  1. heh, a buddy of mine asked me to step on his harness before I locked mine so he could avoid the awkwardness of having 2-3 ops trying to jam it down. I did and it worked, but still...
  2. Is Skyscreamer running with those lights on it? Seems like it's stationary with the way it's all rigged up. Also I'm curious how Nitro was running in the cold. I know Steel Force at least starts to slog quite a bit when the temps dip below 45ish. Is it still giving good B&M floater despite the cold?
  3. If anybody plans on going to Holiday in the Park this weekend could you please report back with crowds/dispatch times/lines? A friend and myself are going next weekend and we want to know if we should expect lines.
  4. Well I'm no photographer but I have taken a few pictures. Here's some of my favorites from Dorney. Pardon the size of the images, the usual "upload photos" section wasn't working so I just embedded them in my post. The view from the top of Demon Drop Steel Force from Demon Drop Steel Force at sundown Dorney with a storm rolling in Blurry picture of Steel Force poorly framed picture of the morning trackwalk on Thunderhawk taken before work.
  5. Dorney - For the GP, "The Big Red One" (aka Steel Force) for me, either Talon of Possessed. Knoebels - Phoenix, no question (If we include flat rides though, the Flyers are by far the best) Hershey - Either Stormrunner or Skyrush.
  6. I can agree with the surface smoothness statement. The drop and loop were excellent on my rides. However, and this is a pretty big however, the absolutely abysmal banking in the helix and the rest of the ride ruined it for me. It started out so promising, then... Ouch, ouch, ****, son of a... ouch ouch, get me off this thing.
  7. Bring back buzz bars! (I can dream can't I?) but seriously, those lap bars are just brutal, I have a smaller frame, and the way those lap bars sit on me, it's either painful, or very uncomfortable.
  8. I love the look of the new PTC trains! Really liking the pilot car. It looks to me like they're keyless (for manually opening the restraints) instead opting for a foot pedal like Morgans hypercoaster trains.
  9. I'm excited to see what PTCs new trains are going to look like. Hopefully it's something innovative!
  10. I agree with this completely. I think S&S should really push more Powder Keg-style rides, as I'd love to see them at more parks. These rides seem to be a pretty big hit at parks overseas in China; never understood why they didn't take off here on this side of the pond. If I had to take a guess, Hypersonic XLC turned Cedar Fair off of air powered launch coasters. I know Powder Keg isn't a ThrustAir, but it's still an air launched coaster. I feel it's a case of "If it aint broke, don't fix it." There's nothing wrong with LIM/LSM launches.
  11. Does this confirm scrap yard? Im sure dedicated conspirators will find a way to prove that this means Shockwave is Dorney-bound. Don't put such evil thoughts out there
  12. at least you can sit down at the picnic pavilions
  13. I'll pick one of the many low hanging fruit in Cedar Fairs lineup, Dorney Park. As my home park, I'm somewhat biased. Removing that bias, I feel Valleyfair, Knotts, and MiA all deserve new coasters, but because Dorney is the closest, I'm going with Dorney
  14. I have a really bad tendency to just turn around on the spot if the queue is longer than 30 minutes. I like to go to parks on off days/when I expect it to be slow, so if a queue is longer than 30 minutes on a day I'm going, chances are it'll die out later in the day. The longest I've waited for anything is about an hour and a half for El Toro, when I knew I wouldn't be returning to SFGadv that season. Worth it, as always.
  15. Hurler at KD, no doubt. There are some rough coasters with redeeming qualities, then there's coasters that are rough right out of the station, and beat the living crap out of you the entire ride.
  16. To be fair, I think physical assault is worse than line jumping. It's one thing to not like line jumpers and let the proper park staff know about it, or even to say something directly to them letting them know you're not happy with what they are doing, but you have absolutely NO RIGHT to "grab someone" just because you don't like the choices they made, right or wrong. They are not above the rules to be line jumping and you are not above the rules to be grabbing them. IMO, you are actually more in the wrong here. Sorry, but you get zero sympathy or support from me. Just a thought...you should probably also educate your son that it's "not okay" to physically assault random strangers just because you personally don't agree with the actions they are taking. Probably a good life lesson in here somewhere. How do you feel about physically blocking them without getting violent? Last time I was at SFGAdv with a group of people, in line for El Toro, a few people were trying to weasel their way through the queue, so we formed a "human wall" so to speak and wouldn't budge. All while talking loudly about how terrible line jumpers are. They gave up after about 5 minutes of trying to squeeze past us.
  17. I would love to see a small intamin prefab at Dorney, but I seriously doubt we'll ever get another wooden coaster (Maintenance says it's too much maintenance, after Dorneys experience with Hercules, I can't blame them.) I think a megalite would be more likely than another wooden coaster.
  18. Twister at Knoebels. It's such a shame, I really want to like it, the layout is downright amazing, but every time I get on it, I walk away saying to myself "That is such a brutal ride, never again." But I never learn. Who knows, maybe one of these times I'll actually enjoy it.
  19. If I didn't have to pay for the upkeep, Bisch-Rocco flying scooters. Snap city, population: me.
  20. Does anybody know if everything is open for the Hallofun Weekends? I would assume nothing is closed because the website doesn't say anything about limited rides. I just want to make sure before I decide on what park I'm making my final trip of the season to.
  21. I normally don't say one train provides a better ride over the other, but on Hydra the difference is night and day. Train 2 is the good one, Train 1 has a godawful rattle that makes for an extremely rough and headbangey ride.
  22. Quite often. If I'm bored after work, a short jog over to Dorney for some rides never hurts. I'm only 10 minutes away, so stopping in for an hour and hitting all the coasters was a regular thing this summer. This past summer (for the parks in my state) Dorney: 17x Hershey: 3x Knoebels: 2x
  23. Phoenix for me. Last ride for 2015, Flyers at Knoebels. Best flyers ride I've ever had. The operator was letting us snap them as he noticed the entire cycle was enthusiasts. However when that cycle was up, there was somebody from management there to tell us off. Said if we ever snapped them that hard again we'd never be allowed to ride. So I just went home instead of getting on the last cycle of the night.
  24. Yeah I was looking for you too but I realized after I got in to work that neither of us had any clue who we were looking for I was at Musik Express from 5:30 to roughly 6:30 then went on break anyway.
