11:00: TNMT Shell Shock 11:00-11:20: Pepsi Orange Streak
  20. On the plus side, Bloodshed and Zombie High are open with scarers during the day on Sundays.
  21. Haunt Review: Zombie High: Was great again, always a pleaser. A couple of new sections spiced it up even more. Asylum: Was very good. The monsters were not the same as previous years. The strobe lights were in a horrible place though. Bloodshed: Was very good with jump scares and chainsaws and people above and below you. It was cool to see Mr. Cleaver. Chateau: Somewhat disappointing, as a super nice building, but the characters didn't jump out at all! It was all just people looking in your eyes. Hellside Farm: Very disappointing. This maze was super long and there was around 5 people in it, only 1 jumpscare. London Terror: All of these dumb-looking bird masks along with a new change in scenery made London Terror the biggest changed maze. Unfortunately, the change was for bad. Humane Habitat: I actually mis Camp We Kill Uou! This maze was so terrible, and I waited for an hour because the maze shut down (some guy got arrested for punching worker). This maze had a cool layout, but no scarers. scare Zones: Wild West, graveyard, and abnormal alley were poor. Carnevil and dinoslaughter were eh.

  24. CF has not built any more Zamperla Disk'os since 2013 (2 years) and I strongly doubt that one would come to MA. Now, I could see a 2017 Larson loop, but 2016 is going to be screaming swing- I'm told $2, 1 ride operator
  25. Then why not for 2017? None of the larger parks are going to get or need a new coaster. Knotts is going in a different direction, something more family style. Worlds of Fun has been rumored to be the next to receive a a Triotech dark ride. CGA just got GoldStriker. That leaves us, Dorney, and MIA. MIA doesn't attract enough customers and is not placed in enough of a metro location where people from Detroit would come. That leaves us and Dorney, with Dorney going for a GCI wooden coaster. I could see CF go for coasters at both parks, given the relative cheap announcements this year.
