Hit the back of the park first. GateKeeper, Raptor, Valravn etc. are very busy during the morning hours. However, if you're planning on getting Fast Lane Plus, you won't have to worry so much about lines on the busy coasters, so it wouldn't matter much. Valravn, Maverick, GateKeeper,and Top Thrill Dragster all require Fast Lane Plus (while the other coasters are obviously fine with just normal Fast Lane). The park isn't busy on Tuesdays or Wednesdays anyway. My personal favorite ride at CP is Millennium Force. Definitely ride it! Cedar Point is quite similar to other Cedar Fair parks except there are more coasters/rides (obviously) and it's busier, so you shouldn't have much of a problem. Enjoy your time there! Thanks so much! Do you know how long each line will be? Would I be able to ride every main coaster and a couple flats in one day?

Hate to interrupt any speculation or anything interesting, but I am a CF employee and will be taking a trip to CP in 3-4 weeks! I will be there on a tuesday and a wednesday and was wondering if anyone had any tips for me while I'm at the park. I was riding Excalibur today with a friend and I got thrown to the side (like always) and I hit my funny bone so it kind of went limp and reached out sideways and I KID YOU NOT I TOUCHED A POLE WITH THE TIP OF MY MIDDLE FINGER, NOT EVEN TRYING! THIS IS NOT A JOKE AND OMG I WAS FREAKING OUT ABOUT IT. CALL ALL THE BS YOU WANT BUT I HIT THAT D*** POLE! Go to about 2:08 and play in the slowest motion, you'll see it's very possible, lol. It didn't hurt very bad, but the tip of my finger got bruised a tiny bit, LOL. I'll still ride it bc I love Excali

Vekoma stole arrow's designs, and they'll probably ruin RMC. Hope they've got a few tricks they aren't willing to share. Maybe someone should call RMC and warn them

I'm a little worried about RipTide leaving to be honest, I mean a ride replacing it sure would be nice! But that thing gets so many laughs and screams that it's still sad to see it broken down... which is almost all the time, excluding this year, lol.

Dino's contract isn't up until 2019, so the coaster would have to wait until at least then. And they tried to do that 2019 plan this year but they haven't passed it yet, so I would think next year is the year for that, then 2018 will be dark ride or whatever, and then 2019 might maybe be a coaster

There are no woodies at a CF park that I'd call an airtime machine, with the HUGE exception of Ghostrider in the glory days (incredible in '04, an atrocity whenever I took the missus). And yes, that would include debut year Mean Streak, before the headbanging and first-drop trims. I'd still rate High Roller above Blue Streak, both before and after CP defaced it with PTCs. Nothing at WOF even factors in this conversation. Where was I...? Oh yes. Real air versus PTC lapbars. My statement regarding 'no air' was a relative statement, not an absolute one. Out in Real Woodie Country (*cough* WISCONSIN DELLS), there are plenty of coasters with bruise-inducing air, with or without stupid orange PTC lapbars. Avalanche (duh) or Hades before the lift hill readily come to mind. But they'd still be better rides without them. I won't even bother bringing up Cyclops WHOOPS just did. I went to the dells with my cousins once a couple years back when Hades 360 was a year old, I believe. Tickets were like 10 dollars because there were only a couple rides open. We did Hades, and it was the first ride of my season. It was the most intense experience I've ever had on a roller coaster. I wasn't in the front, so I couldn't really see what was going on, especially because of the fog, but I still put my hands up! The asshole in front of me and my cousin was holding a cell phone, recording. I don't know if Hades is always this bumpy, but it had the new trains. The seats were comfy but I was worried that the guy was going to let his phone smack me or my cousin in the face. Cyclops just felt plain unsafe... the whole place seemed a little bit sketchy, almost like something you'd see in a cartoon. Anyone else think Hades is intense? Or am I just a wuss?

Worked tollgate this weekend for about 14 hours. Called security twice my first day and had to deal with loss prevention... LOL! The second day I zero'd out so that is good and I still haven't been on one ride this season... Maybe I'll hit valley fair up this weekend. I feel so bad, one of my friends had to work preferred parking for 11 hours in one day!

I'm in admissions, sorry. I'm working tollbooth and ticket sales! Both of which I'm not supposed to be old enough to do. Regardless, can't wait to have a great summer with the whole team!

I am receiving my ID soon and I am in admissions, lol. I'll be ride attending and operating ASAP!

I was at the Orientation! Can't wait for location training on the 30th! I was there too on Sunday for orientation! It definitely solidified the idea of working there and I can't wait. It was awesome to see the park coming back to life, and now I'm super excited for training on May 1st! I think I talked to you afterwards. Are you in admissions? That's what I'm doing, lol.

I went on the plunge slide and being honest it did hurt my back, but it didn't stop me from riding the coasters! We have to turn in employee paperwork 2 weeks prior to training, or 2 weeks prior to orientation?

I'll be working there this summer, and I'm kind of nervous to snap to be honest. I don't wanna get bitched out by a ride op, and I definitely don't want to make it smash the ground. But I think I'll have some fun

My homepark is ValleyFair and I go there every summer. Every time I go to ride Steel Venom, VF's impulse coaster, I hear the dumbest things. I hear this crap from my friends too, and people will argue with me on it and it is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Actual conversation below. Friend: "Dude did you know they put screaming sound effects on the launch and when it stops u in mid air!" Me: "Oh yea, actually that's just the sound of the voltage on the LSM's and the holding brake." Friend: "Um, I've been on it I think I would know." Me: "Um, I'm a roller coaster enthusiast and I go to VF at least 20 times every summer, and I'm working there this summer." Friend: "But they come out of those owls in the loading place or whatever." Me: "Those scare away the birds and bugs so there's no nests."

The dinos are supposed to leave in 2019, that's when the contract is done.

Thats what I thought it could be as well.

I guess if this new wood has an obnoxiously high coefficient of friction you could argue it's like a really old school friction brake, but I think it's more likely that you don't really know what trims look like because that's definitely not it. I didn't even think GCI's have trims to be perfectly honest. I just took a second look and thought to myself, oh god, what if they aren't trims. I don't really know what they look like I guess.

It looks like they are just adding more trims...
